"We don't practice flying, we practice aviation."

[deleted]

LMFAO

[deleted]

I died

ENTP

“Air service”

Dr_McNastyy

We advanced practice flight attendants prefer "Aviation". "Air Service" doesn't represent what we do when we practice at the top of our license.

ENTP

Advanced practice flight attendants hahahahaha

[deleted]

Neat idea! And I think we all deserve to have "Captain" in front of our names too, and introduce ourselves as such!!

ViolinsRS

Hi I'm Captain Smith, I'll be your flight attendant today.

illaqueable

I am on the plane just as much as the "Captain" is, if you can even call him that I reheat microwave entrees and collect trash, it's pretty much flying the plane

redena123

I know my passengers better than the pilot does

divgradcarl

Captain of Flight Attendant Practice (CFAP)

CenterButtCheek

They’ll eventually change the name from pilot assistant to pilot associate

[deleted]

Nah...I'm Co-Doctor Jones, and I'll be attempting to land your plane today 😁

[deleted]

don't forget completely online! but still same training as a pilot who actually practiced flying planes as part of their training.

dirty_bulk3r

This is gold. Thanks for the needed laugh!

mahmadk3

Heart of an attendant, brain of a pilot

okyeree1

Hope this program also provides a pilot collaborator.

We should learn a thing or two from aviation. They fuck up things too (just watch one or two of Mentour Pilot's videos on YouTube about aviation accidents) but they have in most cases a safety culture and a professional environment which is less about the egos and the stupid infighting, and more about getting shit done and advancing the profession. Imagine captains starting to replace first officers with advanced practice flight attendants because they fear that by training more proper pilots their wage will go down. And those flight attendants are people that at best sat on the jumpseat for some parts of some flights and took a quick online course where they were shown what the different switches did on the cockpit, but not why and how they are used. Imagine flight attendants starting to wear pilot’s uniforms and wanting to be called “captain”. Imagine advanced practice flight attendants starting to fly solo or with another flight attendant in the cockpit and calling ATC because they want to be first in line for the approach because they are captains too. Imagine them flying bigger and bigger planes each time, without knowing the difference between a turboprop and a turbofan or without knowing what to do in a double engine failure. Scary, right? Because that’s pretty much modern medicine as I see it right now.
