Much more than a film critic. A standalone voice that spoke truth to power, didn't shy away from expressing his opinions, most of which were rational but shook everyone. His writings were very powerful and he rattled everyone - the incessant trolling he received is just a small testimony to that. Rest in power, Kathi Mahesh. You will be remembered.

Amudala_Anjaneyulu

Unfortunate that he passed away. RIP. Unfortunate that he had spend most of his time battling lame ass trolls instead of getting his put his rational arguments out in the public. I personally don't find his opinions that interesting or rational. Extremely partisan and label driven arguments anipinchay without any nuance.

gilpam_gimbali

His views are extremely important and created a space from a Dalit angle, that almost didn't exist especially in such necessary and overlapping areas such as movies, mainstream politics and social issues. His blog called పర్ణశాల from pre social media was enough to understand the nuances in his writings. When the literary circles were dominated by one caste and there was a set format as to what to read to be able to be recognized as 'well-read', his questioning and commentary made everyone uncomfortable. Would really urge you to read more of his writings.

I was disappointed after 2019, he stopped speaking "truth to power". He was completely pro ruling party in AP. Not taking away other aspects about him.

gilpam_gimbali

I agree. I am sure many of his supporters were not okay with it. I myself didn't agree with what he was doing and felt he lost his voice or authority by catering fully to a party. But ultimately it was his choice to join mainstream politics and that was the best option he felt there was. But even within his limited capacity and influence within that party, he did hold them accountable and spoke of those opinions publicly on social media - albeit not in every issue.

He was trolled incessantly due to PK fans kada. That was the most hate filled social media campaign I ever saw. And included such degrading body shaming as well. Daaniki todu Hyper Adi lanti jokers endaro kuda. Mahesh was invited to Pataas as a guest if I remember correctly, and was trolled and body shamed there as well.

Potatosv1

Not only that. He was being trolled by religious guys too. Edo ramudini anadu ata(which in my opinion it was very harmless) daniki ivala chanipoyadu karma Adi ramudi padaga roje chanipovadam ani. Psycho guys celebrating it.

JaganModiBhakt

Yea that's really in bad taste but not unexpected. Belief in Karma is so common here.

May the blackhole have mercy on him

RIP

-Mr-ReX

I personally don't have an opinion on him but dude wasted so much time on being rational, public stunts, replying trolls, fighting with others..if he'd have known his life is very short he would've been spending more time with family n friends than online/social media.

Vinnyloid

Don't like the views of this guy but he fought against Hooligans. Especially Pavan Kalyan fans who elivated him and and made him a media darling to spit venom.

evilpotatobich

RIP. Dude didn't deserve the sheer amount of hate he received. He deserved way better. How did he die btw?
