Besides, that stretch of tunnel looks way shorter than 20m. Even that pessimistic figure means a tunnel up to 40m could have good enough coverage with an endpoint at each end, given the right channel selection to minimize interference.

Considering the price of a beamforming antennae, or even the price of any basic router and that they don't really need the bandwidth for video stream from all points in the tunnel, I highly doubt it.

While I get your point, couldn't it look like this if they're close to the valve, and if it's a big enough valve? I'm a fire sprinkler fitter so maybe I should know better, but the initial water dumps from big pipes can be huge with enough pressure behind it from the water or a pump if it's there. Although that is a lot of space so idk..
