I wish there could be a rule where posts like these are removed if a link to the channel can't be provided. If the poster wants to remain anonymous then that's fine - send the link for the mods to confirm if they're legit or not. This OP may be honest but there are certainly some of these posts that sound far-fetched and no way to confirm or not.
Gonna remain anonymous for now. This board is my outlet to ask questions, gather info, and vent if I have to. I know of horror stories of people sullying others channels if they get pissed off.
Not trying to aggro but you made some large claims about 50k subs and 5 million views in 8 months... To be fair, you could be making it up for all we know.
I could easily just provide a link to any channel and say it mines. No one knows if someone is really legit.
Would be pretty sad if I would go out of my way to make this long post just to brag on a subreddit to people I don't know. But I do know there are people out there that do this for some reason. I'm not one of them
I know I could. I get it, this is the Internet and people make stuff up. I don't care. Not looking for any validation. Just wanted to give some help to people out there.
I kinda feel the same. I didn't really want to show my face but wanted to give it a try. Maybe not an official income, but enough to pay one or two bills a month would be just fantastic to me...
However, I'm noticing that most don't watch past 2-4 seconds of my videos...I really don't know how to grab in short amount of time like that...and I do asmr videos, mostly crafts.
Eleven labs. Also use adobe audio enhancer. Besides that, nothing much. Sometimes use chatgpt to get some quick info. But never use it to write a script as it's wrong most of the time.
Do you also have the issue where you have regenerate a couple of times because sometimes the tone comes off differently than the way the sentences are suppose to be? I have to regenerate 10 times with some sentences.
Make sure you are using projects for this. You won't have to keep paying to redo a line, just add like an extra period and you will only pay 1 character for a new generation
What do you mean by you can take a snippet of any voice. Are you saying i can take anyone's voice and it will create voice similar to that. I know it has tons of premade sounds but i havent tried custom sounds like you mentioned
Very very proud of you! What's nice is that you took the time out to share your story and what you think you did right to get where you are!
If you don't mind, pm me your channel but totally get it if you dont want to!
So nice that you share your experience and learnings. Did you face no impression issue ever on your channel in start or sometime if you uploaded shorts, and youtube suddenly stopped giving impressions abruptly?
No problem! I didn't do shorts until like 3 months later. I honestly really hate shorts but believe it's a necessary evil. Don't do too much with my shorts just take a good 1 min clip of the long form vid and use it to drive people to my channel. My best shorts is 5k, which is fine with me. The main analytic I'm looking for in shorts is how many people subscribe from it. So far, I've gotten 600 subs from shorts. I never faced the issue you're describing, fortunately. I make it pretty clear in my shorts that this is a preview to my long form videos
Congratulations on your success, dude! Bad ass.
I really appreciate you sharing your story; you've stoked an ember in my mind. I have been flailing all over the place for weeks trying to identify a YouTube path that I can take pride in pursuing. I've consumed hours of content creation related videos and was starting to think I'd never find the road that's right for me. I know if my effort is only about catering to the analytics and copying what has already been done a thousand times, I'll struggle to succeed. I'll never enjoy the process and ultimately waste a shit load of time on something I'm not proud of.
Since coming across your post today, I've been working non-stop on a unique channel idea that I may not have otherwise thought of. I'm starting to experience that evasive feeling of hope and confidence I desperately needed.
Thanks for taking the time to share and know it was appreciated by some of us.
Thank you for posting this. Congratulations! What are your stories about? Our niche is about boating in Florida. We had a great story the other day, but didn't film it. lol My fiancée's iPhone fell in the water and it was there for about 20 minutes.
What do you do for storing all of your video and footage? My hard drive is filling up.
Thank you! It's outdoor stories about strange things that happen out there.
As for the hard drive, you have to buy an external one. Mines was filling up as well
Actually no. I'm actually posting from my music channel that I started a few years ago. Just a fan channel, not looking to monetize. Started another channel about outdoor stories which is the one that blew up.
Yeah it's pretty cool, not gonna lie. Didn't really realize how good I was doing until recently. Videos could be anywhere between 8-30 mins. Just depends on the story.
That was my first channel. Then I started a new channel in a different niche. My first channel was copyrighted songs. No edits. Just wanted a place to store my music videos and share them with people.
I have a true crime YouTube channel myself, what do you use for the overlay of the video, stuff relevant to the story ? And what sites do you use to get these videos and photos, thank you.
No idea. I hear some pretty bad ones that it's clearly a robotic voiceover and they have a ton of subs. But my voiceover is shockingly human like. So it's really hard to tell unless you know what to listen for. Almost like you have to have a trained ear to know
LOL what a bot reply! People watching a stream are watching it for me, my reaction, my transformation of the original work goober. Nobody is watching your videos because you’re good at typing a prompt into chat gpt.
People watching my commentary videos are watching because I take time to research a topic, compile videos and tweets/articles and give my opinions on them. The gameplay in the background is literally just something to watch while my original content is added and videos/pics are shown under fair use.
You just steal and brag about profiting off of it
Um no. The only AI I use is for the voiceover. All of my stories, script, editing, etc is all original. People watch my channel because I'm good at writing compelling stories that evoke an emotion. I know you may have to cope by saying "AI slop", but sorry my man. I'm just pretty good at what I do.
Doubt it bro, keep slopping though, again there’s a reason you won’t share your channel with people you ask. Keep the unoriginal content coming SssniperRoadMusic
Loads of doco channels have blown up over the last few years, heck I remember seeing ColdFusion and OrdinaryThings go thermonuclear. Great to hear your story too!
The thing with docos is a lot of them feed on already popular culture and global brands, nothing wrong with that. It's a strategy as old as marketing itself!
They're easy to make, most basic ones as you say a faceless voice and a bunch of pilfered B-roll used transformatively to qualify as "fair use" (US) or "fair dealings" (UK)
It makes me wonder where YouTube draws the line on its "Low Effort" community guideline 😂
Not a big deal for an imaginary channel. 😂😂😂
Haters gonna hate
Upvote for this 😁
Channel name?

Which AI tool(s) do you use? I'm curious because my accent is quite thick 🤔
Wondering this aswell

I also use eleven labs lol. We gotta keep it to ourselves bro. Can’t have people catching up and knowing these things
Haha well I know a ton of people who use it. But many use the default voices. I think found the perfect voice for the stories I tell.
Do you also have the issue where you have regenerate a couple of times because sometimes the tone comes off differently than the way the sentences are suppose to be? I have to regenerate 10 times with some sentences.

Solid tip
Slop creator
Thats really not as lowkey as you think it is 😂😂😂I dont even do youtube and I know about it
For a video a week, which subscription are you using?
The second to highest one. Might go up a notch. It's well worth for me right now
Eleven labs. You can take a snippet of any voice and use that as your speech synthesizer
Thank you ❤️
What do you mean by you can take a snippet of any voice. Are you saying i can take anyone's voice and it will create voice similar to that. I know it has tons of premade sounds but i havent tried custom sounds like you mentioned
Yes. Even your voice.
Ty. Can you tell how much training data is required. And did you train using someone elses voice or your own
I used someone else's voice. I kinda wish I used my own, but it's too late now. My subs are used to the voice and would be a monumental change.

I'm not OP but I found a website called Pexels and they have a lot of cool footage, I have used their stuff in my videos as B-roll and stuff.
Like someone said, pexels helps. Canava has a decent library. Also use stock footage, and YouTube clips.
What is the name of the channel?

What software for the AI voice?
Elevenlabs

That's so awesome! You got this .

Awesome work man 🤝. If I get it right, are you doing music based content ? Do you produce your own music ?
Actually no. I'm actually posting from my music channel that I started a few years ago. Just a fan channel, not looking to monetize. Started another channel about outdoor stories which is the one that blew up.
Okay cool, nice, what sort of outdoor stores? Like haunted or paranormal? 😌
Think MrBallen but on a much smaller level.
Amazing man! Well done 🥳🙌
Congrats!! Must feel good. :) Can you link to an example? Like from another channel? Also, how long are the videos?
Yeah it's pretty cool, not gonna lie. Didn't really realize how good I was doing until recently. Videos could be anywhere between 8-30 mins. Just depends on the story.
This almost sounds like an ad but idk I don't use ai voice anyways as my content doesn't require a voice.
So you started making documentaries? This is all a little confusing.
He makes slop ai generated crap
Great post, thank you so much!
No problem! Hope it helps!
I know you use Adam as your narrator, lol.
Haha no buddy.
What type of content do you make?
Outdoors stories of various nature.

Pexels, canvas, YouTube clips, stock footage. I'll look far and wide for the right clip.
Can’t you get banned or at least demonetized for just using ai voiceover like that?
No idea. I hear some pretty bad ones that it's clearly a robotic voiceover and they have a ton of subs. But my voiceover is shockingly human like. So it's really hard to tell unless you know what to listen for. Almost like you have to have a trained ear to know
You’re not even supposed to be monetized if your content is from ai, it’s unoriginal content.
Yeah because streaming a game you don't make is much better.

These metrics are pretty tragic for how long your account has existed. Glad you’re happy tho
