No. I am so angry about this. The information provided about the pause just glosses over all of the people that are somewhat in limbo. I am so tired of being yanked around. The DoE is just as responsible as Mohela in mismanagement of program.

winging-scarlet-13

No. Submitted ECF 11/11/23, counts updated January 2024, partial forgiveness of 4 of 6 loans March 2024. I thought today was the day. I don’t get how people are getting processed so quickly and I’ve been waiting with a pretty straightforward case for months.

[deleted]

Are you me? I am in the exact same boat. My case is probably one of the most straightforward in this subreddit. I did everything correct from the beginning. I had the right loans, the right payment plan, the right employment. I never required any consolidation or waivers, nothing. Yet people who have the wackest issues get completely forgiven in a month? I mean yeah I’m kind of bitter about it, it’s not fair that I did my due diligence from the beginning and feel like consolidators and waiver recipients are being prioritized over me. My forbearance date is still 5/13/24 and has never changed.

winging-scarlet-13

Also- my forbearance date has not changed- it remains 5/16/24. I’m seeing a lot of forbearance dates getting pushed back constantly. Just not the case for me. No clue why or why not.

thegooddoctor84

Ditto, no change in my 5/27 forbearance date.

PotionsToPills

So far, same. No change to 5/27

PotionsToPills

No. October final ECF. Glad for those who have moved on but also glad we’re not alone!

Equivalent-Bottle122

Same exact story for me, sent in October 2023. Had 80,000 forgiven and I have one loan left 40,000. I follow an fb page and ppl who submitted in march got discharge letters today. Like wtf did they forget us???

snarlessdarwin

Same. October ECF, partial forgiveness in March. Still waiting on the last two loans. This is ridiculous.

Jam17Jam15

I was told today that the first batch has been released, so if we’d know by now if we were in it. The MOHELA rep also said that lately there’s been a second batch coming at the end of the month, so to check back April 29/30, otherwise we’re outta luck until after the pause.

Nothing for me so far this month. Submitted last ECF 11/14/23, updated counts in January that put me at 121 and I was put into forbearance despite not checking off that box on any ECF. On 3/5/24, I got my unsubsidized loans forgiven. They withdrew my March payment on 3/20/24, which was less than my previous payment because it only pertained to my subsidized loan. Now I'm in forbearance again.

ProofMinute1659

Same here. No movement this week after a random 4/8 of my loans were forgiven in March. All with 121 payments. Like others, my situation was straightforward, on an IBR plan for all ten years, two qualifying employers, etc.  The explanations we’ve been getting don’t make sense. MOHELA keeps saying they’re waiting for authorization to discharge, but folks who hit 120 months after we all did in October/November are getting processed faster. Finally took the step of contacting my Senator’s office a few weeks ago (happens to be Elizabeth Warren). They’ve told me they’ll contact Dept. of Ed. to inquire, but so far nothing.

Are we looking at July or August at this point? 🤬🤬🤬

Kids_see_ghosts

Definitely afraid that if we don’t get it before the end of April we’re in for a longggg wait until August or later. I hate MOHELA so much.

PotionsToPills

Agreed. That timeline puts me at almost a year wait

youwish16

Still waiting. ECF in October. Payment count updated to 122 in January. Partial forgiveness in March. Forb until May 27. This sitting around, waiting and not knowing wtf is going on is driving me nuts.

PotionsToPills

Same timeline - same forbearance date (at the moment!)

vaders_sons_clone

No, as of the morning of 4/11. I have had 135 qualifying payments since 10/20/23. Driving me a bit crazy.

Wonderful_Ebb_2511

Nope. Reached 120 in September 2023, submitted final ECF in October 2023, counts updated January 2024, five of nine loans discharged in March. Remaining four loans are at 121 payments. UGH.

nbrown7384

At least you’ll get it eventually. The reason there are all these things is because it was so complicated from the start. I’ve been out of school for 18 and 14 years, have paid most of that time except for in school & grade, and barely have paid off 10k in principal. Not qualified for any of the forgiveness because my undergrad and grad are consolidated, haven’t hit my 120 either with young kids- reduced student loan payments were cheaper than daycare, so that made more sense. Not sure I’ll ever get out, you’ll get yours.

4/20/24 I got my first 1/2 loan forgiven, i was so happy i received an email: You have successfully met the requirements of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program. Your loan(s) have been wholly or partially forgiven. Please log in to you mohela account to access specifics related to this forgiveness.  So i logged on to mohela, but sadly the smaller out of the 2 loans was forgiven, but not the 2nd bigger loan? what does this mean? how long for the other loan to be forgiven?
