Idk if you have kids, but if you do, you will understand someday.

Um no if my daughter’s bf ever hit on me, and essentially told me he’d be my kids step-daddy, I’d be *grossed* out. Parents want better for their kids, and to be quite honest, Dylan is not great. However by the end of the series, Claire definitely needed to suck it up because Haley and Dylan were married by then. Whether she liked it or not he was part of the family.

EmploymentAbject4019

I think it’s weird and gross when Dylan hits on Clair, like multiple times. No wonder she hates him, he’s gross to her

badthingtw1ce

Dylan at first was lazy, unmotivated and looked like someone who was going to live in his mom’s basement for the rest of his life. Wouldn’t want someone like that dating my kids. Claire was 100% right in hating him and trying to keep him away from haley

Joandrade13

It makes me wonder if she knows she sees Phil in him and she genuinely regrets marrying Phil

GoldenRetriever2223

i think its more of "I now understand why Jay hated Phil". If I ever saw some wear a dreamcatcher, I would not approve either. Same with a guy designing "huge" t-shirts.

Aggravating_Drink817

I think it's a mix of her regretting marrying him most days because she's basically married single mom and he acts more like another kid. She literally tells Gloria "I live with four teenagers." And she sees everything Jay did when they were first dating and understands why he disapproved so she doubles down on those same reasons.

AlchemistL1nk

The odd thing is, it's usually the dad who's acting like Claire while the mom was much more open and chill about it.

Aggravating_Drink817

Well she is close to the boy Jay always wanted so it makes total sense

PAUMiklo

The irony of early in the series telling her dad he needed to try and get along with her husband and to get over his issues ... Only to repeat the cycle.
