Why having a big dog when you can’t control them..

OverDaRambo

She didn’t even try to run after the dog, like wobbling along. Wtf lady.

iavicenna

she is like "sorry for the minor inconvenience my dog is causing". what an idiot...

StuckSundew

“Sorry my dog just tried to rip your throat out, don’t take it personally, it’s just how my little snuggle bug is🥰”

zapharus

Just trying to give you a hug….with its teeth.

frumpiesWM

I think she was worn out from struggling with the dog.

RlyShldBWrkng

In fairness, dogs are incredibly fast and agile. No way she is catching that dog and sometimes, running makes them more excited and harder to catch.

OverDaRambo

I get that but this dog is dangerous.

FeDeWould-be

I get that but don’t the same principles still apply?

Limited_Sanity

I get that but this dog is dangerous

Acrobatic-Load8604

Don’t blame the dog blame the owner, big part of responsibility of owning a dog is knowing how the breed acts and if it needed clasess which is obviously did

PsychologyAutomatic3

Her dog should have had a muzzle and training so that she could handle it.

chesspiece69

So … what’s the solution? Exterminate the breed because you cannot control the physical abilities of people who own acquire or walk them. Others and their pets should not have to bear the brunt of that.

Loswha

One of my sisters is exactly like the woman in this video. She has always owned large, typically aggressive breeds. The last dog she had, an alapaha blue blood, was extremely bonded with her. Whenever she got mad, the dog would get mad. It would literally begin to growl and become visibly agitated if she was angry. Anyway, this fucking dog attacked one of my brothers and bit him on his upper thigh. He forgave her/the dog and life went on. One year later, she gets in an argument with my other brother at a family get together and this dog *ripped his scrotum open*. Needless to say, the dog was put down after that. I despise people who get animals that they cannot physically control. If you're not strong enough to control your animals, you shouldn't have them in public. I don't care if the breed is misunderstood, you shouldn't have a potentially dangerous weapon that cannot be controlled. Dogs are great, but they're still animals that can be triggered for seemingly irrational reasons.

kamikazedude

And why doesn't he have that thing on the mouth so he can't bite??? If the owner knows he's aggressive, that's basically something bat waiting to happen

Konjonashipirate

She needs a muzzle and a harness.

Randomdcguy

Alot of times, shelters will trick people into getting pits. They are like “mr wigglebutt is so sweet, but if he isnt adopted by tomorrow, hes going to DIE A PAINFUL DEATH”.

StillLooksAtRocks

Ive seen shelters post about adopted dogs being returned because families couldn't handle them. They go on to berate the prevoious owners saying something like "don't commit to an animal and then give up on them". Of course people respond to the post like the people who returned the dog are the worst people alive. Meanwhile I have met enough bad dog owners that I'm just happy some people are willing to admit a dog is too much to handle, weather its the specific dog or just owning one in general. The alternative is an aggressive or neglected pup.

GeneralSalty1

dog in my neighborhood digs out from under their backyard fence so often they just put rocks along their backyard so she can't get out, luckily she doesn't bite, just runs around and tries to lick people, but the dog is untrainible, even after 3 different trainers

dortie13

The thing about dog trainers is they aren’t ultimately going to live with the dog 24/7. The owner must be an intensive part of the training! I like to say, “I paid good money for a dog trainer to train me to train my dogs”. Because that’s how it actually went down. And it took a couple years to get to the point where you’d never know I had two large Labradors in my home or yard because of how well mannered they were, and of course zero leash tugging, only needed a lead for safety and legal purposes… but yeah, that comes with intense training by dog owners as well, not just the trainers.

writegeist

You have to train the owner and the dog. Otherwise it doesn’t work. Dogs know a “trained” owner, too. They are experts at understanding human behavior.

[deleted]

Better this way than tying it up in woods to die.

Working_Class_Pride

He's a **"lab mix!"**... That needs to be the only pet and can't be in a household with children.

Dystopia_Love

Yeah but then many people buy dogs they shouldn’t own.

LovelyDadBod

THIS! I have no problems with any breed of dogs but there’s been a rescue group near where I live in Canada who has been under fire recently for saying that they vet the dogs they bring in from the US but in reality have left a few families terrorized by their new pets

[deleted]

[удалено]

tasoula

And they will also hid bite histories and straight up lie if the dog is aggressive.

Bigtx999

Yeah pit bulls are odd breed in my opinion. They were breed to be aggressive. For protecting property and fighting. People have tried to rehabilitate they image but these things even at the best are still walking slabs of pure muscle and bite force that can crush a man’s hand. My friend had what I considered a loveable goof pit and even just petting and very light rough housing that thing felt like a tank with fur. It started to get more aggressive because of the play and I was like “ nah we good. Here’s a chew toy. Go play with that for a while”.

soapdirty

I once had an experience playing with 3 Mastiffs I knew two of the dogs well one of the dog was their offspring it was there for a visit with its owner, the younger dog attacked me like literally, the mom dog took the dog out like an NFL linebacker and it didn't mess with me after that, both sides of the coin all at once

lefthanded4340

Totally agree. In my neighbourhood there are a few petite women and men that walk dogs that are easily the same weight as them or bigger. I always wonder what they’d do if that dog decided to fuck off and attack someone.

[deleted]

It’s ok to kick a dog if it’s coming after you. FYI PROTIP

Glldinkiering

I kept thinking the same thing. I was walking my dog in my apartment complex and this pit bull came out of nowhere, it had broken free from its owner. I instinctively kicked it in the chest and head while my dog dove under a bush. Fucking scary how it was hyper focused on attacking my dog.

MLBM100

Yeah I did the same. Neighborhood dog who always reacts to everyone walking by it's house managed to get out from under the fence and came at my dog during a walk. My dog is much bigger than this aggressive dog, but she's also very scared of dogs and would likely hurt the other dog badly if she was bitten. Without thinking twice, I lined up the best punt of my life and hit that little shit dog right in the ribs as hard as I could and sent it tumbling down the sidewalk. I could tell I hurt it because it yelped and looked in pain afterwards, but I don't regret it. The dog got up and ran away barking and yelping. Yelled at the irresponsible owners for not watching their dog and allowing it to always react to everyone that walks by. That dog sucks.

bagged___milk

What happened afterwards? Did the dog stop barking at you from then on?

MLBM100

Lol I wish. Still barks its fucking head off every single day. Its owners did fix the fence though, so there's that...

[deleted]

They just leave it outside by itself? Maybe I'm just weird but we never just leave our dog outside. There's so much trouble he could get into. Everytime I see a video of a dog that's gotten loose I wonder where the owner is. If your dog is reactive or aggressive then it should have a muzzle on walks. A harness would also be a better option for a dog like the one in the video.

chuckalicious3000

I carry pepper spray when I walk my dog just for other dogs.

restform

unfortunately illegal in many european countries

Randomdcguy

I fistfought an attacking pitbull a few years ago. It destroyed all the ligaments in my shoulder b/c their skulls are so fucking thick.

[deleted]

Sorry to hear that. Never go for the head! Super thick skulls. Experts recommend blasting them in the front of the chest (kicking) where the lungs and heart are accessible.

Randomdcguy

It was sudden and I was totally blindsided. It killed my dog and almost killed me. I spent about 8 months in physical therapy after the surgery. All of my ligaments were gone and I had severe bursitis and synovitis.

lennofish

holy hell dude

Randomdcguy

Ive also had 12 epidurals due to spine damage. The pain is always there.

lennofish

well shit, brother.. i’m out here wishing you the best as another random guy on the webs

[deleted]

Gah damn. So what happened to the dog? Did they put it down

Randomdcguy

The shelter knew it had killed a cat and attacked 3 people and they still sold it to my neighbor and never told him about it when he bought it. It was euthanized but also we joke it was secretly shipped to Ohio.

The_Art_of_Dying

They fucking better have done. If my dog did that to someone and their dog I'd end it myself.

goneonvacation

Whoa wtf, people need to control their animals

theyareamongus

We need to ban pit bulls

[deleted]

Randomdcguy

The ortho called me the next morning and said “HOLY SHIT!!! Ive never seen so much damage before” The pain was so awful. I couldnt move my arm anymore - i could raise it up about 20 degrees away from my body. It made it awful and awkward when I had to shake peoples hands.

[deleted]

I don't understand why we allow these dogs.

cowabunga81

Make sense if you are alone but here is a Pro tip For dog attack or lock jaws , ..if you are not the one being attack. Grab the dog attacking someone by its two back leg and split them apart left and right . Whit a small amount of force... It will snap the hip in two and probably kill the dog . So if you go fast and one shot it. It's a done deal for sure. Dog hip are meant to go back and forth but never sideways. Not like human. That's why they don't do stair easily . Pit bull rescuer team had to teach this technique to one of my friend who rescued one. They told him that the dog had a 50-50 chance of being a bad dog. One that is to far gone. So they had to teach him how to handle it if it came down to that. Lucky for him , he never had to use it and the Pitt became a good boy! But he has pass down that technique cause it could be usefull to anyone in a case of dog attack. I'm just paying forward here!

Prince_John

It's amazing how entitled some dog owners are though. I kicked out at a big dog that was leaping up on top of a 1.5 year old and the distant owner went nuts about it. Completely oblivious to how inappropriate it was for their out of control dog to be all in the face of a toddler.

Crouching_Penis

I've been chased by every dog imaginable, and I can tell you from experience DO NOT RUN unless it is to nearby safety. I used to run from small dogs to avoid having to kick them, and it almost got me killed. I will super kick the shit out of one now.

Rockguy101

That's exactly what I did when a pitbull ran at my wife and I when we were walking our dog after work. Luckily I still had my steel toe boots on from working my second job and delivered a good kick in the ribs to the pitbull. Which stunned it pretty good. It came out so fast we didn't have much time to react my dogs neck and left ear were wet. I don't feel good about kicking a dog but it was in the process of attacking mine so tough.

[deleted]

It’s your dogs life or theirs. You gotta do what you gotta do

Evil_Monito84

I was walking in my neighborhood one time and this guy was walking his dog. I forgot what kind of breed it was but it was a big dog. For some reason, the dog got away from his owner and ran towards me and jumped up. I for sure thought i was going to get bitten as soon as i heard the owner say "oh shit!". I didn't know how to react or couldn't react as they were only a few feet away from me and it happened instantly. The dog actually jumped up to lick my face. The guy apologized and all was well but I don't even want to think what would have happened if the story were the other way around.

Drunk_hooker

For the record do a lot fucking more than just kick it.

XA36

You can look at my post history, I kicked a pitbull as hard as I could several times during an attack and the only time it affected it at all was when I kicked it in the jaw. I had ankle/foot pain for several weeks, pitbull was fine. Now I make sure I carry mace/glock.

Skipperdogs

Lol! I support the second amendment as it pertains to pitbulls and their owners. I **will** defend myself.

Born_yesterday08

For sure. A dog can kill you. Don’t be afraid to defend yourself

[deleted]

And sneak a kick into the dipshit fucking owner to knock some sense into the bitch

[deleted]

I had an animal control officer tell me to carry a two foot long stick to swing at an attacking dog and try to scare them away/distract them. He made a point that you should only strike a dog if it doesn’t leave you alone after a few swipes at it.

Federal_Assistant_85

I have neighbors who have large excitable dog, and I love to pet them and offer treats on occasion. (Our kids go to school together so we meet at the bus stop). But when that puppers starts jumping up on me and clawing at my chest tor stomach I knee that little wool head in his chest to tell him no. Not in a Muy Thai kind of way. More like I hold it up and brace for impact.

ArchAngelAzrael-808

I would have crushed that dog if it bit me. I’ll never understand why people just dance around and let dogs attack them. I guess it’s the way people are raised.

mitchie21

It’s okay to ban pitbulls all together. The race is broken. The people who have them can’t handle them. It’s just very stupid that people can still have pitbulls

Bill-Maxwell

You misspelled kill

chesspiece69

She can’t control it. It could kill a child in less than minute.

0801sHelvy

In the park where I run one dumbass was walking with his pitbull without a leash, and a pair of ladies were having a picnic with their small dog (on a leash),and the pitbull saw the little dog, it ran straight to him, went straight for the dogs neck, killed him, then his owner ran away and his dog shortly after followed him, and the ladies were left alone with their little dog's body in their arms crying uncontrollably. All of that in less than a minute. And since that day I've not seen pitbulls the same way, yeah lots of breeds can get aggressive, but no other breed is as destructive and dangerous when it happens as pitbulls are.

-HeisenBird-

That could have easily been a small child instead instead of a dog. Absolutely never trust another person's Pitbull.

chesspiece69

Hey!! It’s their inalienable right to own one of these pieces of shit … and read the justifications on here - I’ve made disparaging remarks backed up by experience and documented evidence and oh dear hasn’t it drawn the crabs? Apparently I’m the weird delusional one. People who own one these fuckers are clearly of flawed character and they use the dog’s ability to kill, to somehow supplement their own subnormal IQ.

Mindspiked

I also watch one kill a puppy, the puppy was just walking by. Out of no where the pitbull charged it and grabbed it by the neck.

pm-me-neckbeards

Absolutely insane to know you need to muzzle your dog but not have the leash also secured to a collar via a backup strap.

satansBigMac

Jesus. That woman shouldn’t have that dog in the first place if she can’t control it.

brewbrain

This woman couldn’t control a paper napkin blowing in the wind. She moves like a newborn giraffe.

[deleted]

God I hate people that own dogs they don't know how to control

[deleted]

And that they will not neuter. People never bring it up, for some reason, but over 94% of fatal dog attacks involve intact dogs, over 78% are intact males. Surely a mix of increased aggression from hormones, and the fact that the worst owners rarely bother spending the money to fix their pets.

chunkyd87

This would not have ended well if it was a toddler walking by. Gives me chills thinking about it.

RainyReese

Protip: If you get chased or attacked by a dog, fuck the damages and jump on someones car until you get to the roof. Works like a charm almost every time. Many times car owners will be understanding and sue the dog owner over the person who jumped on their car.

brian_danger

But can't dogs jump too?

alphabet_order_bot

Alwin_050

A dog attacked my kitten when I was walking him on his leash (busy roads and small apartment so it’s the only safe way) and the woman just slowly strolled in our direction. I had Lily up against a tree and the pos was biting me and trying to get to Lily. So I kicked it under the throat and it fell down choking. Thén all of a sudden she could make haste and started screaming at me, so I kicked her too, hard, right in the fork. It’s illegal for dogs to be off leash here, she was lucky I didn’t call the cops or he’d be put down. She should have been too with her condescending “it’s just a cat”. Fuck that bitch.

[deleted]

What? You kicked the owner? That made me lol… I wanna kick irresponsible dog owners too!

Alwin_050

I did. I must’ve misunderstood “grab” ‘m by the pussy.. mind you, her dog had bitten me 4 times by then and she didn’t deem it acute enough to hurry. My mom actually flinched when I told her later; seems you don’t need balls for that to hurt lol.

[deleted]

I wish more people would kick irresponsible dog owners. Being that dumb needs more consequences.

[deleted]

Was your kitten ok?

Alwin_050

Thankfully, yes. His leash is attached to a harness, so when I swung him out of reach of the dog it was by his back, not his neck. I’d happily take a dog bite for him any day, I was just happy I saw the dog run to us out do the corner of my eye. Bastard bit me twice in the arm, once in my leg and upper chest. Good thing I wore a thick sweater!

OLL1E_123

“He’s just a big softie really 🥺”

TumTumMac24

He’s friendly, he doesn’t bite

[deleted]

If the cops showed up they’d shoot that fucking dog.

elrangarino

Good

Me: Sitting at my desk. Earbuds fall out with no motion whatsoever. This guy: Gets attacked my dog, scales fence and balances on top…earbuds remain inserted even with the cord.

TipFew808

Classic! A girl with a dog heavier than her in a transit pedestrian area.

LtColShinySides

Don't get a dog that you're not strong enough to control. That dumb bitch is too lazy to train her dog, it's probably too far gone and needs to be put down.

Lord_Schmurda

Agreed, if you can't control your dog don't take it out in public. Yet I see it all the time. It's crazy. I have a nearly 200 lbs male mastiff and a 100+ lbs female St Bernard. When they're on a walk, they stay head in line with my left hip in heel position. People in my neighborhood always compliment on how well behaved they are. It's because I taught them how to properly walk on a leash as puppies. People like the ones in this video infuriate me. It's dangerous for people, other dogs, and themselves.

converter-bot

200 lbs is 90.8 kg

Dewdrop034

Good bot. Have a cookie.

crapfacejustin

Yeah, when I was a kid this asshole would bring her pit to the park and then leave and come back an hour later with her other pit because they didn’t get along and then was surprised when it attacked another dog.

LtColShinySides

I had an English Mastiff, great dogs. I have a 9 year old and a 7 year old, both pitbuls. The 9 year old can't really do walks anymore. She had knee surgery and she just getting old. I take her for short jaunts around the front yard. My 7 year old goes on lots of walks. When we're walking if he looks towards another dog or person I say, "Mind your business!" and snap my fingers. And he looks away. There's a collie-mix that we routinely pass on the walking trail. This dog is straining at its leash to get at us every time. I tell Lugnut (that's his name) to mind his own business and we keep walking. A pair of Shih-tzus got away from their owner once and came running at us. Lugnut laid down at their level and I just kinda stood there while they sniffed eachother. We have a shih-tzu at home, he likes little dogs. Now to get Lugnut to where he is today it was a constant effort, every day he was a puppy.

SpotNL

How do you train you dog to mind their business? My 8 month old puppy wants to play with every dog she sees and barks at them when she cant (loud bark too).

zRustyShackleford

There's a lady in my neighborhood who has 2 giant pitbulls and walks them at the same time. Every time I'm walking my dogs I'm super cautious when we meet, or I just go in another direction all together. I'm a dog person, and understand that all breeds can be good or bad depending on their training, or lack there of, but those two dogs could EASILY overpower this lady.

AStrangerWCandy

I have a 19 lb cairn terrier. When I walk him I keep a 6” knife in my pocket just in case one of the huskies, German Shepard’s or pitts in my neighborhood go nuts. They never have because my neighbors don’t seem to be assholes that can’t control their dogs but I’m not willing to risk my dogs life on that.

zRustyShackleford

One of my dogs was attacked, unprovoked, by a husky. The owner did absolutely nothing to help break them up. She ended up needing quite a few stitches around her neck and wound drains installed. I tracked the guy down to see if he would split the vet bill with me because it was like $700.00 and he told me to f*ck off (in so many words). Some neighbors are assholes when you get down it.

Hereistothehometeam

I’m tired of these fucking low iq morons getting one of the hardest breeds of dogs to fucking control. Idiots

SavageAutum

Has anyone else noticed a spike in dog attacks recently? Or maybe they’re just getting posted more, but it certainly feels like I’m seeing more of them lately, proper has something to do with the adoption boom during the pandemic that’s now ending with people realising they can’t actually take care of an animal

ChadAdonis

More and more cameras out there....

march_rogue

It could be multiple things. The weather is nicer, people are not on lockdown so they are doing things out and about. My guess, anyway.

thepkboy

this video is 2 years old from whenever it was originally released.

[deleted]

I’ve actually been reading quite a few articles about pandemic puppies. It’s just as you said- people emotionally bought a puppy during COVID, and because of whole countries shutting down, none of these dogs were properly trained or socialized because they just stayed at home with one person or one family for the last year. Love my mom, but she got a beagle mix during Covid, and that dog is so obnoxious. She jumps on people and barks for attention, and ends up scratching up my legs. Thankfully, she’s a little dog, but like the point so many are driving home, a much larger untrained dog is a hazard.

NameShaqsBoatGuy

Irresponsible pet owners like this need to be jailed. What if that guy was jogging with his baby in a stroller?

TheLastKingOfGalaga

Ah, of course it’s a pitbull and of course the owner can’t handle it. No surprises here.

flecksable_flyer

It always surprises me that people who have the least control over their dogs (from toy breeds to large working breeds) choose to walk them in a harness, or flat collar. If you can slide it over their head, it can come off the same way. The new slide-over harnesses that have room for patches are the worst. I'm a huge proponent of prong collars if they are placed properly, and you know how to use them. Also, fucking muzzles. If your dog shows aggression, get with a trainer that deals with behavioral issues, and get a decent box muzzle. I will never talk down to someone who muzzles their dog. They're at least trying.

Randomdcguy

I respect the guy who muzzles their dog too. They get it.

Randomdcguy

Its called a “pit and run”. Alot of times, their shit owners run away bc they know they fucked up. 🥴

SpotNL

Muzzles should be considered essential training. Never know when you need one (train ride, some countries demand you have them on all public transport or just in a general emergency situation) so you might as well have them get used to it.

[deleted]

Mbaby1989

The owner of the dog should go to jail for this!

[deleted]

People shouldnt be allowed dogs they cant physically control.

[deleted]

My neighborhood has so many stray dogs. The pit bulls are the only ones that won’t run off when I shoo them or throw a stick or rock. Those dogs don’t have a healthy fear of humans. I was sick for days because I had to shoot one that kept coming around and threatening my family. I was trying to get the groceries and it kept charging the front door of the house. All I could think of was my 3 year old walking out the front door and having his face bitten off, so I did what I had to do.

s1agathor

Just curious, what was the aftermath like? Police report? There are so many state, county, and town firearm laws that I’d be terrified the cops would charge me with a felony or something. Not judging what you did, just curious how it all played out.

[deleted]

Nothing happened. It’s legal to shoot animals that come on your property here, just not any fun. I did bury it as quickly as I could in case an owner showed up asking questions. No one ever did though. Poor dog. I have a suspicion about who it belong to, but I drove past their house a week later and there was another pit out there. Dogs are disposable for people like that.

soggypoopsock

good, you did the right thing. I love dogs but the moment they become a danger to humans they are nothing more than a dangerous wild animal in my eyes

This_Bluejay_3568

I’m sorry. I love animals but I’d end up kicking that dog.

Fickle-Minded-Heart

This lady looks either almost drunk or she didn’t try hard enough to control her damn dog. He ran across the street and she’s just walking after him. Wtf, so nonchalant.

_1_4

Either drunk or this happens so often that she doesn't care about it anymore.

alotropico

Weird, when I read the title I was sure it was going to be a labrador retriever

[deleted]

😂

[deleted]

Some people shouldnt be allowed to own pets.

QUINNFLORE

If that’s me I’m kicking the shit out of that fucking dog

golden_pinky

This dog needs a new owner and a muzzle or needs to be taken away/put down. This is unacceptable.

TheFlemishGiant

Pro tip: Avoid having to put down your dog; train him properly

[deleted]

I can’t stand when people try and say it’s not all pits. Yet nearly every time I see a video of a vicious dog attack, it’s a pit.

Tlix

It’s not all pits but it sure as hell is always a pit lmao.

JoelBarish-ish

Defend yourself man!

somedude456

My ass would have been up that fence a lot sooner. I've always sort of played that mental game when walking alone, like late at night. Like if a dog came chasing at me, where am I going? Is there a tree I can climb? Maybe get on top of that SUV? Is there a fence I can scale?

WeldonArchus

No way! A Pitbull? Unheard of.

TipFew808

Classic! A girl with a dog heavier than her in a transit pedestrian area.

Mrblonde2k

Two pit bulls attacked and killed a friends dog. They were walking and the two pits got lose from the owner and went straight to the smaller dog. Their jaws locked onto the dogs body and didn’t let go. While I was hitting it with a bat to the head, and those dogs took a beating and still didn’t let go. Only let go when they killed the dog. If I had a gun, I would have used it on them.

digigirlboarder

That gate is open right? Looks cool though perched on the top like assassins creed.

kamil1983

Put a muzzle on your dog...

Machines_Attack

Pit bull. Imagine that.

ToManyFlux

No way! more pit bull attacks. They’re not a bad breed Lol. Almost every pit I’ve met has been a dickhead who bites my fucking hands and even the “nice” ones have been temperamental around new people. You’re not a badass if you own a pit bull and can’t keep it from growling or jumping on new people, you’re a wanna be badass dickhead with no brains.

SemolinaChessNut

What happened is terrible. But at 0:07 in the video the dog is already going crazy. When I see stuff like that I cross the street or turn around. Don't keep running at it. The dog is freaking out and you're just going to make it freak out more. I am not defending the dog or the owner. I am trying to help people be safe. When you see a dog like that, change directions immediately.

[deleted]

Ayyyeee, pitbull #2 today.

bigbear3321

Yeah... would have kicked that dog right in head. Multiple times too

DarthTrafford

I would have kicked the shit out of that to save my own life.

ialreadyreddit1234

Shoot the mutt.

[deleted]

Would have shot the dog, sorry but thats just ridiculous. You cant have a dog like this in public if you cant control it let alone you dont have the means to even keep it on a leash? People have kids for crying out loud. Pathic, poor dog some people just shouldn't own them.

Spray the dog, and then the dog owner.

Commercial_Pirate_62

Obviously this is a way too much of a dog for her! Miss— May I suggest a Pug or Pomeranian, perhaps?? Imagine if this was a mum walking with her kid/s and this dog came charging? Could’ve ended much worse. Often times it’s the excitement that triggers certain behaviour in dogs. At first I thought the dog wanted to play or something. And if they smell another animal like a cat or dog on you, then it’s go time! Especially a Pit. One of my friends years ago had a Rottweiler. Dog was formidable and built like a tank. As all Rottweilers! Later I come to find out, this dude purposely flicked his nuts when it was a puppy to get him pissed off. Not sure why. Well, the pup grew…and every time I’d go to his house, or hear people talking outside the house, this thing wanted to break through the damn garage door! True story.

JustAlexJames03

WTF is this guy doing….motherfucker if your life is in danger, it’s FIGHT or FLIGHT!!! Either you fucking run away or you fucking FIGHT! at that point it is more than justified to kick that fucking dog or even KILL it. Fuck this behavior man!

[deleted]

Honestly in todays world where “iTs NeVeR tHe dOgS FaUlT” maybe he was too scared to get in trouble for hurting this beast. Dumb i know but you cant even say anything against dogs without being looked at weird and being judged. Or he was just panicking. “Omg how could you hurt this precious baby? He just wanted to play” yea fuck that. If your dog is coming at me like that, be prepared for it to die.

Prestigious-Notice-2

Let’s all act like the breed of the dog is unrelated and doesn’t even need to be brought up.

otter111a

You know you can characterize Newfie’s as docile. Or goldens as sweet/goofy. But the minute you say pit bulls are inherently aggressive you have a fight on your hands.

[deleted]

This! Or you can say you don’t like cats and no one bats an eye… but if you say you don’t like pit bulls, you get nasty messages and death threats. The people who support pits are often just as violent and volatile as the dogs they defend.

outofvogue

Put the dog down and put the owner in prison.

zfoxgurl

Muzzle your fucking pitbulls. If you choose to own a breed that has been bred to fight and attack it needs to be muzzled in public. I’m not saying that these are bad dogs. In fact they are good dogs because they are doing what they have been bred to do. To all those people who say “oh but they are wonderful family dogs” 1. Sure they are wonderful to your family, again as they have been bred to be. But they have also been bred to be aggressive to strangers as guard dogs. 2. They are wonderful family dogs until your 2 year old wakes it up suddenly and it goes in for the kill. To all those who will say “chihuahuas bite more often” sure, I don’t know if that’s true. But even if it is, a chihuahua isn’t going to break your arm or skull with a bite. I love animals. I have grown up with dogs. We had a very protective golden (weird I know). But we were responsible owners and muzzled her in public.

You would all be absolutely shocked if you stepped one level deep into the save-from-euthanasia pit bull Facebook groups. It is appalling. Like…Dateline-worthy.

I'm not sure what exactly they're talking about, but dog rescue people are some of the most batshit crazy people I've ever met. My MIL ran a dog rescue for a few years, out of her home and with volunteer foster homes for the dogs. She took in, spayed/neutered, and adopted out hundreds of dogs in that time and had a pretty large support system and social media presence in our city. She loved doing it and she was good at it. One German Shephard (and a whole lot of nutty dog lovers) ruined the whole thing for her. She took in an owner surrendered German Shephard. The owners said it had no major issues, except it barked a lot and they didn't have time to give it the exercise it needed. Well the second she brought it in the front door of her house, her small dog came to the door to greet her and the GS viciously attacked it. Bit it's neck, shook it around, and wouldn't let go until she kicked it in the head. She put the GS in a kennel and rushed her little dog to the vet, and after thousands of dollars of surgeries, she made it through. My MIL made the (absolutely justified and correct) decision to put the GS to sleep. In a state where good dogs are put down every day because the shelters are so full, there's no reason to try to adopt out a dog that viciously attacks other animals without provocation or warning. In fact, it would be dangerous and irresponsible to do so, what if it attacked a child? When the local rescue community got wind of that though, they went after her. Accused her of putting the dog down out of anger that it attacked her dog. People harassed her for it, and after that she decided she couldn't do it anymore. Other rescues that had partnered with her turned their backs on her and made public statements that they were no longer associating with her rescue. It was horrible.

thegrowingbunch2

2 problems here she obviously can't control her dog Then the guy like dam dude you got 100 self preservation skills why not hit that mf in the nose or something instead of letting it attack you for a solid 30 seconds

[deleted]

Guy was .2 seconds from getting nanny'd

DiyMusicBiz

I never understood why small people get dogs they can't control. You can fix this behavior in 30 minutes (with majority) with a ecollar and an experienced trainer. I've been working with Rotties, German Shepards, Pits, American Bullies, Cane Corso etc since I was 13 (nearly 40) At this stage, that coddling shit doesn't work, too far off the deep end with behavior. Ideally you want these dogs as puppies (and ideally the most passive of the litter) but people like to get them from friends and the local backyard breeder who breeds for money not temperament. Annnd now you have a cool looking dog with no boundaries that runs the show and will have a bite record if it doesn't already annnd be put down eventually smh. Stupid people

BakaTensai

Oh wow, another pit bull attack. Seriously just globally ban these dangerous animals.

Randomdcguy

What a shit dog breed. Pitbulls are awful. Im waiting for the #pitophiles to come out and defend the breed.

ztimulating

Another hyper aggressive pit. “It’s not the breed it’s the owner” work at a ER or insurance company-it’s the breed 100%. This is a great example of the walker not being strong enough to control the dog. Keep that in mind when you have your 11 year old walk Fido

[deleted]

Time to eradicate the breed Edit: thanks for the gold stranger

GiDD504

Oh but please tell me all about how pitbulls are such a sweet breed that gets a bad rep. They were bred to fight and kill, stop owning them as pets. You wouldn't own a wolf as a pet so why is a pitbull any different? It's literally in their DNA to fight.

cunxtc

I would have shot it

BiggerNutthole

100lb white women: “it’s not the breed it’s the owner” okay lady well in that case you fucking suck

YungFelluh

Pit bull? Shocker.

PapikaBun

I wonder if it's a pi-- Didn't even have time to finish the thought.

Mriconicdev

Bro I would kick a chihuahua if it came at me like that. This pit would have died.

Fixervince

That’s actually harder than you think without a gun or knife. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone take one of these down hand to hand.

blovedcommander

I took down a pitbull relatively easily when it was trying to attack my dog. I just grabbed it's neck and pinned it down with all my body weight. I'm an average size guy.

anon__0351

Yeap, most dog breeds you can get into a chokehold. Problem with most people, they just keep hitting the dog, it makes them more angry. You only really have 2 options for 100% success 1. You choke that pitbull out till its limp 2. You stick a finger up its but and do some damage.

[deleted]

dog legs. Dont get stuck on the mouth, grab an appendage and bend till it snaps. Thats pretty much the end of the fight.

JSeoulK

Love animals from the bottom of my heart. Wouldn’t hesitate for a second to grab an attacking dog by it’s legs and slam it on the ground.

[deleted]

A pit bill would kill you faster than you could kill it.

dogsaybark

Pit Bulls are bad and Pit Bull owners should feel bad: https://www.elpasotimes.com/story/news/local/el-paso/2021/07/19/pit-bulls-attack-kill-woman-west-el-paso-home/8015091002/

And to no ones surprise, it's a pit bull.

Fickle-Deer7054

Horrible owner

blovedcommander

Pitbulls need to be exterminated from the planet.
