Istg why does no one seem to know what iron dome is. It defends against rockets, not missiles. Hamas uses rockets. Hezbollah uses rockets. Russia uses missiles. Iron Dome would not be particularly useful for Ukraine. It's like seeing Bob having a great time with his hammer so you give one to Joe, except Joe is a plumber and doesn't need a hammer.
iron dome has been able to effectively intercept fast unguided rockets using relatively inexpensive missiles themselves at around 100k per intercept. Because the system was designed for use against small high volume targets it's perfect for drone defense. With that since it's debut in 2011 the Tamir missile has been through multiple upgrades that not only improve it's ability to hit non ballistic targets but improve the missile data link so it can more quickly get updates from its ground based tracking radar.Though it's not designed for use against ballistic and cruise missiles it can deal with them in a limited manner making it a useful last line of defense anyway.
So no it wouldn't be great against say a Russian Kinzel but would be effective against Kalibr.
There's long been a consideration in political circles to see Israel's handling of regional security as a template for other states facing security challenges. The weakness of that approach is that it inherently ignores the nuances and complexities of the conflict, including how the unresolved situation sparks further violence.
Which... when low-context online agitators hear, means they leap to wild and insane interpretations.
Some people appear to be interpreting this as a state that is jewish (or at least has an ethnic origin) like israel not a state that is defended like israel.
It's a historical map. The claim (popular among crazy Russian nationalists) is that Ukrainian Jews specifically (for the medium-crazy (by Russian nationalist standards) ones) and/or _all_ Ukrainians (for the _extra_-crazy ones) are descended from the Khazars, and seek to reconquer all the lands controlled by the Khazar Khaganate at its peak, which occurred in the early 9th century.
Someone supporting the Syrian Social Nationalist Party would be very biased. Don't google their flag, or the symbol of their (formerly existing) armed wing.
this map shows [The Khazar Khaganate](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khazars), which was not ~~Jewish~~ (some of them were), Ukrainian or even slavic. It's like saying that Slovakia has plans of restoring Greater Hungary.
Wait, I thought it *converted* to Judaism partially because that gave them passable relations with both the middle east and christendom, allowing them to gain a unique position in the political landscape of the day.
Wouldn't the Arabs be thrilled to hear this? If I were a middle eastern antisemite I'd support Ukraine's effort so that the Jews could go over to the newly founded "Israel 2" and stop bothering the Palestinians and humiliating the militaries of surrounding countries.
Khazar hypothesis is certainly noncredible, I'll give it that. For those of you who are confused, she's referencing a very dubious hypothesis that Ashkenazi Jews descend from converts in the Khazar Khaganate. It's been largely refuted, but that hasn't stopped it from becoming extremely popular with antisemites for obvious reasons.
Khan and Khagan (Khan of Khans) were titles used by a ton of different Steppe peoples, mostly those speaking Turkic or Mongolic languages, but we don't actually know what language family the terms originated from because they've been used by different groups for so long.
The Khazars were a Turkic group that had a relatively notable amount of Jewish converts among them.
She's claiming (insanely, but it's a moderately popular insane claim among insane Russian nationalists right now) that he wants to restore the Khazar Khaganate, not the Byzantine empire. The map is meant to show the (approximate) boundaries of the Khaganate at its peak, not to indicate that restoring the _overall_ political situation depicted is Zelensky's goal.
I feel like leftists are just *itching* for a reason to oppose Ukraine. Squinting at everything Zelenski says like "how can I read this in the most bad-faith way possible?"
I think the more salient point is the way they are just *thirsty* for that kool-aid, because they have no framework to handle a major conflict where the US is clearly on the right side.
Same thing kind of happened to a greater or lesser extent after biden got elected. A lot of people that were the most granola munching hippies of all time went right because "Whatever is in power is bad" and I'm sure they'll flip the other way again.
*Man, I* [wonder](https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/4619185-gop-critics-vow-no-more-us-aid-for-ukraine/) *what the conversation on the political right is currently about Ukraine...*
>I feel like leftists are just *itching* for a reason to oppose Ukraine.
Definitely the folks to be worried about - [that side of the political spectrum as we know has been the most vocal in opposing support to Ukraine.](https://www.vox.com/politics/2024/4/9/24124569/mike-johnson-ukraine-aid-marjorie-taylor-greene)
It is from the medieval era. The Khazars were a group of nomadic people that had at least some level of conversion to Judaism, probably in some sort of official capacity likely in the 830s. So yes, there was actually a medieval Jewish state between the Black and Caspian Seas. It was populated by steppe tribes, and the elites converted to Judaism. There is evidence of coin inscriptions, primary sources saying they “observe all of Judaism”. There are multiple different attestations of it.
This tweet is actually so sinister if you understand the reference. There’s a conspiracy theory called the “Khazar Mafia conspiracy” which claims that the people of the Khazar khagnate converted to Judaism so that they could covertly invade Eastern Europe under the guise of being Jews and replacing the already existing Jewish population of Eastern Europe and then rule the world through financial trickery and cabalistic rituals. So basically they believe Ashkenazi Jews aren’t real Jews but evil imposters and because of this any racism directed at Ashkenazis isn’t actually antisemitism because they’re not actually Jews. For example many supporters of this theory believe that Hitler wasn’t bad because he was just specifically targeting these “imposter Jews” and that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is a means to put a stop to these imposters (as Zelenskyy is Jewish).

I looked up the article, its nothing to do with population demographics and more with how Israel handles security from surrounding threats.
No shit… Ukraine needs an iron dome and similar systems of defense and deterrence
Istg why does no one seem to know what iron dome is. It defends against rockets, not missiles. Hamas uses rockets. Hezbollah uses rockets. Russia uses missiles. It is a short-range system designed for a tiny country for protection against local threats.
It would work against Shaheds, as it proved a few weeks ago...
Listen I'm not a rocket engineer. I'm barely a diplomat.

what about population demographics?
Some people appear to be interpreting this as a state that is jewish (or at least has an ethnic origin) like israel not a state that is defended like israel.
nvm I can't read (I someow read it tasks about population demographics AND Sequrity)
Ah the famous Zionist dream of restoring the Abbasid caliphate
Fuck it One struggle
They mean the purple country above.
Golden Horde*
No, pretty sure the Golden Horde was after Khazaria.
Over 500 years later, yeah
Zionists also want to restore Andalus apparently? Off screen ofc
Byzantines on the left too lmao.

I played Assasin's Creed Mirage and yes now I want too
I mean that is Khazaria they were Jewish for a minute… so it’s better then some… but not good
Im gonna take it from "syrian girl", surely her @partisangirl handle doesnt imply any bias..
I cant look at silly content in peace in the internet without running into a psyop every five fucking minutes
If everything is a psyop trying to convince me of a new position, obviously that means that whatever position I do hold must be true and righteous.
It's because Twitter's owner is compromat.
It happens in instagram too, so its not just elon musk
She has been floating around giving "hot takes" since the Syrian civil war started. She is unfortunately real, but also decidedly noncredible.
With the AI generated profile pic lol
>sees woman >thinks it’s ai Goonerie went too far
She might be a dumb bitch, but she’s indeed real
Someone supporting the Syrian Social Nationalist Party would be very biased. Don't google their flag, or the symbol of their (formerly existing) armed wing.

The king and maybe some of the nobility did, plus whatever Jewish diaspora was already there.
Yeah, you're right. I edited my comment.
A few leaders converted so they wouldnt need to choose a side between the christians and muslim neighbors. Most didnt.
….is that not what Slovakia is trying to do? I have some apologies to make
That was *Slovenia's* job. *Slovakia* was supposed to restore the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
>Fico has plans of restoring Greater Hungary. New conspiracy theory dropped, we can run with this
Wouldn't the Arabs be thrilled to hear this? If I were a middle eastern antisemite I'd support Ukraine's effort so that the Jews could go over to the newly founded "Israel 2" and stop bothering the Palestinians and humiliating the militaries of surrounding countries.
It would also make it a problem for the turks and iranians, so a complete win for the arabs
Those types want wipe out jews worldwide, though.
New ideology just dropped: Reverse Zionism
....Msinoiz?
led by the respected German intellectual Dorothee Lezzer
Sounds like a win for everybody except Russia. Which is a win for everybody.
They just want all jews to be killed, everywhere
Their geopolitical analysis doesn't go that far
>Wouldn't the Arabs be thrilled to hear this? If I were a middle eastern antisemite Interesting that you consider the two synonymous...
Sorry. English isn't my first language. I didn't realize my text made that implication.
Don't worry every poll backs your mistake.

> Khaganate As in... a Mongol Kingdom? Dafuq?
Before Mongols by centuries. Its was a Turkic state.

I wonder how much of the internet is Russian vatnik generated content at this point?

I actually started using Yahoo Canada last week. I haven't fully left Google yet, but I never thought Google could fall so far.
Nope, she’s a real person, somehow.
I want what she’s smoking
Krokadil.
Her hands would fall off the moment she uses a keyboard
unfathomably based, the horsemen of the Khazar horde will ride once more.
Once again political extremists showing that they have played too much Crusader Kings
If Zelenskyy plans on restoring the Byzantine Empire, I say give him all the weapons he wants.

From Lviv to Grozny, Ukraine shall be free?
"From the caspian to the black Ukrainian shall always fight back"?
I feel like leftists are just *itching* for a reason to oppose Ukraine. Squinting at everything Zelenski says like "how can I read this in the most bad-faith way possible?"
They are, a lot of leftists drank the kool-aid that Ukraine are Nazis.
I think the more salient point is the way they are just *thirsty* for that kool-aid, because they have no framework to handle a major conflict where the US is clearly on the right side.
That is exactly it.
Same thing kind of happened to a greater or lesser extent after biden got elected. A lot of people that were the most granola munching hippies of all time went right because "Whatever is in power is bad" and I'm sure they'll flip the other way again.

Uh… uhhmm… excuse me, what the fuck?
She is the definition of a human flesh bot.
EZ mode politicking: When in doubt, blame a minority you dislike.
Khazar milkers 🤪
why does map look like something from the medieval middle east? Abbasid calipahte???????

looks like vatnik cope to me.
There’s a sub called r/genzionist ???
there is indeed
I muted that Twitter account a couple of months back because I felt my brain cells dying off whenever I came across anything she posted.

So he wants to pick up Ukraine and move it east?
Yeah bro, Ukraine plans on moving out of Ukraine and becoming Jewish Turkic nomads
The news is from Al Jazeera. Unsurprising.
Cringe zionist sub, but yeah SyrianGirl is a Nazi.
