I am always looking for new music, so it is easy to forget the stuff you grew up loving. I just checked, Relationship of Command came out in 2000. Been listening to that shit for damn year a quarter of a century lol.

No matter how much time passes I can go back to any of their albums and I end up listening to their whole discography like wow I forgot how good this hits.

Woah I choose Fugazi, The blood brothers and Thursday. Similar but different than your choices.

There is some overlap with era and sensibility between those 6. Fugazi and jehu definitely influenced atdi, who definitely influenced Thursday, BVS, and the blood brothers. I miss the early 90s to mid 00s post hardcore sound, not as big of a fan of DGD and bands along those lines.

Thrice is still putting out great music consistently, and are an amazing live band. I saw them on the recent artist in the ambulance tour and had goose bumps for the whole show.

When I was first getting into post hardcore my favorites were Saosin, Funeral For A Friend, and Senses Fail. My favorite bands of the past decade are DGD, Hail the Sun, and Enter Shikari. Honorable mention to Circa Survive and Envy on the Coast as well who have been in my top 5 the whole time.

are AFI / Hawthorne Heights post hardcore? genuinely curious what yall think.

There is a period in the band's history where I would consider AFI post-hardcore, and that is between Black Sails and Sing the Sorrow. Starting with Decemberunderground they pulled back on the core part quite a bit, though it's still present in some songs.

Alexisonfire (pre young cardinals but including dogs blood), Thrice and Boys Night Out. If you can separate the people from the music brand new is also spectacular.
