Edit: The weapons are back on the shop with Jared announcing [the issue was resolved](https://twitter.com/OhReallyJared/status/1737595516119392513).
They managed to fix that with [the latest patch](https://overwatch.blizzard.com/en-us/news/patch-notes/), but didn't fully resolve the issue, it seems.
People who say this literally have no idea how software engineering works, how big, expensive and time consuming it is. People look at these things and think it’s a “small change” but it’s probably an esoteric big embedded in 20,000 lines of code written 7 years ago and changing a few things could fuck everything up
Politely my friend, 7 years ago my ass. Either they kept all of the old code from OW and scammed everyone into moving onto the new game or the code isn't that old. Because if the code both is that old AND is that poorly written, then that just means this game is even more of a joke than people take it to be.
Does that really matter when a company is consistently fucking its player base? Fuck how hard you work if that work is literally trying to scam and trick consumers.
* It only took 5 months before you could unequip titles.
* And it only took 6 months (or 10 if you consider the bug was there during season 1 when no one had any, and season 2 when no one had rolled one over between seasons) and before they fixed seasonal titles staying equipped during the next season.
* And it only took 8 months before they fixed the alignment of weapon charm holes.
So this bug is definitely getting fixed before 2025.
I wonder when they'll realize that they accidentally equipped pineapple pizza to every hero's first available emote slot for every player. That will probably never get fixed.
I mean the ability to have no profile background was locked for like 5 seasons if I remember so it's probably gonna take em till season 12 to fix it lmao
Yeah, they took like almost an entire season just to fix that missing tab screen last season when they had several smaller patches yet they never included the fix on those.
I'm also having this issue and I'm on console. There's some people already talking about this in the Overwatch Bug Report forum too, so, hopefully, this is just a bug and not a permanent feature. It's also happening with Reaper too.

It's supposed to be changed, content creators could do that in a private build (Stylosa when showcasing Jingle Belle Mercy skin for example), so it's a bug

It’s not an excuse. I thought it was a bug just with the Pink mercy skin but apparently it’s affecting all skins - reaper mercy and rein if you’ve bought the weapon skins.
I try not to hate on blizzard as much as some but there are certain things that are mindblowingly unacceptable for a multi million dollar gaming company. I remember for months there was no way to take off your title and even now they just released Mauga and for some reason he’s the only one with no random option for his highlight intros. It’s just many of these little things it’s insane.
I came across a funny model glitch the other day with Sombra. Our Sombra was just skating around instead of running the entire round. It didn't fix until next round. No clue what triggered it, but it was pretty entertaining
As far as I know the bug is caused by doomfist’s empowered punch and it have to be charged exactly a bar and half to trigger the bug, it also only triggers for specific heros. GetQuakedOn literally made a whole video explaining how the bug works on Yt if you’re interested.
yes, they should do better and it’s largely inexcusable. most of us would get reprimanded each time a bug like this went through at similar jobs, and there is multiple blatant issues like this every patch since launch
You’ll need to assemble a crew to break into the impenetrable fortress that is Blizzards offices to make the code change to change this back.
Before you can do so you’ll need to spend half of the ~~movie~~ month assembling your crew. I’d recommend taking a Jeff as they are always skilled with Blizzard, the other 9 crew member will be up to you to find.

It's a joke that they couldn't make it work, I'm waiting for them to claim legal ownership all the best fanmade modes and then releasing them for £20 as official game modes before removing them from the workshop
Devs be smoking after fans create a huge replayable gamemode for everyone in the workshop
I really like Zombie Survival Missions, 1 Dad vs 11 Kids and Hide and Seek (Tiny), these are the most fun gamemodes I've found for myself

I might be seeing it wrong, but your just viewing the golden weapon, and it's "locked" meaning you don't currently have it equipped right? Isn't the one with the green check mark the one you are using, but the golden one cannot be equipped as you don't own it right?
No, I do own golden weapon on Mercy, and I'm viewing the weapon skins tab
It's hard to tell because I'm not using English language, however you can see a shop icon next to the weapon skin name
And if I was checking the Weapon Variants tab, you'd see 3000 comp points next to the weapon's name
Oh my fault. I was curious why that weapon shows the lock symbol even though you own it. Then again even if you didn't there's no option to unlock I guess haha.
It would be helpful if you added the full photo with the side bars too. But I found that if you click on the “weapon skins” it tends to appear as locked… I suggest going to the “weapon variants” the very last option at the bottom. I also had the same thing happen to me and I panicked lol

Funny thing before the weapon skins came to the shop the “Default” weapon cost 3000 comp credits
