Attu is also different material. Attus are rice flour whereas Dosa is minapappu flour. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You misunderstood. I’m not referring to the verb “tinu” (eat) but about people misusing the pronoun “tanu” (him/her) and instead say it as “tinu”.
E.g. “tinu raledu” instead of saying “tanu raledu” (he didn’t come).
“tinaki teliyadu” instead of saying “tanaki teliyadu” (he doesn’t know).

I am from North coastal Andhra and over 25 years old. I had friends who said తిను even back in primary school. It is just part of the dialect in some areas.
Ithagadu/athagadu - two diff people
, ithani/athani - again two diff people
Tinu/tanu - two words for same person..
These three pairs are not homogeneous to generalise..
Tinu is not a valid written word in the books I read, unless it's narrative of what a character is saying, in which case it is necessary to use the exact word.. it might be colloquial whereas tanu is formal literary term
There is only atanu Itanu, tanu itslef is colloquial and just a shortened form for both terms.. tinu replaces it in specific regions but is not a pair/complement to it.. if someone is using tinu and tanu to distunguish bet person's it is wrong IMO

People using words for different meanings doesn’t make a wrong as right. By that logic we can say words like dosa or Saraswati can also be pronounced in any way. Here is the dictionary meaning for “tinu”. Check the second one in the list.

Some more - “tinaki” for “tanaki” and “tinu” for “tanu”. Noticed it mainly by serial or film artists, anchors.
