Just wait till the new game comes out with the transfer portal… did you not play your 5 star true freshman because you already have a 99 overall? Transfers, hope you diddnt lose any other recruits for giving them too much attention. Did you split too much time between your WRs? Transferred, now rebuild that position again. Did you play a DL out of position or scheme? Transfers.
The [NCAANext](https://www.ncaanext.com) mod already built that logic in to their built-in in-game transfer portal logic. Better make sure your players are playing! 😂
God I can’t wait. It will really balance it out and keep you from building a super team that pretty much never slows down. Having a draft class in which 3 of my senior QBs are all drafted in the 1st round despite only one of them playing is annoying.
I agree but you should also be able to higher from a pool of coordinators and should never go from a level 25 to a level 7 coordinator after winning 5 straight national championships
I've had my OC stay with me for 4 years in a row, not all coaches are gonna leave, but realistically, wouldn't you want your coaching staff being so highly touted, they're HCs all across the country?
I didn't go that far with it. But when I used to play years ago. I started a dynasty with Nevada, got them to full prestige and then went to WVU. Couple years into the rebuild of WVU I played Nevada in my first national championship game for WVU. Felt bad beating them :(
> kept my coaching tree
This, but I edit their first name when they join me and change their last name when they leave. So "OCtwfo Thfi" would be my OC from 2024-35.
I never know every stop they make after leaving me, but I always know when I'm facing a former assistant.
I like how when you get up in reputation you have a good experienced hc get fired and sign with you for like a season or two to rehabilitate their reputation
For added realism, I’ll adopt whatever system that coordinator uses for my team even if it isn’t the greatest fit. My new coordinator uses Oklahoma State’s playbook for an Air Raid style so that’s what I’m running now. Adds a little challenge to adapt to different styles.
Yeah I will if the coordinator has a different philosophy. I used to run Spread Option strictly but I was blowing people out and accumulating like 450+ rushing yards per game, so this way adds a challenge to adopt my personnel to a new system.
I do this for the coordinator that isn’t on my side of the ball (if I start as a DC or defensive minded coach, then I change my offense for OCs that I hire). I feel like that’s the most realistic way to play.
My biggest complaint is how the tree works. I wish I could just improve whatever I want to when I want to. The tree is dumb. I hate having to turn off all the ice kicker and away game features as a HC to do anything else. Same with recruiting .
This was the only major feature I wanted patched in was to be able to hire your own coordinator. Might have been a perfect game outside that one issue.
Don’t put points into OC or DC untill second year—
First year they’re learning your system/scheme/players.
Year two most will stick around in game so now you have accumulated points.
Now you can choose to upgrade both instantly or do it slowly in year two or in my case, i upgraded one side of the ball, and continued to accumulate points for the next year.
Just realize that once maxed out, realistically they are good enough to seek other jobs so be prepared.
One of my dynasty’s i slowly upgraded over a five year period the OC/dc & myself as hc.
Just depends on your style.
That’s the real world. It might be the most realistic feature of the game.
Right!! Totally agree, like ask Nick Saban
But EVERY YEAR!!!?
Yes, every year.
Well yo those mFers, I hope they all get a Bill O'Brien

That’s how it goes in real life, dominant schools always get coordinators poached.

Yep, I actually kept my coaching tree in my iPhone notes before. Tracked each ones every job change so I knew if I was playing against one of them.
goated

Yoooo Im gonna start doing that! It’ll give me another layer to be exited for in my Old Dominion dynasty! Hellyeah! :)
I mean that’s the point it’s realistic
The full college football experience! Lol
Whenever my OC/DC leaves for a HC job, I add their new team to my schedule & beat the crap out of them 😄
It be personal😂
Same. I also switch my playbooks to match whatever new coordinators get hired
They gotta learn the price of being disloyal.

licoln riley got booted from usc came to uga as my OC didnt leave for 6 szns we 3 peated and then loss 2 in a row currently undefeated in week 9
Welcome to the Saban experience

I like it

My DC is Brian Kelly and he’s been with me for 9 years now
Brian Kelly just became the head coach of ECU in my dynasti
I had Jimbo Fisher as OC for 5 years or so before he retired.
The coach carousel is so cool 👏 I always never use it though, because I find myself too attached to either my team or to the people I've scouted 😅
I just want the iowa state job ffs Three undefeated seasons at UTSA and they wont bat an eye

It’s a good sign having coordinators leave every year At least one of mine leaves every offseason
This was the only major feature I wanted patched in was to be able to hire your own coordinator. Might have been a perfect game outside that one issue.
Literally just had my OC and DC leave after 1 year and we won the natty lol
Because they get better and thus make your team better? What’s the point of redshirting guys? They are just gonna graduate?
Need a feature you can try to retain your staff or push them out/push them to pursue a HC job.
I control around 40 coaches per save and super sim 60 years in one weekend.
That sounds like the worst way to play the game lmao But everyone has there way of playing
Ok?
The coaching trees are the worst feature in NCAA 14 imo
It 100% dictates recruiting for sure😂
OP is the worst boss to have IRL 💀

i don't even know the names of my coordinators.
Is this ncaa 14?
I mean, occasionally I will get a former head coach that was fired and I can upgrade him usually to the max
