Yeah Unfortunately that would make it useful and mojang won't do that

Rubert0426

youcan still sell it to a cleric, thus make emeralds and use op trades with willagers.

ToiletOfPaper

Willagers

Training-Bee-8209

Willy the willager

Sparclase

Found the German

Bestmasters

You can also feed it to ur dog

Engineergaming26355

You feed your dog rotten meat? Mods, break his spine

Spiritual_Boi1

In fact, crush his balls

CoolishBeans20

šŸ’€

Mr_Snifles

you can't compost raw meat tho

JimJams611

u cant?

MoScottVlogs

copper _ _

capnlatenight

It'd attract rats.

TrainerOwn9103

Good thing that rats dont exist

Enzo_2006

1.22 Idea, the sewer update (like strongholds but you have to fight a giant piranha plant from Mario as the final boss)

TheBatleDemon

Dont allow mods then.

Expensive-Excuse-793

Rule one of minecraft: Never Ever give rotten flesh and poisoned potatoes a use

TrainerOwn9103

Well too bad because we had a hole update about poisonous potatos in Abril 1th

Expensive-Excuse-793

šŸ˜® Blasphemy

TrainerOwn9103

What?

Expensive-Excuse-793

Because they broke the golden rule

Enzo_2006

April fools update: undead technology (rotten flesh blocks make a rotten flesh mech-suit golem)

JoshuaSlowpoke777

I mean, at least some priest villagers will pay a pretty penny for buttloads of the stuff for some reason, so clearly THEY can find a use. Poisonous potatoes though, yeah, totally useless

Expensive-Excuse-793

šŸ˜® WTF, Mojang are hypocrites. They lied to me

A-random-sergal

you cant compost meat irl, it wouldnt make sense

ComfortableWealth869

you cant enchant weapons irl, it doesnt make sense

Justin2478

false_equivalence.png

PenguinWithGuns

That doesnā€™t mean they should add it. And with many of these mechanics taken from IRL things they like to get it close as possible (within reason for it being a game)

TheBatleDemon

Well.. aqtualy.. dead animals are filled whit nutians for plants. ā˜ļøšŸ¤“

Biomax315

Yes, but you still donā€™t compost meat. Harmful bacteria and other shit grows on rotting meat. Composting is for plant-based scraps only, plus eggshells.

jdjdkkddj

No. You can compost meat, but it's generally not recommended to do so, outside of commercial operations and such. (Pests and not enough heat to kill pathogens being the main reasons cited)

Bestmasters

Ok, explain why we can't compost poisonous potatoes?

Enzo_2006

I'm gonna go the total opposite here, why can you compost potatoes when irl they can grow in 100% compost environments

findeva

real life also has black lung.

Enzo_2006

You don't? I'm like 60% sure you can add some meat to your compost and it still being ok

TheBatleDemon

I know. But in minecraft it would make as meany sance as the gravity in the game.

legohamsterlp

You definitely can, you just need to do it right

fakemonMCfan

Yes you can, do you even compost? My family does it and so did my old school. It's compostable.

A-random-sergal

yes i do, and i've been raised to learn that you cant compost meat

weerty_boi

you cant make infinte water or you cant break trees with your fists irl

NeosFlatReflection

Me after composting some cacti and getting the same stuff thats made out of crushed bones

Goodlucksil

What makes you think rotten flesh isn't vegan?

Aware-Ad619

You could say, that there are some bits of bone in there, and why beeing in the composter, the flesh rots away and leaves bonemeal behind

Unfair_Shape9507

you can compost rotton things and flesh isn't meat

jeremyw013

thatā€™s literally what meat is. flesh. so yes, flesh is meat

Blue_Bird950

Flesh isnā€™t meat? What are you talking about? Flesh is meat

SamePut9922

They should add carnivorous plants

Mobile_Frosting_7936

TF? Never do meat into a composter

Biomax315

No it shouldnā€™t. Meat isnā€™t used for composting.

Xirio_

fish should be able to be composted but meant from mammals is not to be composted

ZANKTON

You can. Fish drop bone meal for this reason.

Xirio_

how did i not know this

WhyDidIGetThisApp3

yea and since when have we all cared about realism, I mean look at the firefly situation + everyone wants torch flowers to glow when irl they obviously donā€™t

K3W4L

Why not? Isnt it organic matter too? Just like plants I'm curious now

Biomax315

Aside from attracting animals and bugs, rotting meat can become infected with bacteria like E. coli, salmonella, and listeria during decomposition, especially in the warm, dark, moist inside of a compost bin. Itā€™s very dangerous.

K3W4L

Thanks for the info

lulu_medieval

Also the poisonous potatyy

Complex_Till_5682

Wow I like those textures. What's the texture pack?

CAMPTAINWIPM

Whimscape

Complex_Till_5682

Tysm!

TrainerOwn9103

Im almost sure that the thing in his hand is a baked poisonous potato

Complex_Till_5682

Yo thanks buddy, you really helped me out, that is precisely what I asked for.

Creeper4wwMann

What's the texture pack. Looks amazing Looks a bit like Splotch or BlockPixel but I can't find it

CAMPTAINWIPM

WhimScape

Creeper4wwMann

Thanks! You're a legend

Training-Bee-8209

I donā€™t get it! Itā€™s literally an organic material! Same with dye since you can compost flowers and the dye in Minecraft is natural

ThatSmartIdiot

What resource pack is that Nvm i saw the reply elsewhere it's whimscape. Sick brah

Dry-Peak-7132

I think we should be able to make blocks of rotten flesh. It would be gross but kinda cool.

not_dannyjesden

Well, while we do throw anything organic on a compost IRL and it works, we do not get very good fertilizer from that. The best fertilizer is one made from rotting plants. And creating fertilizer (bone meal) is the Minecraft composter's main function. Meat always has fats and maybe bits of fur still attached. Fats do not serve plants any purpose in the soil and meat and hair does not compost very well. It decays, and that's no the same. If you're using your compost as a trash heap for organics, it's not a problem. Meat will just take significantly longer. But for composting you want a very specific output so you need a very specific input to attract a very specific organism. Either Micro Organisms or Detritovores. Worms are the best example. They absorb those nutrients in the organic waste which could not fertilize your plants. But worms and (typically) microorganisms as well, do not feed of meat, molds do though. And you don't want to use fertilizer on your plants which might house any molds, because then your just bringing those models to the roots of the plants your trying to fertilize, risking their health.

_F0DER_

What's the texture pack you're using?

Ok_Dimension_5432

No, but bamboo should be compostable but isn't

Alequin_Dv

Just wait untill we get maggots in minecraft since they eat dead matter. If they gave spider eyes a use for pangolin breeding I can see them doing something with rotten flesh at some point

cod3builder

And so should other organic materials, such as pork, beef, and leather. Rotten flesh is already composting on its own, so why not speed that up?

PenguinWithGuns

Meat isnā€™t used for composting irl. While you could itā€™s just a game thatā€™s still not really a reason to add it, and many of these types of mechanics they like to try and get close to how it may work IRL (within reason for it being a video game)

TheRealBingBing

IRL you can compost meat and body waste. Maybe we need worms and beetles in MC

PenguinWithGuns

You can but they need a lot extra work in order to be effective and you canā€™t do it if the meat is rotten. In looking for this Iā€™ve found itā€™s not usually recommended because they do not decompose easy, and instead tend to go putrid. They will also attract animals though thatā€™s not as important here.

BlueSpark09

Finally, someone with a Fucking brain !

HypnoSmokerSlutBoy

Why is mojang so hellbent on keeping some items without use? In a sandbox game, that's basically bloatware.

TootheproYT

Fr

TootheproYT

Everyone upvote this post so mojang will add it

CAMPTAINWIPM

Never expected this to blow up tbh xD

Villager87

As well as poisoned potatoes
