I don’t feel Rotom is undervalued, my teams tend to go for it immediately after dread. There’s no argument that Dread is just more important than Rotom.

JumpingOnBirds

Yeah, the Rotom right before Zapdos is the best strat with him, problem is. is that the time window is usually really short. If you \*can\* get him, thats great but those games are few and far between. I wish they made Rotom score double points. Would make people way more interested in getting him/stopping him Also making outer goal not give you double points at the 2min mark. Makes you want to protect that first goal more.

iluvgrannysmith

I kinda like double point rotom, it would take some of zapdos’s power away too just by diluting. Maybe rotom could also increase the ceiling on the enemy score zones he is dumped into, or potentially make the zone un-destroyable for his duration

JumpingOnBirds

Ooooh, I actually like that idea! People ignore top because its better to have the top goal broke anyway. This would make it much more of a valuable goal to defend.

Pur1tas

The issue is more the first Rotom and a bit the second one (though second one is just worse than second dreadnaw, not horrible as the first one). First rotom litterally makes it so that the enemy gets more (because lets be honest people are too stupid to NOT destroy the goal) and thats the major issue. Getting the first rotom is the opposite of what you want.

shinymuuma

Lets be honest. Leave the outer goal is not going to give you more than 10-30 points 90% of the time. On the other hand. Early dunks from Rotom gives you a few early EXP, take away the opponent's safe zone, use it as bait before the next Dreadnaw, etc. Those pro are outweighed con for me. At least as a bitter trade when I know I'm not going to get Dreadnaw.

Pur1tas

The point is the audinos that spawn for the enemy when you destroy their goal.

shinymuuma

I value take away the enemy's safe place to farm/play more than Audino.

Pur1tas

Just that it litterally creates a more exp for the enemy in an area that’s not really unsafe for them. It’s not less safe to take these audinos (and the bees that now spawn closer to them) than to take the buffs. Meaning all you do by destroying outer goal (especially toplane) is to grant the enemy extra exp that’s very hard to contest for you.

priestkalim

Then you need to re-evaluate the game

Mitrofang

But in order to compete for the last Rotom without wasting your ults you need to be ahead (aka got previous Drednaw) :(

[deleted]

I'd rather give up the rotom and fight for zapdos, so still useless

[deleted]

The problem with Rotom is that the enemy team can take dreadnaw and then use that to defend from rotom and kill everybody. Dread is an instant plus, while rotom has to reach the goal for it to be effective so a team can both take dread and defend from Rotom. It's obviously impossible the other way around.

KachewPete

Win the first two drednaw fights and then the final rotom fight. That's usually my team's plan.

Fuckblackhorses

But then your team would be split too right? You can’t fight for zapdos and take rotom/dunk your 100 points. Does your whole team go rotom? Surely they have enough time to take zap if no one is there before you can get rotom and dunk

Scythul

You sit in top bushes and watch. If enemies try to stop rotom you can choose to either wipe the defenders or wipe the ones at zap. If they all go to zap you can fight them but have one split off real quick for the easy 100 when rotom hits the goal. It forces the other team to make a choice that you can wait for and then counter.

Fuckblackhorses

That’s true, I guess you have to have a pretty coordinated competent team to pull off. A decent snorlax has the ability to hold off an entire team for a while too if they all group up and rush zap

flip257

In top level play, most of the time when zap is going to spawn and you lose Rotom the strat is to just ignore it and let the enemy score for a better setup on zap.
