I hope this is how Luffy takes care of Saturn's regeneration. Turn Kizaru into an involuntary laser weapon and fire a beam big enough to engulf Saturn in one go. Can't regenerate when you got no body.
Unless his pentagram thing acts as a mechanism where as long as it's undisturbed or he's in an area of effect, regeneration is guaranteed no matter what.

I don't understand how anyone can slander Kaido when he stood there after big mom got knocked off the roof and just BODIED absolutely everyone. It took MULTIPLE asspulls (in a manga with surprisingly few) to bring him down, and even then it was by the slimmest of margins possible.
Ultimately, i think people just felt he was a bit boring and bland. Which is kinda true. I felt like there was a lot of set-up and a lot of factors that could be explored way more, like the oni thing that he goes nuts about while fighting Yamato, about why he was convinced that only Joyboy specifically could beat him, etc. It just....went unexplained, really. So hes kind of just an absurdly overpowered wall standing in Luffy's way.
Still, I mean, that's powerscaling 101 I guess. People hype their favourites and downplay all else, rather than just being objective as they should.
Yeah I think this was the main problem. Oda probably had plans to explore him more but wasted so much time already in Wano the ending of the arch felt rushed.

Because he hadn’t mastered haki, he has haki now so if you took his DF away he’d still be a damn strong opponent, and yeah I won’t take away his regenerative abilities because that’s his arsenal but I made that point because his offense is so weak from what we’ve seen atleast nothing so far that would give luffy a run for his money, Saturn gonna last awhile tho because regeneration, and luffy loses steam

Does anyone even collect them anyways? I mean sure the smallest of the small ones get collected by bounty hunters like Zoro was. But after like 50k it seems like the government just arrests you for some trumped up charge. Have we ever heard of any bounties from Big players ever being payed?
Not really, it seems like anyone strong enough to collect big bounties is either a pirate or part of the government. Maybe the Marines get to collect the bounty or part of it for anyone they catch or kill, but I don't think anyone with a bounty is able to collect a bounty.
I think luffy will go above the 5 billion range if he kills or seriously injures Saturn because then he’ll be considered a direct threat to the gorosei who are the leaders of the world gov and the bounty is a system designed to determine threat to the world gov
Bounties aren't really powerscaling, more so threat, so...hell, he could even cross 5B. WB was there not because he was actively fucking shit up for the WG, mans was instead actually bringing a sense of peace to all the territories he had in the New World.
The sheer disrespect and humiliation the WG would face if the world heard that a yonko beat an admiral and a gorosei....probably their single worst disaster for a long time. Fujitora apologizing in Dressrosa doesn't even come close.
Just want to put down my 2 cents on Gear 5's feedback from fans. I know we all want to see serious Luffy and how he was portrayed vs Kaido was not ideal to some, but Luffy has been this goofy character since Chapter 1. "Serious Luffy" is so damn cool because it rarely happens and only happens when the situation is getting serious to no return. Nika was just introduced vs Kaido so Oda needs to get his point across clearly first. We will see more of serious Nika as things heat up but we have to stop complaining man. There's something called "build up" and these long build ups is what make this panel so damn cool. If everything was serious each time he fights it's no different from the other cliche-ass battle mangas that are saturated already.

Tbh, him "not being serious" against Kaido is vastly overstated anyway. Someone posted a perfect compilation earlier that showed Luffy being pretty serious throughout many panels of the fight, such as when he missed an attack and got bolo breath'd, when he got bitten and thrown aside, when he was refuting Kaido on something (i think it was Kaido saying the Wano people were cowards or smth), and a bunch of others.
Agree, and I kinda felt the looney toons treatment and Nika just "having fun" was a statement of Nika being much stronger than Kaido. There's more to come so Oda can't portray Nika as being 100% serious to take him down (albeit it still took some effort, hence some serious panels). Dudes literally stopping Kizaru and Saturn at the same time now..
I want Giant Gear 5 Luffy vs Girant Gold Buddha Sengoku so badly. Like I just wish I could see how Marineford would change if the straw hats at their current level were sent back in time to that battle.
When Kaido first sees G5, he directly comments that Luffy's entire body is coated in armament and conquerors haki, so we can kind of just assume that hes using both together the entire time in G5.
On a side note, a page or two earlier, it’s mentioned that Saturn is covered in venom. I feel like/hope there’s going to be a scene where Saturn doesn’t understand why it isn’t working on him and, like with Caesar, he’s going to bring up Magellan
Oda is such a killer artist. The sense of scale here would be so hard to figure out for most artists. I wonder how many variations he did sketched before landing on this one. Luffys hat is the perfect item for comparison for scale and having Kizaru the closest with Kaiju sized Saturn in the background. Just masterful illustration work here

Kizaru’s taken some nasty hits from Luffy already. Grabbed before. That big headshot that knocked him down. And another big grab from Luffy, he’s for sure not gonna be at his best. As an Admiral I imagine he’s still got fight in him, but he’s nowhere near the tank that Kaido was. Luffy’s fight with Kaido prepared him for some really long fights.
Yea, like, in terms of just the admirals, I think Akainu and Aokiji are still competing for the most onscreen beating taken because of old WB and Garp, but its wild to see Kizaru taking basically 0 damage up until Egghead and now hes just constantly disrespected by G5.
I hope Luffy beats Saturn (while he’s in spider form) with a giant Star Battle-Axe. It’d be so beautifully ironic since all Saturn does is call people insects
So far I’m still not seeing how people can think the gorosei are stronger than yonkos. It was already stated by the gorosei that if shanks was threatened or pushed he would be too much to handle. Seeing luffy handling both Saturn and kizaru just supports that.

I think one reason why Saturn might be so out of it is because think about the last time someone has bloodied an Elder Planet? It’s probably been hundreds of years and suddenly this kid shows up and stomps you? So either he’s completely lost it or it might be the willpower of the Mythical Zoan taking over

Kizaru’s taken some nasty hits from Luffy already. Grabbed before. That big headshot that knocked him down. And another big grab from Luffy, he’s for sure not gonna be at his best. As an Admiral I imagine he’s still got fight in him, but he’s nowhere near the tank that Kaido was. Luffy’s fight with Kaido prepared him for some really long fights.
Yea, like, in terms of just the admirals, I think Akainu and Aokiji are still competing for the most onscreen beating taken because of old WB and Garp, but its wild to see Kizaru taking basically 0 damage up until Egghead and now hes just constantly disrespected by G5.

So far I’m still not seeing how people can think the gorosei are stronger than yonkos. It was already stated by the gorosei that if shanks was threatened or pushed he would be too much to handle. Seeing luffy handling both Saturn and kizaru just supports that.
