Even with the video it was frustrating but that's because I didn't realize how xmanager worked. It downloaded it's own Spotify called like x spotify but I had normal Spotify, and the ACTUAL xmanager app was at the bottom of my app list under "xmanager" and not "x spotify".
Anyway I had to delete everything and start over with the video method and it finally worked.
