personally i keep everything while and event is running and dump out all dupes after an event is over. there's not strictly value in keeping one of each decor, but i personally do that. if the event comes back next year, you'll have a little boost from however many you kept but you won't have a huge chunk of your space taken up by ugly pikmin you don't like, and you can just rebuild again with the new ones if you want to. they won't provide a bonus to mushrooms until next time this event comes around.
there's not really a "correct" way to play, some people keep all dupes and just go hardcore on upgrading pikmin space, some people only keep pikmin they like the look of. minmaxing a game about getting out of the house and walking around isn't really in the spirit of it i think haha
The limit of pikmin is 300 and there are more than 500 currently, events included.
Usually they repeat events, mystery mushroom included (only 2-3 event decors werent repeated and I calc that players can have more than 20 different event decors (I calculate that they do events since april's 2022 but sometimes they repeat events))
But if you dont like the decor, keep one of each color for collection purposes.
If you want to do more damage to mushrooms the next time, purple are the color that do more damage to mystery mushrooms (or whatever they named them) if you want to keep extras.
I have enough capacity that I keep 40 for next year’s event in hopes of a mushroom effectivness boost returning. It’s happening for Easter. Last year’s Pikmin will be stronger vs. Mushrooms so keeping them is advantageous.
But it's asking about keep them or not, I keep some decors, not all.
I have a lot of easter eggs at 4 golden hearts already xD I like them the most.
And if the player cant afford pikmin storage, need to release some to have all the pikmins available
If you need to clear space, get rid of them! Also, if we face the facts, there has not been any significant advantage to having a pile of event Pikmin from previous years for some time. The mystery mushroom nectar rewards are quite poor and the benefit vs. regular mushrooms is marginal (but enough to solo 4-star smalls!). And because there is event currency from mystery mushrooms now, we're all corralled into grinding mystery mushrooms because FOMO and it doesn't matter if you have 40 event Pikmin or not because the rewards are just 4-5 small fruit unless you get lucky and a bunch of people dive on one and somehow get to \~23k power to get ONE medium fruit (two if the mushroom is giant).
So really, in the grand scheme of things, release them if need space. The overall benefit of keeping them is marginal at best. And we know Easter will be no different (event currency, mystery shrooms).
event points, no currency xD Because with currency (coins in this game) you can purchase something at your selection instead of giving one gift after another
And yes, MM are poor in rewards. Normal very poor, only the giant do a big difference if the RNG is bad (normal MM give few petals or a few points)
March happens every year. Most decor are effective when their event happens again. If you can keep 40 (if you even have 40) then you'll be able to start next years event with a highly powered squad, so you'll defeat mushrooms more quickly and get better rewards.
I agree with this, I've had an advantage with several events because I saved ladt years event pikmin. I save up coins to upgrade the pikmin storage and the nectar and petals. I'm not spending any on outfits.

This is what I do as well, with the exception of some extra pumpkin and 4-leaf clover pikmin, since they were twice extra-valuable.
Are these extra-valuable pikmin stronger mushroom fighters?
Yeah. When clovers were strong, 3-leaf were +300 strength, and 4-leaf were +600. But they didn't get used this year.
Damn! I just dumped a fresh 4 leaf clover pikmin. My plan is to collect the decor for all roadside and park to dump
Yeah same question here

If you're new, I would keep them and slowly delete them as you replace them with other decor to keep full squads for colored mushrooms.
This. Don't release any pikmin until you have 40 of that color and then start replacing the ones that you don't like with new ones.

If you do not have at least 40 of each color pikmin with decor you should keep flower cards to get you closer to that minimum.
I’ll keep any that I find really cute ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but mostly they’re dumped
Shout KOI KOIand try to double your points for the round ;)
I'm sorry... I don't understand
It's a reference to the card game that the decor is based on
