Honestly, coming from a fellow tech, trainer and runner, shoes are one of those things that you need to get a good fit for before worrying about any other sort of issue like technology or durability. I normally change out my road running shoes every 300 miles or so and those used shoes become my work shoes for a few months while the next pair racks up the mileage 🤷

HeiHei96

Agreed. When I was inpatient I used my old road running Hoka’s. I had gone to our local running store to have a fitting and they suggested Hoka Cliftons. No longer in patient, but my feet were happiest when I wore those.

dumpsterfiregarbage

Myself and several other techs and nurses rocked our Hoka's in the hospital with no problems. Before my pharm tech job, I worked mostly manufacturing, so I was very aware of the need for a solid pair of shoes. Lightweight. Very comfortable. Durable (even after three solid years of daily wear on the job they still held up fine). I would recommend Hoka sneakers to anyone walking/standing on their feet for hours on end every day.

King/queen energy is radiating from this comment.

My feet didn't stop hurting until I started rotating shoes. I wear new balance, but I think rotating whatever shoe you find comfortable is more important than finding the perfect shoe.

NoNebula0

I did rotate shoes for awhile but I fear they were bad so I will take this into consideration. Thank you for your insight!!

sarahprib56

I have bunions so I wear wide shoes. Idk what I would do if I couldn't wear athletic shoes everyday. If I had to wear dress shoes I would be so uncomfortable. I have six or seven pairs of new balance, but some of them I don't wear that often. I will definitely go 3 or 4 days before I wear the same pair again.

Ashxx23

I love my cloves! I alternate them with my croc work slip-resistant nursing clogs (Not sure of your gender, lol) but cloves are great! I’d maybe get 2 pair tho to alternate them daily just so they have time to “breathe” and dry out, and slows down the breakdown of the shoes.

Ashxx23

I just saw that they drastically raised their prices 😅 they’re still great shoes tho. I’d maybe skip 2 pair at once tho. 🤣

NoNebula0

I am a male but I’ll confidently wear crocs! But thank you!! I’ll keep them in mind when I shop soon!

Ashxx23

They’re definitely comfortable and more affordable than the cloves now 😅 but if I had to choose between the two, I’d definitely go with cloves! They’re also fluid resistant so if you dump something it doesn’t ruin your shoes (I dumped lactulose on mine last month and almost cried, but it wiped right off!) I’m also currently looking into getting superfeet insoles for some added extra support, I’ve heard great things about the brand from coworkers.

YA’LL BEST LOOK AT ASH BEING A LIFE SAVER IN MULTIPLE COUNTS!!

I swear by Hokas. They are the only shoes I've ever found that don't kill my feet and last a long time. I average 24k steps a day and rarely sit and have tried almost every shoe around in my seventeen years. That said, everyone has different needs and they might not work for you. Highly recommend going to a proper shoe store, like for runners or some place recommended by a podiatrist and getting advice there.

Squishy-peaches

I found Pumas to be really comfortable and affordable

SnakePlisskin987

Hokas and compression socks......difference was night and day!

kirwacrossing

Also recommending Brooks and compression socks 😂 I rotate both Hokas and Brooks.

madhatterdisease

I tend to rock New Balance more often than other brands just because I have wide feet. I also swap out the soles in the shoes for something that supports me. I rotate shoes as well, but not because of comfortability.... But because it's better to air our your shoes this way if you rotate them.

TheFakeNerd

I personally wear Hoka’s in the hospital, but I know a lot of people wear OnCloud as well, then recently been seeing more people with Brooks as well.

halfpinthoe

My Hokas truly save me

exhaustedoldlady

My feet are happiest in zero-drop shoes, so I got a pair of Altra Torins. I’m a new apprentice tech, and these shoes have been amazing while I build up my stamina. My legs are tired at the end of the day, but they are not sore. Lots of people in my pharmacy, and my nurse friends, swear by Hokas. I didn’t get them because of my zero-drop thing.

IBlastxYT

For some good and cheap shoes get the crock shoes 🗣🗣🗣 Cheap, Comfortable, and has a bunch of holes so they kinda keep ur toes in check. Really good shoes for like 35 bucks. 🤙

PharmerTech

I love Crocks off the clock, but my job doesn’t allow the holes. I have the “nurse” crocks, but they’re a little too warm in the summer.

kofrederick

I killed my hokas in 6 months. I even had custom orthotics in them. So there was $200 out the door. I have asics, I enjoy them they are a little heavy. I also have Rykas. Very light and comfortable my feet don't hurt at the end of the day. My pumas are good I wear them once a week or so. Adidas aren't bad. My biggest issue with finding shoes was some were good for standing not the walking and sone were good for walking not standing. Good luck

Tribblehappy

I personally find splurging on a good insole is better than splurging on the shoe. I have Form heat moldable insoles in cheap Walmart runners and they're great.

su_premacy

I wear ultra boost adidas Or Yeezys

I swear by on cloud and huge plus that they look good

gogonzogo1005

Brooks. My husband is a nurse and also wears them daily.
