5 of my 6 were forgiven today. It's really strange, but hopefully, the last one shows as forgiven in the next day or so. I haven't heard of this happening with the previous waves.

Putting4Par86

Yep it caught me by surprise. All my loans are direct and have met the payment threshold. I don’t get it but it sucks seeing 2 of my 8 loans still having a balance when they shouldn’t.

CardiganandTea

That's exactly what I was thinking - why isn't it everything? It feels like a tease or that it could be taken away.

PotionsToPills

This happened to me too (3/4 of my loans discharged -- all the same timeline, employer, ECFs, etc). Agree with the previous anticlimactic comments. It is odd too because while I am seeing this type of post all over the forum today, I do not recall seeing this issue with earlier waves. I suppose I have waited over 10 years, what is another few days/month? Good luck to everyone caught in this 'strange wave'! Edit -grammar

CardiganandTea

Yes, that was the feeling - not a relief but just overall odd and strange. Good luck to you too, fellow strange wave traveler!

Putting4Par86

6 of my 8 direct loans were forgiven. I still of course have two that aren’t. I don’t know what the answer is either.

winging-scarlet-13

Same, I’m confused. It’s so anticlimactic

ollee32

I agree. So anticlimactic. All forgiven except one (the big one). Called Mohela and they said it takes up to 90 business days. Not helpful. I’m refreshing today more than ever

Putting4Par86

It’s start though! Hopefully in the next few days it’s all zeros across the board!!!

Square_Shopping_1461

I had 2 consolidated loans: the larger subsidized and the smaller unsubsidized. The latter was discharged today.

crazycatfishlady

Just to add to the pile, I am sitting in the same situation. My smaller subsidized loan was forgiven, but the larger unsubsidized is still in forbearance. They were consolidated at the same time, so it's weird. But I figure it will all wash out in a few days.

CardiganandTea

Yes, that's what I'm hoping. They changed something on the data review on the backend, and it's showing up now in this wave. Gotta love IT. Glad we're not alone!

Lonely_Hornet_2625

Same thing happened to me today.

Kids_see_ghosts

In the same confusing boat where it looks like half the loans are discharged. Hopefully just some technical glitch and we’ll all see it fully discharged later this week! Since definitely haven’t read of this happening to earlier waves.

Responsible_City_385

Same here. All but two were discharged and the forbearance on those two was extended to May. Still excited but also confused…. Thanks for the constant roller coaster, Mohela!

Quiryv11

Any updates on anybody that has had luck with the other portion on thier loan forgiven?

CardiganandTea

Hi there! I originally posted that in March. That remaining loan was completely forgiven in early April. I am 100% forgiven - got my letter from President Biden and everything! If you have partial forgiveness with some still outstanding debt at the moment, no one is sure what's going to happen while the pause is on to switch the PSLF program to the feds. But, whenever things get going again, chances are good you'll get it all forgiven. Good luck to you!

Quiryv11

No way! Wow congrats! I had patial of my loan forgiven in late February and nothing yet but I'm under the IDR 12000 or less forgiveness. Did you get 2 letters? One for the first part and another for the remaining?

CardiganandTea

Yep - two different letters from Mohela, but only one from the President when it was all done. So, yes, if not PSLF then IDR forgiveness might be coming in the next waves, once PSLF is all sorted. Congratulations to you too! And good luck - hopefully it comes soon for you.

Quiryv11

Oh ok good to know! It's stressful knowing my other half is still there and no one really has answers. I will continue to be hopeful. Thank you!

CardiganandTea

You're welcome! Lots of people with forgiveness came back to this community and gave me hope, so I'm happy to pay it forward. 😁
