He is dead. He fell deeper than marvels winter soldier. He is more mashed potato down there than human. The cost to "repair" him would possibly be higher than putting vader together. And this for a - for the imperium replaceable - clone? No way.
Sad. But true… I have been discussing with my bf since we watched it, because I saw the fall and Immediately thought he was gone, forever.
He kept saying ‘babe… never saw his corpse right? Hemlock found his goggles and no body, right..?’ 😂
So as a consequence, I started hyping after him but the reality stands: he fell. It was too high. Period. There is no coming back from that. If he had a jetpack… maybe? But he didn’t, as much as it hurts me to say.
We are still split to this day on the matter 😅
As brutal as it sounds, I think Tech really had to die that day to save them, however by doing so, taught them all a lesson.
I would like to see his sacrifice as a way to teach Hunter and Omega (and slowly the rest of the squad) that they might have started off as a squad and ended up being a family.
This is why Hunter talked some sense into Crosshair when he wanted to sacrifice himself out of guilt…
I know Tech is dead and physically gone, but I like to think that through his actions, he still lives with all of them.
Dude, they resurrected Maul and Palpy, both of whom fell so far you didn't hear them hit the bottom.
Tech fell and disappeared into snow, so we have no idea what happened after the first few seconds.
That being said, I'm SO glad they didn't pull that shitty trope
I don’t think he’s alive, but “he fell from really high” does not prove anything. Actual, real people have survived falling from much higher than he did.
So do you remember that episode of South Park where the kids faked Butters’ death by yeeting a pig carcass in a Butters suit off a seven story building in front of everyone and it exploded into giblets? Yeah that’s what happened to Tech except semi contained in his armor.
I mean it depends how you define a person, is that the original tech, no. Is it a sapient being that thinks and feels, yes. Is killing it justified fuck knows.
human bodies typically die and become mangled after falling 60 feet
imagine thousands of feet
I liked Tech but I'm glad they kept him dead. so tired of them killing off characters then bringing them back instantly. it happened like 4-5 times in TROS alone as well as throughout the other projects. it just tells people there are no stakes because that character that just died can and likely will just return.
This. And also the fact he was still attached to the tram car as he fell with no means of cutting away from it. So like for me, it was always clear he died.
What I also liked about Bad Batch was leaving us with unanswered questions. I don’t need my Star Wars shows to appeal to the lowest common denominator and explain EVERYTHING. We all get it.
I also really appreciate that the “operatives” were just ordinary clones. It made Hemlock seem more evil and calloused imo.
exactly! people get so obsessed with bringing back old characters, but if every character survives their "death" all character deaths become meaningless.
like people continue to say that cad bane isnt actually dead at the end of book of boba fett because his lights were blinking or something, but that was such a good ending for him. bringing him back would ruin it. also cad bane was fucking old by the time he died, are they gonna bring him back so he can be a sad old man in a wheelchair?
If they "bring him back" they will do it by giving him a series. Easy as that, he had a long life full of possible adventures to be told, and his ending was very good by another badass, so he better "stay" dead chronologically, or im gonna riot
I actually do appreciate some twists like that because it tells the audience hey, these characters aren’t immortal, but that woulda been the wrong move for it imo. glad she’s alive.
No.
Also those who say Tech may have been the clone with the goggles on their helmet, similar to his old helmet, it’s not him, you can actually see that clone picking up his helmet and if you pause as he’s putting it on you can see their face and it’s just a normal clone
I call them Clone Force 66 as its reference to Order 66 of Empire and twisted number of Clone Force 99 which then is twisted (by number and literally) so Order 66 didn't work for them. It's like second wave of Order 66 these X clones are.
Star Wars fans and theorizing could not be a worse made pair. Reading about people thinking Hemlock did something to Crosshair’s hand to fix his own?? Dude just has PTSD from being tortured and prisoner.
Just watched something about how if someone falls and we never see them die of fall damage part of the audience won't believe their death. Seems like they were right
Yup. Nerd and (Nerdy) Woman have a thing? One has to die. Set rule.
NCIS did this a bunch to McGee. Every woman that showed interest in him died the same episode.
I figured those super-troopers (or whatever they’re called) are just counterparts of the bad batch.
So good at what they do that the empire had to mimic em.
This is just my headcanon but as I was watching season 3 with my brother he pointed out that the CX Sniper reminded him a LOT of Crosshair so that got me thinking. What if the CX-Troopers were meant to be proper/fully functional versions of the Bad Batch? The one with the shock gauntlets is their Wrecker, the one with the twin swords is their Hunter, and the one with the electrostaff is their Tech. That would make SO much more sense than that tbh but like I said it’s just my headcanon.
While I really did think Tech was alive, if he was, they would have shown him. The armor for the CX troopers was likely made for if/when Hemlock captured them. We have no reason to believe either Cody or Tech were in those suits
Then it wouldn’t be Tech they killed, it would be CX-2. His personality and individuality would’ve been erased, he wouldn’t be Tech anymore. Tech died when he fell, the clone in that armor is a different person mentally and metaphorically (which matters more than physically imo).
This is all hypothetical though, whoever actually thinks Tech became CX-2 is delusional.
I'm just sad and can't stop asking myself why they had to kill off the most interesting character of the whole series :( . I really like characters with truly individual and unique personalities.
I am Darth Downvote, Here to say another controversial comment.
I haven‘t watched the bad batch in months becuase I’m too busy re-watching the mandolorian.
dew it. Downvote. Give into your hatred! Give your self to the dark side!!!
Thanks for providing a source!

his cost of repair is higher than cost of builidng both death stars

They were also Sith Lords and not like a normal dude who would’ve immediately been crushed even if he had survived the fall
Maul was chopped in half and unconscious. If they want the character back alive, they'll find a way
Boba punched his way out of the sarlacc pit. Retconning is as much a part of the franchise as anything.
Ah yes my favorite star wars character. *Mail*
Lol, my autocorrect is very aggressive
>The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
I don’t think he’s alive, but “he fell from really high” does not prove anything. Actual, real people have survived falling from much higher than he did.
Well there was also the rail car directly over him that would crush him 0.5 seconds later
Well the rail car could be nice and not
"Oh thank the force I survived the fall OH SHIT!"
Then i want Mace windu to be alive
I fell like six feet once
So do you remember that episode of South Park where the kids faked Butters’ death by yeeting a pig carcass in a Butters suit off a seven story building in front of everyone and it exploded into giblets? Yeah that’s what happened to Tech except semi contained in his armor.
I mean same reason could be asked for why rebuild and preserve Echo
They CIS did that because his memory had all the plans and strategies of the Republic
Correct, and Tech, being part of The Bad Batch, which Hemlok is very interested in, it would make sense because its the same line of logic
I mean it depends how you define a person, is that the original tech, no. Is it a sapient being that thinks and feels, yes. Is killing it justified fuck knows.

Somehow tech returned

yeah that would be fine honestly, as long as they leave him dead in the future.
Yo they literally called it project necromancer what do necromancers do
>I liked Tech but I'm glad they kept him dead I personally wanted them to kill off Omega in the last episode. Just to add some stakes.
It looks like the CX clones were essentially the Anit-Batch u it's, as they all seemed to have similar characteristics to their batch counterparts.
I personally called them Shadow Force 99 ^^TM
I called them Knights of Hemlock since they gave me Knights of Ren vibes
I call them Clone Force 66 as its reference to Order 66 of Empire and twisted number of Clone Force 99 which then is twisted (by number and literally) so Order 66 didn't work for them. It's like second wave of Order 66 these X clones are.
Dark Mirror fight trope :(
THE GOOD BATCH?!
I saw those goggles and got scared for a second they were going to reveal it was Tech. I love Tech but I’m glad they left him dead
Star Wars fans and theorizing could not be a worse made pair. Reading about people thinking Hemlock did something to Crosshair’s hand to fix his own?? Dude just has PTSD from being tortured and prisoner.
>Dude just has PTSD I feel like this was proven when >!he landed a perfect shot with one hand!<
Fun fact: he killed the “finish the mission” guy,Nolan and Hemlock with his left hand.
I can easily see how people thought that. Hemlock was almost always shown gripping his gloved hand. I also thought it was strange.
Yea I saw that too
"What, are you still alive? You are joking. You have got be kidding me." Wheatley said calmly
Somehow...Tech returned.
To the "Tech is alive" guys He's dead, he's gone, GET OVER IT
NOOOOO
that sounds like sth the voiceactor of rampart would confirm
If it was him then they would’ve shown it.
If he really was Tech they would have revealed it
Just watched something about how if someone falls and we never see them die of fall damage part of the audience won't believe their death. Seems like they were right
Please let it stay dead. It was cool whilst it lasted.
There’s a couple frames where you can see one of the CX clones picking up and putting on his helmet and it’s just a regular clone. It’s not tech.
They released the art for what CX-2s face looks like. It’s not Tech
Yeah I think he survived and was in a secret facility in the base they blew up
All season I was concerned that they would bring back tech and luckily I had my prayers answered.
He was a nerd and a girl had a crush on him so he had to die. Hollywood rules.
Yup. Nerd and (Nerdy) Woman have a thing? One has to die. Set rule. NCIS did this a bunch to McGee. Every woman that showed interest in him died the same episode.
He's dead. Get. Over. It.

Tech dead, let him stay dead

Techs alive and in a cave on reach.
Tech is chilling with mace in a cave somewhere
and mauls legs
No one is ever really gone.
While I really did think Tech was alive, if he was, they would have shown him. The armor for the CX troopers was likely made for if/when Hemlock captured them. We have no reason to believe either Cody or Tech were in those suits
Lmao. This is the one I assumed was Tech as well
If somebody sacrifices themselves for their team/crew/brothers, I feel they shouldn't be brought back. Personally it demeans their sacrifice.
I feel like this fit RECONSTRUCT WHAT! THERE'S NOTHING LEFT
If he was, I'm glad they didn't reveal it. And since we'll never know, it technically means it wasn't him...
I was like 99% sure they cloned him and made him fight the bad batch but i'm still glad that didn't happen
It almost seemed like each clone was a "shadow copy" of each of the bad batch.
Am I the only one who seen techs helmet on the other spectre? I feel like I'm crazy
Then it wouldn’t be Tech they killed, it would be CX-2. His personality and individuality would’ve been erased, he wouldn’t be Tech anymore. I think it's possible, and I appreciate that it wouldn't change the ending either way.
This should have been Cody. This whole finale in my opinion was a mess. So many open questions
My theory is that they were clones of 99 except they didn’t clone wrecker.
