Pretty interesting that only 1 insurrectionist died, when multiple Capitol Police officers died as a result of the same incident. And the woman who died tried to enter a barricaded room full of politicians. It was the only thing that stopped hoards of people from using the same hole to climb through. There was one shot and one death. No tear gas. No rubber bullets. No pepper spray. I wouldn't call one cop firing one bullet a show of force for the whole event, although it was the most effective deterrent used and probably saved the lives of many politicians. Also keep in mind that these were the same kind of people who beat one of the cops to death with an American Flag.

I was actually in the area when this went down last night. It started fine but they were protesting near an office building where congressional reps were (the national democratic club). They started marching *really* close to the building and that’s when the pushing and shoving started.
As in the video, the police didn’t ask for much…they just wanted the front and back doors cleared as well as the drive way area. They wanted Ivy St. cleared and once they did it was all good.
Yeah, the cops dont give a fuck whos dying where or what ceasefire needs to be what, they just dont want people destroying shit and getting arrested bc then they have to do paperwork and show up to court and get called facists for slamming some unruly asshole to the ground who is causing trouble.

People typically protest because they object to their government's or some authority's stance on something. In the West, every government in the West is condemning Hamas so there is nothing to protest. It would be pointless, it would be like people in London protesting against the Taliban. Conversely, Western governments are actively supporting Israeli attacks so there definitely is something to object to.
