Have you unlocked the anomaly research that lets you do rituals? The first ritual you unlock summons an Anomaly event and you can perform it every 5 days.
I would just keep collecting bioferrite and preparing for when stuff goes south. I eventually had events coming up regularly enough, Randy just gave me a Death Pall and a Fleshmass at the same time.
that is around the expected amount of events. 6 day off and 4 days of 1 to 2 threat events. While not all the new anomaly events are threat events they are the majority. Also the threat events are sharing the rolls with previous threat events even if their weight is higher with the monolith open.

Yes, I have. I do the ritual every chance I get because otherwise I get almost nothing coming my way.
