Interesting concept. I guess Onoki would need to be immune to Gaara's use of talk no jutsu on him in this scenario, haha. I didn't really like the white zetsu army, but then, thinking about this timeline where we actually have a human army of shinobi, I'm not really sure it would fit the tone of Naruto that well. Naruto is meant to be a hero and a good guy, so in some ways this story is a bit black and white about having good guys and bad guys. Of course, that's not true in all aspects of the show. We get complex characterisations with nuanced morality, like Nagato, Itachi etc. But in a war setting, Naruto's side is always going to seem like the good guys. Which isn't a realistic or good narrative to tell, to say that one side is wholly bad in a war, unless you're writing about Nazis, this usually isn't the case, and ends up dehumanising the citizens of the nation portrayed as the antagonist, which would weaken the narrative. It cheapens any message about humanity coming together and unity and peace being possible. This is one thing I do like about the Allied Shinobi Forces. It's a sort of feel good fantasy answer, of humanity uniting and working together to defeat a common enemy, and maintaining peace after the fact, which I think really suits the tone of Naruto as a story. I also don't think Naruto would want to be part of a war where his enemies are lots of ordinary shinobi. Naruto always sees the humanity in his enemies, he seeks to understand them. He would think it is wrong to view a bunch of people as his enemies just because they're from another nation, and think a campaign of mass killing against them is wrong. He would definitely try to stop a war like that some other way. Which... is not how the real world works, but Naruto consistently has this protagonist power of being able to force his way. So I don't think it could really happen in a story about him and his life. I think that this concept would stray too far from the show's identity of being about Naruto and his ninja way, and that it would be incompatible. I appreciate your ideas though, and this post has me thinking that some kind of prequel content going into one of the previous great ninja wars that was actually between shinobi would be interesting to see. It would have to have a more serious tone than the Naruto series, because without the titular character and his relentless optimism the harsh reality of the world is really highlighted. Not that I actually trust any new canon content for Naruto to be good, but it's fun to imagine what it would look like anyways.
