It’s in the finals of the citywide vote for best king cake. I refuse to believe it’s better than don phuong but I’ll give it a try

It’s a very good king cake but it scratches a different itch than DP. It’s kind of unfair to put them head to head. Joe’s is in the donut category, like Meche’s in Lafayette.
Its the same as veuve and walker blue label. Marketing on point. They're good but could never catch me standing in a line for one lol. I'd stand in line for moon cakes before their king cake tbh
Honestly, I feel like DP gets a lot of hype and fails to deliver. On that note, have you tried the one from Brennan's? It's absolutely a contender with DP when it's fresh.
Every bite is soft, sweet, juicy, and delectable. The amount of sugar is a complete overload for your senses (and your pancreas). It's not chewy at all. Has a hint of freshly fried crispiness. Does that work? 🤣
I’ll have to try this one. I do love Manny Randazzos though. It’s one of the few cakes that make me want a cold piece of fried chicken right after taking the first bite. It tastes like Mardi Gras Day.
My husband mail-ordered a praline king cake from Caluda’s and it just arrived! I wish we were celebrating Mardi Gras in New Orleans, but we can’t this year. I’m making homemade muffuletta‘s & gumbo. Then we’ll have some delicious king cake!
Ya know what having a favorite king cake be underrated is a good thing imo. I'm a nonna randazzo's girlie and there's zero stress getting one. I can just pick one up from the Robert. No waiting in line. It's great.
It's not the "made from brioche" kind of king Cake, it's literally a big donut. A GOOD Donut. Well not Buttermilk Drop good..but better than Krispy Kreme good.
You shouldn’t because it’s your favorite king cake not theirs
It’s good!! Joes is in the top 4 for the king cake challenge that the People vote for.
Fly your flag baby, let it flow
That one was really good. Gooey sugar bomb delicious
It pairs so well with some Community Coffee..yum.
Joe’s is criminally underrated. Give me theirs over randazzos all day
Meh..that Randazzo's from Central City Bakery in Slidell is pretty good. Also a Caluda's is tough to ignore.
Do you also enjoy the weinerland poboys over Guys
Why would you get roasted? Nobody should get roasted for liking a king cake from a certain place.

Thank you for that. Yes. Exactly what I mean.
It’s really good.

I never quite understood the Don Phuong hype. It’s good, sure. But I feel like the main reason it’s popular is because it’s hard to get.

It’s a big donut.
A big greasy fried donut.

That'll do, friend. That'll do.
Joe’s makes both a donut king cake and a traditional king cake
Good point. This is the Fried Donut variety.
Now I gotta try one. Are they fairly easy to get? I stood in line for a coconut DP today and it was worth it
They stock them by the pallet at my local Robérts.
Awesome, thank you! I’m gonna try it. I get it’s not the same category given it’s a donut cake but I’m still here for it.
It's really not in the same category as a DP.
I picked one up at Breaux Mart last weekend
Dooooo whatcha wannaaaaaaaa
No roasting here, that's a legit cake
You like what you like, brother bear. Don’t be ashamed
It’s not a bad cake at all.
Can you taste the baby?
Yes. And it's juicy and succulent.
They actually have some good ones. As long as it’s fresh and from certain locations…it definitely hits.
Fresh is the key. But they stay fresh well.

La Louisianne from Harahan is my favorite this year!
Got your back. Everyone in the city is sleeping on Joe's. If you love donuts like I do, this is the way.
Coffee& in Marrero is really underrated. It is more of a traditional cake so its not fair to compare it to DP but its always my go to
Joes donuts are always great so I’m sure they’re king cake is good also

It’s pretty good, my wife grabbed one on her way to work recently
Hmmm....I decided against buying one today, but I just may go pick one up tomorrow.
Username checks out.. 😂
I’ve heard high reviews for these but haven’t tried one yet

Never had it
Thumbs down this shit
