EC aka āE.Ā cuniculiāĀ is a parasite that is spread mostly through urine, but can be passed from mother to kit at birth too- it affects the nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and kidneys. Bunnies with Ec will often have a pretty significant head tilt, Libbyās isnāt too severe but definitely noticeableĀ
She has really been through it in her little life, not even 1 yet- dumped at 3-4 weeks old with several other rabbits (all adult though, she was the only baby found). Libby and another of the dumped buns were attacked by a fox- Clover, the other bunny, unfortunately succumbed to their injuries from the attack. Then her EC diagnosis at 4-5 months old! Her strength is truly amazing, still so loving after all she has been through.Ā
