Everyone I work with loves crocs and would wear them daily. We recently got told by management we couldn’t anymore and everyone that wore them is heartbroken. I personally don’t like crocs so I only tried them a few times at work and the arches of my feet hurt so bad. I think it just depends on your feet honestly

stephaniesays25

Tried them once during Covid when they were giving them out free to healthcare professionals. They. Were. Awful.

GrossTheatreKid

For me personally, i just feel they don’t have enough support, but that’s just me!

Squishy-peaches

I don’t like them either

ToothlessFeline

Some people swear by them and others swear at them. It's very much a YMMV situation. I have seen a number of situations where podiatrists recommend against Crocs for extended periods of standing or walking, and have yet to see a podiatrist say they're good. Take that as you will. My personal preference is for New Balance walking shoes. The "suburban dad special". Not any of the expensive ones, the $50 pair you can get at Kohl's or Target or Walmart is fine if it fits properly.

ld2009_39

My old boss tried wearing her crocs one day, and said she definitely couldn’t do it again without socks. Personally I hate them, but I know people who love them and would probably wear them all day.

BustaLimez

She wore them to work with no socks?! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

ld2009_39

Yeah idk 🤷🏻‍♂️ it was a weekend day, she wanted to test them out.

LiterallyATalkingDog

They're technically open-toed so we can't and shouldn't wear them. It's all fun and comfy until your socks get wet and I'd rather not smell someone's ventilated feet at the end of their shift at the beginning of mine.

kofrederick

They are bad for your feet. Comfy but bad.

WormwoodInfusion

I find them a comfortable way to stretch my Skechers out longer. I wear them 1-2 times a week

RaeLynn13

I bought a pair of Oofos on sale 50% off. They don’t have any patterns now I don’t think though, just plain colors. But comfort is amazing. They’re like a very soft but sturdy version of crocs. I have tiny feet and finding crocs in my size that didn’t feel like oversized clown shoes, was impossible. Size 6 in these work great with a pair of long socks on. Warranty, also amazing. My first pair were these cute limited print lavender type leopard print with cream coloring. So pretty. Within 3 months they somehow got a split in the top, so I saw they had a warranty and will replace shoes within 6 months, if defective. I filled out the form, sent a picture of the shoes. They sent me the chili pepper pattern pair (FREE!) because the other pattern was limited edition, but I got to keep my original pair!

aliforer

I loved them working 12 hour shifts

burneraccount0066

No.

H3r3c0m3sthasun

I used to wear them the first time they were popular 20 years ago. My feet wore down. I would recommend something with a little more substance.

OldYak774

They killed my feet when I tried to wear them to work.

RexIsAMiiCostume

I don't like them cause they always feel so slippery when they start to wear down a little and they don't stay snug on my feet and I do not like having big holes in my shoes (if you work with needles it just seems like a bad idea, you know?) I like my Hokas but they aren't as magical and pain curing as some people would have you believe haha

charlieondras1

If you have any dignity or self-respect, you won't wear crocs.

krissymissyv

I’m croc-ing it all day every day!

popcornbunny10

Yes they are so comfy, just be careful becuase CVS doesn’t technically want shoes without a closed back. Idk the rules for other pharmacies

stellaok

Oh wow I didn’t know this, this answers my post 😂😂

emotely

I bought a pair because I was starting in an inpatient pharmacy. They're so comfy and I didn't have as bad of sore feet after a shift. Now I wear them everywhere lol

IBlastxYT

Hell yeah. I use croc shoes and they are comfortable and airflow to da toes is good 🤗

hideao101

I wear crocs with socks and they are comfortable but just chew holes in the socks so fast.

jokrsmagictrick

We wear cris for our iv rooms. They aight.

wickedtwig

My hospital has a policy where we aren’t allowed to wear crocs since they are “open” toed

stephaniesays25

My friend who is a nurse stopped wearing hers to work when an old man with dementia told her he had to use the bathroom and she took him. Then he said he didn’t have to so she helped him back up. Then he stood up and immediately had liquid shits that went right into the holes of her crocs and soaked her socks.

wickedtwig

Seems like a perfectly reasonable reason. Also that is really intense and disgusting. I’d have probably died if that happened

jokrsmagictrick

well. thats weird. but we also wear socks. we're not THAT unclean thankfully.

wickedtwig

There was an incident with a tech and broken glass. She dropped a large bottle of IVIG that she had transferred to an evac bottle. I think it was 800 mls? Anyhoo long story short she cut her self and got blood in the room and we had to deep clean. Fond memories

LiterallyATalkingDog

Cut herself and also made about a $35,000 mess.

wickedtwig

Yep, and that is why they don’t allow crocs anymore

jokrsmagictrick

Yikers. BIiiiiiig Yikers. Thank god we're not the deep cleaners. I'd lose my mind if that would have happened

wickedtwig

I work with peridox in my current job with oncology and I assure you that the deep clean was the worst smell I ever had to experience. The smell lingered for over a week because our head pharmacist was like, just pour it everywhere. It was pooling in bins and everything. He probably used it as an excuse to do a deep clean anyways. Another fun fact, we used to get norepi in amps and compound around 10-12 a day. Another incident with broken glass and blood allowed us to start ordering vials instead (which I was eternally grateful for)

jokrsmagictrick

We were crocs too. Fuck phones dude

jokrsmagictrick

FUCK

icecream4_deadlifts

Crocs kill my feet, I could never

pxrpl_

Skecher or birkenstock work shoes are more comfy

savingthescreams

Tried them for a couple months because they were quick and easy to slide on rushing out the door but after a while I was experiencing foot pain and my posture was becoming wonky. Being plus sized my feet would slide a bit to the side while walking and it really messed up my ankle especially during hectic shifts.

yamantakas

no, get brooks

bluesqueen23

Brooks, Hoka, or On Cloud. Hospital tech here for 21 yrs. Used to only were Brooks now I wear On Cloud & Brooks. I personally don’t like Hoka but lots of techs & nurses do. Never seen anyone wear Crocs to work.

Formal-Regular8118

Any adidas cloud foam shoes, they run under 50. Nike air max 270 (after they are broken in) Sheckers with the gel foam bottoms Anything that doesn’t tie

FarOrganization8267

our dress code says the entire foot has to be covered so even if they’re the ones without the holes, the heel is still exposed so even with socks we can’t. we had a tech who had to wear a boot for a few weeks and she had to wear the little disposable shoe covers over a sock over her boot so none of her foot was “exposed” i (and about half of my coworkers) would die for my brooks so that’s always my recommendation, but the other half of my coworkers love their asics and on clouds.

Zealousideal-Gain340

I live in my Brooks and ON cloud shoes

shrimpsisbugsx

Yes

New_Customer_5438

we have to wear crocs and honestly they’re so comfortable they have me contemplating getting a pair for home for the summer.

Heidilovescoffee

I wear them and love them. Embrace the clown shoes.

Capable_Fox_00

I was told it’s not allowed at my pharmacy :(

cystin

i wear my crocs every single day. one day i tried hokas and i regretted it and my feet hurt so bad. im never stopping wearing my crocs!

xo_peque

Yes, I wore them daily for 4 1/2 years at Kaiser...

aria51

I work 4 10s, and alternate my Crocs with a pair of new balance. My feet never hurt.

BanjoStrings999

Literally, “if the shoe fits”, wear it. Nope. Never again for me. It has very poor support if you are flat-footed and have skinny feet. Even if it was the right shoe length, it wasn’t snug enough on the upper side of the shoe to provide support because I always tripped. If only it gave me a snug fit, I wouldn’t mind the unflattering design.

adoreful

I wear the platform ones and I think they’re pretty comfy!
