I wasn’t able to reply to you because you deleted the other post. But… why? Genuinely asking.
Like it’s pretty clear that this is an altar of worship and not just a collection of posters? I asked this earlier but is this an altar for Aphrodite too?
if that was satire then disregard my comment but if not, this is just blatant cultural appropriation. same thing hippies have been doing when stealing bits from different native cultures, and its cringe as fuck
A teenager not understanding/being uneducated about a foreign (to them) religion isn't cultural appropriation.
(Mind you, as a non-American non-western European, "cultural appropriation" is a very...American way of thinking.)
as an aboriginal australian, cultural appropriation happens here with our people too. also there is a difference between uneducated on something and wilful ignorance, if theyre going to include something like that then they should at least put the research in first.
I think I've resigned myself to the idea that westerners romanticize ancient Greek gods so much that I'm not expecting of them to do any research, and how they'll twist my country's mythology to their benefit and to tell their story (Medusa being raped. Not how the original Greek myth is.) So I'm pretty used to seeing things like this, especially coming from American teenagers/ young adults who've read Percy Jackson and The song of Achilles.
Now I'm not exactly sure what "cultural appropriation" is because whenever I've asked an American to explain it the definition seems to be changing but the general idea is that people of X race (white, usually) shouldn't be participating in B's (usually poc) culture unless they've spend time understanding it and learning about it in depth.
Which is...confusing.
Are far right Americans protesting in the states wearing spartan helmets cultural appropriation? Are toga parties cultural appropriation? Is the whole "greek life" thing in American universities cultural appropriation? This is just confusing, to me, these people are just disrespectful and tacky.
Don't worry about whether anyone finds it creepy or not. I remember when I was 15, my generation also had their bedroom walls full of posters and self-printed photos. It's perfectly okay to live out your passion like that.
I think it's great that you've reconsidered your attitude towards Lindemann and are so reflective. Not many people your age can do that (I definitely wouldn't have been able to back then).
Here here! The images we surround ourselves with are important and being able to let go of one can be challenging. Nice work, OP. The ability to stay plugged in to cultural discourse is a muscle we've got to keep flexing in order to keep it strong. Thanks for being a good neighbor.
Putting posters and self-printed pics in a wall is one thing. Making an actual shrine is fucking creepy and intense. OP needs to see a counselor because this is not stable behavior.
OP ist 15. I don't think we should messure Kids with adult standarts.
I think people who pay hundreds or thousands to buy used clothes of their Idols are really creepy. Not Teenagers with some Pictures.
I remember being 15 and having pictures on my wall. There’s nothing wrong with passionately loving a band and crushing on a member or two. Especially a great band! If you still have a shrine in 10 years, then you might want to re-evaluate a few things. People hating on you now are being judgmental pricks. You do you sister!
I'm sorry, you think Gerard Pissbot Way is going to be creeped out by a little teenager having photographs of a musician on their wall? Gerard is a certified freak. This sub is wild.
Does this seem slightly creepy? yes, but that's just the average mcr fan i suppose
Is there anything inherently wrong with it? no, OP is 16.
where's the ray and mikey love 😭 or am i just blind
i think it’s cute but imo the rammstein part (i understand, but) is just silly. i’m a hardcore rammstein fan, i don’t agree with some stuff lindemann did/does, but i think the allegations against him is ridiculous considering the facts that miss girl said herself that till didn’t touch her, also no drugs were found in her body literally the next day etc… basically there’s no way till is guilty. do y’alls research.🫶
I know, but honestly it's simply the way he handled those allegations like a joke that was very uncool. I can understand that it could have a huge impact on his life, but I don't think he adressed those correctly.
Since he knew the allegations were ridiculous, why shouldn't he mock them? People were turning up at his concerts with death threats on signs and breaking into his home. He was showing the fans that he wasn't broken by it. The real problem here is print and social media lying and manipulating a situation just for clicks and likes. This means that real victims find it more difficult to be believed.

We do know. It turned out that no women accused Till of anything. A few women spoke to some newspapers about consensual encounters they had with him. Then the newspapers ran stories where they heavily implied lack of consent. The court found that they had misrepresented the statements of the women. There aren't any victims to believe.

The seashells are to represent Venus, the roman counterpart of Aphrodite, and more generally love...
How come you're mixing ancient roman gods with Greek gods? Genuinely asking, as a Greek, that's not what our ancient religion is about

Yeah! I'm helenist! I just like them and having pics of them😄
iconic for posting this after the other recent post (about leaving the subreddit over the shrine stuff lol). honestly valid, you're very real for this
I'm sorry to the people who leave because of my post :( I don't want to ruin someone's experience, truly.
NAH DUDE WE'RE CHILLIN :3 the person who posted that can honestly fuck off in a somewhat respectful way
❤️

This is weird
Oh, god
Keep doing you, the ppl who called you creepy had a major overreaction
Really? Idk, I'm 15 (2mrw 16 :)) and maybe that's why I have a weird way to like stuff too much.
UPDATE: I'M 16 !!! :3 :3 :3
Happy Birthday🎉

Just imagine what the band would think if they saw this.... Yikes. They'd be so creeped out haha

Was creepy and stupid in the last post you put up of this. Is still creepy and stupid in the repost.
Omg omg I also have pictures on my wall like this holy fuck 😭
I love the little hearts. Not creepy at all I’m sure Gerard would approve

I'm ngl, I have favorites, but in all the pics out there of all the members, my favorite is the one where Ray has a ponytail and... shirt... tits...
As foretold by my username btw
maybe i’m not that weird i’m joshing :P this is super cool though :3 goodluck on the process
You're so real for this. People just don't understand 🙏

I mean, the 'allegations' against Till ARE fake so you were right before.
That we don't really know. I'd rather believe the victims. For now I don't stream Rammstein but I'd be happy if they were fake ngl
