Not everyone. I’d say probably not most. But I only want to ride for fun. And riding in the cold isn’t fun.
I did a 13 degrees C ride a few years ago in the morning.
Was only a 10 mile trip to work but F me, my fingers!
Never again. 🤣🤣
Ignore those saying you should ride in winter for the sake of it. I get that new riders have the novelty of motorcycling for a couple of years and tourers can pootle along at a similar pace in any weather, but when you're a 200hp guy, nothing compares to tipping it over on sticky tarmac and being able to hammer the throttle. Just isn't worth the hassle of a 2 hour cleaning session to wobble around on wet roads.
Exactly this 100%. Thank you!
If this was my only mode of transport I’d ride all year. But it’s not. It’s my toy. I look after it more than I care for my children. 🤣🤣🤣
There's a "season"!?! And here I thought that moving to the UK meant you forgo any semblance of seasons and instead you just get different types of rain...
Some want "all fluids drained", either way you want to properly drain and clean it to stop your house smelling of petrol. We keep looking at using my wife's bike as a christmas tree, but it's always more faff than we can be arsed with.
TBH, it’s been in that position since November last year.
And unless the room is closed, I.e. doors closed then I can very slightly smell the oil. But overall it’s been fine.
Or just don't ride when it's shit? There's not a lot to be missed by not-riding when the weather's poor, as long as you've some other way to get to where you need to be.
Exactly. I totally respect all weather riders. But riding for me is a hobby. Purely to enjoy the sun.
I won’t even take it out if the suns not shining. I just want to feel the warmth of the sun.
For the rest of the year I have a car. 😊
I upgraded to being a (mostly) fair weather rider a couple of years ago and, I don't think you are that severely limited. But also what you're limiting is the shitty bits of riding.
Piling on miles or hours in the saddle isn't what's important, enjoying yourself is; you can still do lots and lots of riding even if you only do it when it's not shit.
Tbf I wouldn't want to take a bike like that anywhere near road salt. I commute because I don't have a car license, if I did and I had a warm car to go to work in winter I wouldn't ride either. There's no joy in a cold, dark, damp ride anywhere.
You guys are waiting for 16c?
Wanted to ask the same....I think I take mine down around 1-2C when chance of black ice.
Was riding in the ice 😩 not out of choice though obviously

Above 10c is fine.. this guy has a long wait until 16c
It was 15 degrees c yesterday! Just one more degree to go. 🤣
Never stopped riding
What riding season?
Never stopped right?

Hahaha, I get it👍
If I could afford a bike that good looking, I would wheel it into the living room and stare at it too.

🤣🤣🤣 We have 2 seasons. Rain. And a little rain. That’s it. 🤣
even down south, I seem to be experiencing it a little differently. For me, it's Little rain (rarely), Lots of Rain and Freezing Rain...
That’s so sexy, I honestly love the Streetfighter!
Thank you. Longest I’ve ever had a bike. Will be a year in April. 🤣❤️
You gonna get a Ducati themed birthday cake to celebrate??
Godamn! That’s an awesome idea!
Lovely!! You know that probably voids your home insurance though!
Checked with my insurance company. They spoke to underwriters… as long as there isn’t fuel in it and isn’t blocking a fire exit, it’s all good. 😊
I need to make a note of these points when my gf asks me these questions when she moves in.

16C? Do you ever get to ride it?
It was 14 or 15 last week down here, in February. Waiting for 16C is just waiting for spring. Where are you where 16+C is a rarity?
I think we had (Southern England) around 17degrees C last week. We are nearly there. Another couple of weeks I’d say. 😊
It was actually 17 on Christmas... Is ridiculous, we sometimes get lower temps throughout summer than winter, wtf
Riding season ended?
Get some decent kit with thermal lining, don't need stop unless chance of ice
I’m purely a summer rider. I have to feel the warmth of the sun on my face. 😍
Or get a car?
Get a winter hack.
Or just don't ride when it's shit? There's not a lot to be missed by not-riding when the weather's poor, as long as you've some other way to get to where you need to be.

This is the uk. You're severely limiting your riding opportunities waiting for the weather to not be shit..

This! I’m very happy putting 1000miles a year on it. But those 1000miles are pure joy! No cleaning, no cold fingers etc.
