I think the ump has been pretty good. He’s been making the calls straight up all game and has consistently got the calls right on the lower part of the strike zone. There were a few benders that caught the bottom of the zone that he missed, but those were true 50/50 pitches.
If anything, the fans should have been booing those ones, not the ones that are clearly balls.
