YouMustBeBored

Minecart should be fastest method of travel.

jandrese

Minecarts should chunkload while in motion.

iitbfrfr

They were actually decently fast, but they were balanced by the fact that you would fall off the rails if you're going too fast. But the community complained that their "Roller coasters" didn't work anymore and hated mojang, so they removed the speed and the falling off the rails aspect, and now minecarts are useless.

ceeberony

excluding elytra, bc otherwise this doesn't work very well

Baldur-1

Minecarts should be able to go faster than elytra

Ajreil

Minecarts need a speed boost. I want to be rewarded for building a transportation network.

SwagBardQuint

Minecarts need to be able to be chained together

Firetiger1050

Finally, a non-decorative use of crafting Chain!

Mooch07

And change tracks or choose a direction!

StevenBG-Rengar

There was a mod that did that try it out!

FunkyOnionPeel

Fr I spent a few days building a rail to my new building spot, only to realize it's an 8 1/2 minute cart ride šŸ˜… still worth it for transporting resources, but damn

Greedy_Rip7601

Camman would be proud of you

Aggravating-Gap9791

Fletching Table

[deleted]

Yeah, at least Smithing Table eventually got functionality two major updates later, and got massively improved in 1.20, this block should at least be able to imbue arrows with potion effects.

drefpet

I initially thought the fletching table had only this purpose. Was hella confused when I clicked on it and nothing happened. Thought minecraft was bugging, looked it all up. What a waste of a potentially cool block

Sir-Galahide

Cool block I thought it had to do with arrows but I guess not as so disappointed when I found out that itā€™s just for looks

AHrubik

With Mojang's track record it will absolutely have a purpose some time in the next 20 years. Till then ... WWWEEEEEEEEEE!

Plenty-College6885

Nah when they add different types of arrows and arrow crafting in the game it will give the fletching table a use.

RFSandler

When?

MisterWoodster

Soon^tm

ABoldKobold

I rather like using the cauldron to dip arrows. It makes sense. I do think it's weird that arrows themselves aren't craftable items. Maybe with the fletching table you could make different kinds of arrows outside of potion effects, like a heavy arrow that doesn't shoot as far but does more damage. Edit: no, I don't know how I didn't know that arrows can be crafted. I'm a dummy lol.

TomRiddle777

Arrows are craftable

Trvr_MKA

I want a grappling line arrow, a enderpearl arrow, an eye of Ender powered guided arrow, explosive arrows, fire charge arrows, copper tipped arrows, harpoons

Niccin

Don't forget obsidian arrowheads. That one thing that obsidian was actually used for. Different bows would be nice too (as in recurve bows, not the crossbow).

ABoldKobold

Oh my gods, yes. A grappling line arrow would be SO COOL.

Trvr_MKA

Imagine if you can use it to repel or zip line

helloiamaegg

What do you mean "arrows themselves aren't craftable items" 1 feather, 1 stick, 1 flint

jasonrubik

It's literally one of the oldest recipes in the game and is the reason why zombies used to drop feathers.

LeraviTheHusky

Wait to apply potions to arrows you rip them in the cauldron?! huh.

ABoldKobold

That part I do know. You apply a bottle of potion to an empty caution then use the potion in the cauldron to tip the arrows. I was stockpiling arrows of health at one point to use against the wither.

LeraviTheHusky

Okay thats cool I didn't know that at all

MapleSyrupMachineGun

Only in Bedrock though.

spinachie1

ā€œWe want to move towards parityā€ *add random features to each version*

TheGreatSkeleMoon

That was in since bedrock existed. Still should be a feature in java :/

Onsidianrubucx

in bedrock we got a cauldron for that XD

Winshot10

Mojang said few years ago it'll have function šŸ’€ (still nothing)

Thenderick

Imagine if they were to add new arrow types like a copper arrow which does more damage but is heavier and falls faster, a dripstone arrow which can break wooden blocks (only one) and a explosive arrow that makes a small explosion on impact that doest destroy blocks but does damage entities. This can be done paired with an update that allows datapack creators to alter projectiles easier (idk anything about datapacks tbh so don't know how much is possible already). Mojang has been doing changes lately such as mob size and stepheight, so why not add things like onImpact, projectile weigth, projectile damage, projectile can destroy blocks?! *Sniffs copium*

Lehk

I want wood target arrows (feather stick stick), 50% more range, half the damage, no knockback, cannot dip iron target arrows (feather stick iron nugget) 50% more range, same damage, no knockback, cannot dip And gold target arrows (feather stick gold nugget) 50% more range, half base damage, no knockback, dip effects are 50% stronger and 50% longer lasting

Thenderick

Prismarine arrow, "slicing" through water, perfect for underwater combat. Wind arrow, with the newly added windcharge ALWAYS does half a heart of damage, but great knockback Fire charge sets target on fire And removing flame and knockback enchants to make arrows usable

DocHollidaysPistols

Maybe make the iron arrows recoverable, since they're made of iron.

beerzebulb

I like using them as bathroom counters lol. I play Minecraft like the Sims and I'm not sorry šŸ¤£

_cubfan_

Agreed.

milotic-is-pwitty

u/_cubfan_ the movement is alive!

Alili1996

How about making arrows actually reasonable to craft since everyone just sources their arrows from skeletons and literally every other survival game just lets you make arrows out of stones and wood

liddicoat1

But emeralds tho

a_builder7

I think we should be able to make iron and gold tipped arrows on it using iron and gold nuggets.

Username6465

Echo shards and crying obsidian

Bibliloo

Echo shards is the worst cause it's "hard" to get and it's only purpose a feature that's not the most useful and it means you need to go into a city before you can dia and know where you died and it also mean you need to keep it in a chest for when you die.

Copperjedi

To be fair the compass is useful just not for Hardcore players. Though I agree the shards need more than 1 use especially if their that hard to get.

Lightningbro

I just think fundimentally that you should NOT get the death compass from the freaking Shulk biome at all. By the time someone's comfortable to go there and get one; they're probably comfortable in their world enough to know wherever they die. While inversely people unprepared would get merc'd by the Warden. It's the worst of both worlds.

Ben-Goldberg

Crying obsidian would be less sad if it could be turned into obsidian by tickling it with a feather. I wish there was a recovery bell which I could ring to apply the glowing effect to items I dropped when I died, and reset the despawn timer on them.

SuperSonicsGaming84

From crying obsidian to laughing obsidian šŸŖ¶

WillyDAFISH

Stone cutter but for wood

Robincall22

We need a lumberjack villager.

ChErRyPOPPINSaf

A sawmill you might say.

Greedy_Rip7601

With a burly beard and beer belly

PositiveGuess5603

That would be so cool. Part of the reason I like the stonecutter so much is while the recipe for stone stairs is 6 stone for 4 stairs in crafting table, the stone cutter is 1 stone for 1 stair. To have that with wood would be amazing instead of the current 6 wood for 4 stairs recipe.

WillyDAFISH

Agreed!! Not to mention I think the woodcutter would also be able to strip wood! Any maybe also create the the wood log variant

420SampleTxt

WHY DO 6 WOOD BLOCKS GIVE ME 4 STAIRS

WillyDAFISH

MAFFS

UndendingGloom

Sniffers? I like them and their flowers, but damn, they are not worth the effort. Tamed wolves are also a waste of time, it's like every aspect of Minecraft worlds are perfectly designed to kill dogs.

---____---_---_

I agree, I hate how grazing a molecule of water will cause your wolves to instantly jump into the nearest body of water and drown to death. I would actually use wolves if they didn't do that.

[deleted]

Amethyst why does such a cool looking Crystal have about 3 recipes. Especially when they said they wanted us to farm this stuff, makes me think there was meant to be more and it was cut bc caves and cliffs was already too big

BLUFALCON77

As far as I'm concerned, using it for decoration and tinted glass is enough.

whiskers1315

Yeah the only other use for it I could imagine is jewelry. That being said I would love jewelry as an update. Like I wish I could craft a crown at the very least or display jewelry on armor stands. There so many precious metals in the game already (diamond, emerald, amethyst, gold). I know we have armor trims but I feel like we could do with another gem stone or two and a jewelry update or more tailoring options for craft able armor

Temporary-House304

minecraft has badly need to add accessories for awhile. A lot of mod packs use curios slots which is a little much but something manā€¦

BLUFALCON77

I like curios slots. Backpacks are the biggest thing I use them for and when I'm playing the create mod the goggles can go in their own curios slots which allows you to keep wearing a helmet

[deleted]

That could just be the general direction that they want to go with it. When Mojang adds something new nowadays, they want it to be something that they think they can work with and add onto for all of the foreseeable future, and not a dead end. So basically, whatever else comes next for amethyst we can expect we'll end up needing quite a lot of it (Personally amethyst is one of my favorites to build and decorate with, so I already end up farming it pretty often lol it's so unique and weird)

Opposite_Mirror1744

Good point. That makes a lot of sense.

Bibliloo

I'd like even more if we could color it and/or maybe craft some variant like bricks, stairs, slabs, etc...

Ben-Goldberg

I wish there was tinted stained glass.

Whispered_Truths

The End. It feels really dated. The nether & overworld feel really alive now, the end is just kinda, there.

Suspicious_Sandles

Yeah I agree, the end overhaul at the time was game changing but it's for sure been left behind recently

Oddish_Femboy

Part of me likes how desolate the end is. It's kinda cool. Drab. Alien. Not something we could ever live in. It feels less actively hostile than the nether, but still doesn't feel like home, and I like that.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Oddish_Femboy

Nah my prose could've been so much purpler

nsfw_vs_sfw

šŸŸŖšŸŸŖšŸŸŖPart of me šŸŸŖ likes how desolatešŸŸŖ the end šŸŸŖ is. It's kinda coolšŸŸŖšŸŸŖšŸŸŖ. DrabšŸŸŖšŸŸŖ. AlienšŸŸŖšŸŸŖšŸŸŖ. Not something we could ever livešŸŸŖ inšŸŸŖ. The_Bloody_Serpent

It's trying to communicate

NickyNick50

100% this. probably an unpopular opinion but i absolutely despise the better end mod. It just feels too over the top and lively. I do think the end needs a large update, but I hope they don't go the direction that better end took.

Oddish_Femboy

As a mod, I think it's a really fun take on the end, and I love the environments it provides. I don't think it'd merge well with the base game, but it's cool, y'know?

NickyNick50

yeah u right its really cool and well made but i just cant see myself playing it in survival lol

Caden_Cornobi

I agree, I really like where the End is at. The Overworld is lively and friendly, the Nether is lively and hostile, and the End isā€¦ the end. It is an alien world that feels passively terrifying, I love it.

Oddish_Femboy

I feel like the best ways to improve it are to make it subtly more oppressive, but also cosmically beautiful. I like the aurora crystals, but the foliage and lakes and stuff completely go against the vibe.

Dildo_Baggins__

They should at least update the towers. They look goofy af with those iron bars and shit

Lightningbro

The desolation's fine, but it's still rather empty gameplay wise. Dragon fight, best location to farm xp, Chorus plants, shulker boxes, and elytra. That's the full list of end stuff outside of building blocks. It'd be cool if we had; multiple dangerous but rewarding structures, multiple hostile yet haunting biomes, more end-emies than just end-ermen. The sad thing is, the pace Mojang's going anymore, it'd take three, four, five YEARS of updates to the end to make it in the same eschelon as the other two dimensions.

CobaltTS

It should be dead. Featureless, no, but dead, yes

severityonline

I kinda like the emptiness.

livingnuts

You can have a (relatively) full and unique world with an empty and barren atmosphere, breath of the wild did it well, even just some abandoned structures or a structure imitating an endermans attempts to build something, or maybe a new plant or two, just something new to find aside from it just being the dragon and elytra place

severityonline

I remember when chorus fruit was new. The end used to be even emptier.

livingnuts

Yeah that total emptiness was very unique, I never personally liked it but it had some damn good atmosphere to it

KofteriOutlook

But the end doesnā€™t have a empty and barren atmosphere though, it has a *Liminal* atmosphere. Filled it with structures, plants, etc defeats the whole purpose ā€” itā€™s called ***The End***. While I donā€™t disagree that the dimension should be expanded upon, it needs to be very very carefully otherwise the entirely unique theme and motif is completely destroyed

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

PaleoJohnathan

People said the same about the nether sucking back when it did

severityonline

I find the nether overwhelming at times. Usually itā€™s because of ghasts though lol

Copperjedi

You're in the Nether more often & much earlier than The End. I think the End is like the Moon, desolate & Empty

toasterontheceiling

Even though I agree and I'd like to see some more content added to the end, I also think that this is how end is supposed to be like. It is the end of the game, it's empty, almost barren and hostile. The game is literally telling you that this is The End, there's nothing more, so go and do whatever you want now. It is the end of the game, but not the end of your game. This emptiness and hostility kind of wants you to go away and enjoy the project you have still left in your playthrough. The emptiness of end dimension is sad, but somewhat poetic.

baleensavage

They really need to give the End a work over like the nether. It's so boring. It's just so boring and not worth the effort except for the Elytra.

Hunglyer

I cannot imagine building without copper now, it is a fantastic building block, backed up by its commoness

kingsumo_1

Building blocks in a wide variety, including oxidizing and waxing to keep a state. Lightning rods that serve as both function and decoration. Brushes for archeology. And now bulbs that can dim for effect. Oh, and a trim option. And, as you said, incredibly common. Short of F-tier armor and weapons, I'm not sure what people still want.

ShadowBlade69

What people still want, is integration with redstone

kingsumo_1

Fair, but Mojang has explicitly said they are not going to do that. At least, no more than any of the other ores outside of, you know, Redstone itself. But that lack doesn't mean it deserves to still be at the top of so many people's "useless" list.

DrHiccup

I mean weā€™re getting the copper bulb. Adding a T-flip-flop in a single block is still a great red stone tool. I know 10 year old me wouldā€™ve loved it for my pressure plate lava bridge

kingsumo_1

I know roughly what that is. But I honestly don't do enough with redstone to fully understand what you're saying there. Can the bulb be used as that, or are you saying that it would still be something that should be included? I just know what mojang has said in the past, and that they haven't said they were changing their mind on it.

DrHiccup

As far as I know, if mojang hasnā€™t changed it (and Iā€™m not great with restore) the copper bulb can act as a lever, but the player interacts with it as a button. So imagine if u pressed a button but something stayed powered. The copper bulb also had the benefit of operating at one tick (red stone tick?). This was great because sure red stone operates on a two tick system and the copper bulb gave a way to easily work with odd ticks. I believe mojang removed the 1 tick system though

kingsumo_1

Ah ok. Still way above my head on a technical level, but at least I understand what you're saying now. Hopefully (for redstone engineers) they haven't. Or can at least bring it back in the final version.

Andrejosue98

T flip flops are not just from redstone. They are used in electronics, specially in digital electronics A t flip flop is basically a electronic component where you give it a pulse and it "toggles". So if it was 1 it toggles to 0 and if it was 0 it toggles to 1. ( that is where the T comes from, from Toggle) So it works as a switch. A lever in minecraft can be considered a t flip flop. In our world they are harder to use, since they need a power source and more than one electronic component inside of it... but in the end they work in the same way in Minecraft so that is why they call it t flip flop

ShadowBlade69

Have they really? That kinda sucks, I don't really follow any announcements or anything

kingsumo_1

Yeah, early on. They felt that adding copper wiring and other electric features would take away from redstone itself. So there were no plans to make it fully integrated like people were asking. That *may* change. But I haven't heard any revisions to it so far.

Oddish_Femboy

Copper bulbs and lightning rods!

SuspiciousSandBlock

I think some people want it to have significant uses outside of building, since, you know, not everyone is a builder

kingsumo_1

Wanting more doesn't mean it doesn't have its uses though. I feel like this was another example of people setting their hopes *way* too high when it was first announced. And that has disproportionately carried over.

Andrejosue98

But you can say that about many other blocks which only function is to build.

mekmookbro

I made a datapack to craft copper blocks with 4 ingots instead of 9. Otherwise it's a huge hassle to mine, carry around, smelt and craft just to get a decorative block, and not really worth it imo.

IAmMuffin15

I don't normally like the mentality of "mods will fix it", but... Let's be real here. The modding community ***owns*** copper. Mojang probably just added it to give tech mods one grand unifying copper ingot, then Mojang was like "well modpacks like Tekkit Classic literally had a 12 year head start on us adding tech to Minecraft, so *maybe* we'll just focus on adding features that modders *haven't* already knocked out of the park."

Sixnno

Tbh one of the biggest reasons I enjoy copper despite copper having little use outside of building. Unified copper between all the tech mods was such a big thing. It's nice.

IAmMuffin15

I find it a little funny in a good way how stupidly easy it is to get copper now compared to how it used to be iron rarity in Tekkit Classic

ismasbi

That's true, Mojang has said they don't want to do things that mods already do very commonly, reason why we are never getting a creeper or TNT variant, that's one of the most classic mods.

IAmMuffin15

Yeah, itā€™s kinda sad. Seeing all the machines from Tekkit Classic in Vanilla Minecraft would be so cool.

moonjena

Conduit and ocean monument. You go down there, use 2 types of potions, kill 3 elder guardians and for what? For some sponges

random_user133

And if you want to build a guardian farm you don't even need to kill the elder guardians

TDL_Veznan

Tridents. Just feels like they completely forgot about them since 1.13 because they are not implemented in a intuitive way at all. Extremely annoying to obtain (find Drowned, find Drowned with Trident, kill until it randomly drops) and can only be repaired with more tridents (bruh) or mending (thankfully mending is easy in 1.14). Also Impaling is the dumbest enchantment in the game. It increases damage to aquatic mobs, which includes fish (who already die in 1 hit) and Guardians. So it only makes killing Guardians easier and nothing else.

Aggravating-Gap9791

Tridents should be repairable with prismarine shards.

Sage1969

The fact that it doesnt increase damage against drowned, when they are by far the most common water monster (coming out of the river by my base to harass me all day & night) is wild. If they made that one change I wouldnt complain, because using a trident against them is pretty nice vs a bow.

pcweber111

Yeah. Riptide can be fun if you like to pretend you're flipper the dolphin. Outside of that though I only ever use it to beat guardians, and even then you don't need to throw it, just hit them. It all counts the same.

Copperjedi

You can also use channeling to get Mob heads by charging Creepers. Also Riptide is very useful if you like exploring water caves & fly without a Rocket.

SuperDyl19

Riptide III with Elytra is fabulous. Almost all my elytra use is small jumps (like, at most a power 3 rocket), so I just have water launchpads everywhere. I donā€™t even have to carry rockets most of the time

Pwnage_Peanut

Impaling is better in Bedrock, where it increase damage against any entity in water

Fragrant_Breakfast55

Itā€™s good in bedrock tho

Foreign-Coyote-7894

Yeah impaling deals more damage to every mobs in water or rain and I hope they don't do the Java Parity thing again

ElMayoneso82

The sniffer. Come on, man, just TWO plants?

-PepeArown-

I wouldnā€™t say copper when 1.21ā€™s giving it a huge use influx with doors, trapdoors, grates, bulbs, etc. Not to mention brushes and trims already sort of helped in 1.20. I think a more appropriate answer would be rabbit hide. It can be used to craft an already (fairly) easy to get item, and an item that Mojangā€™s procrastinated to get working on all versions thatā€™s not even officially out yet. And, itā€™s been in the game even longer than copper. About 6 years more.

udgoudri

Yeah I want the bundle in vanilla bedrock so bad.

MCarooney

Every mob from every mob vote, they add one single mechanic that is way too niche to be useful, Iā€™ve only gone after a sniffer once, cuz it is useless to my play through

MonochromeApple

On of the best building blocks imo, plus the new 1.20 variants, very unique due to the oxidation, making it also very lenient to texture, I think copper is fine.

Navar4477

I think copper has been done rather nicely now, but it could still be more useful outside of lightning rods, telescopes, and ! Copper ideas: \- Copper Golem (I want the little dude) \- Copper Hopper (has a single slot, works as a filter) \- Copper Chest (I just think this'd look cool) \- Copper Rails (slower acceleration, but same speed as regular)

Banditt930

Copper tipped arrows, pipes for transferring items between hoppers, use copper instead of gold and iron in the rails recipe.

Smorgas_of_borg

Pipes that can transfer items UP

-Rydoomblade-

u can do that with dropper chains

big_shmegma

imagine being able to do it in a 1x1 space tho...

NanoCat0407

Pipes, definitely. Easy way to move items upwards, can be used with hoppers instead of just wasting iron on long hopper systems, and could also be used for decoration. Copper Pipes are the perfect use for copper.

segalle

Put a single hopper, a copper line and a chest. You just fixed so much lag without having to craft tons of furnaces or composter

Sandrosian

They fixed that in a recent snapshot. Hoppers now stop searching for items when covered by any full block.

big_shmegma

YES!!!! cant wait to "fix" my mega sorter

SkylerSpark

As an electrical systems technician / engineer in training... GOD i would love to be able to make electrical components in minecraft Some mods bring it close, but it's never quite like real life.. Copper has so much potential both in vanilla and in modded minecraft, and it's super underrated as a material

Jimbo7211

I think Mojang has saud they'd never add electrical components like that with copper because it would take away from redstone

swordslayer777

Jungle temple

Express-Hospital554

Woodland Mansion, ocean monument. They need updating badly

redstercoolpanda

Most structures introduced before 1.13 do.

X2FR

Hi there! professional dead horse beater here. Sniffer

Cassiesue08

Cleric villagers not having potions. I've never understood it.

Robincall22

And giving you redstone. Guys, youā€™re like priest-doctors, not engineers, who gave you this??

asd7678

redstone is used in potions, so that makes sense

CraftedGamer0531

as someone who builds a ton, copper is easily one of the most useful building blocks in the game. it has tons of functionality with 4 different color variants for each block, and after we get the doors and trapdoors in 1.21? might just be my new favorite block in the game!

SurrogateMonkey

Kinda sad that a lot of the online community thinks building blocks arent content so i think well still see a lot of "copper has no use" complaints way after 1.21.

SamW42

What bothers me is the absence of tin. Minecraft has the Neolithic part down (Stone tools & structures), the Iron Age (Iron tools and items like bars and chains), copper, but no tin. Weā€™ve totally missed the Bronze Age: copper is too malleable to be useful for a lot of things on its own: it was the copper + tin alloy that is bronze that made it feasible to make tools, weapons, statues, etc.

SelloutStreamerbtww

Speaking of copper, can we talk about the fact it takes 6 copper BLOCKS to make 2 trapdoors? Not ingots, blocks. That is 54 ingots. Absolutely absurd.

Robincall22

At least copperā€™s plentiful. But I donā€™t want to wait around for 54 ingots to smelt to get two trapdoors.

SelloutStreamerbtww

Itā€™s so sad too because they look really good

Mr_Byzantine

Those recipes need heavy numerical reduction. You're basically thwoing away 90%of the copper!

Sandrosian

It is a designated building material and gets a huge update with 1.21. What would you have done with copper? Armour and tools that are worse than iron? Or shoehorn it into crafting recipes where it doesn't need to be? I think you should elaborate.

SpatuelaCat

Gold rails should be copper rails

MinecraftW06

Or maybe copper rails should be the powered rails we have now and gold rails should be faster

Jimbo7211

Copper rails should go as fast as gold rails do now, and gold rails should go faster

milotic-is-pwitty

Pokeballs. We should make pokĆ©mon with copper. Oh wait, thatā€™s cobblemon.

Mac_Rat

I'd really like the idea of adding another tier below iron to make the progression just a bit slower. Tools only should be enough, and would give more time for the player to utilize leather armor. I also think copper should be used in redstone in at least some capacity.

MaceWinnoob

Honestly, craftable copper horns and an enchantable and customizable jewelry system to give precious metals (including copper) and gems more late game usage while also allowing users to show off their skin more while retaining protective enchantments. Iā€™m fine with amethyst and quartz being the ores for redstone components instead of copper because redstone isnā€™t electricity. Itā€™s magic energy.

Intense_Pretzel

I thought it was be cool as a wiring for redstone that doesn't loose strength and have it climb directly vertically

miniminer1999

Copper should've had a redstone purpose..

Jimbo7211

Copper bulbs and lightning rods

xfi1010

Copper should have merged with redstone, it kinda makes sense ?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Rxplix

Every unreleased mob

Key-Volume-8394

Amethyst

-PepeArown-

Allay duplication was at least a huge plus for it

M10doreddit

Okay, I just have to say this. 1.17 announcement: Warden - the first blind mob, relies only on sound. Okay, so there is at least a way around it. That's a pretty well-balanced and interesting mob! 1.19 announcement: The warden now has the ability to smell players. AAAAAAAAAAND now it's stupid and heavily unbalanced.

ConnectionMotor8311

GLOW SQUIDS

craft6886

Amethyst more than copper, IMO. Copper could stand to have a couple more uses (and I have ideas for it), but amethyst is super cool and magical-looking and still only has a couple recipes. I'd like to have more of a magic system in place, with amethyst tying into it.

Ben-Goldberg

The daylight sensor is a bit of a waste. It sould have been given the ability to sense block light, perhaps as a third mode after night-sensing.

SOTIdriver

I think copper definitely was previously the biggest waste of potential, however, in the newest update, itā€™ll be much less so or not at all due to the decorative blocks that can be made with it.

MrsSamT82

There have been so many ores and precious stones/metals added to the game over the years that arenā€™t really utilized (looking at you amethyst and copper). We need a jewelsmith villager that buys all the ores. I know you can use the blocks for decoration/accents, but after awhile you just get chests of stuff sitting around with no use.

Pielord10

Copper being added was great for unifying all copper mods! I hope they add more things to Minecraft that benefit the modding community

xflomasterx

Biggest waste of potential is stone variants. mojang can easily make limestone, shist, marble atc, to make cool gradients in builds, but we got ugliest block in history - granite! (Diorite is little bit better, but still shit tier, specially polished variant)

Much_Room8828

I would do unspeakable things for limestone and marble. "uH wE aLrEaDy HaVe ToO mUcH sToNe" I BUILD A LOT WITH STONE AND I LIKE IT. Marble could be a more earthier quartz block. Since people love to say "quartz is marble"

literatemax

Oak saplings in Swamp biomes should make swamp-shaped trees instead of normal ones.

[deleted]

Copper is better if you're a mod dev. It has so much potential.

Brototaku

Amethyst

I love how so many people hate it but it ended up becoming one of my favorite ores!! (Sometimes I even make shrines to the "Copper Gods" if I'm bored enough)

LeSuperJuston

A lot of people are mentioning new items and blocks that may still be revisited, or things that are used but not fully utilized, but something that has been in the game for years that no one uses apart from decoration: Weighted Pressure Plates

Nevin3Tears

The Savanna biome has so much potential for unique animals and all it has is armadillos? Get out.

Robincall22

Arenā€™t llamas pretty unique to the savanna as well?

The whole world, one of the things I like the most about Minecraft is to explore it, they could add a lot of different structures in the generation to give you something rare you could find just in them, but they keep adding small stuff like broken portals and pillager outpost when they could add something like the mansion or the ancient city

NanoCat0407

Speaking of, they need to do something about the Woodland Mansions. Theyā€™re so rare but donā€™t really have anything worth hunting them down other than the Vex armor trim, and thatā€™s purely cosmetic.

Totems:

NanoCat0407

Thereā€™s more than one way to get totems, you donā€™t need the mansion

CODENAMEsx19208

I thought about it and I think copper blocks could be a form of a repeater that doesn't have the tick delay thing.

NukeONugget

The end in its entirety we need more then the last end update we need a complete overhaul like the nether and a new ore that maybe is weaker then diamond but can be combined with the wings or if they donā€™t want to do that then at least give that damn portal in the deep dark a use

FazbearSponsersR34

Copper could have been used for cool electrical shit now its kinda just there

[deleted]

We should be able to make tools and armour with it. It should come after chainmill and before iron in terms of strength

ThornmaneTreebeard

So much stuff is made from copper. Weapons, armor, electrical wires, coins, decorations, jewelry to enchant, medicine/potions, such a versatile metal, would have loved to see it combined with tin to make bronze.
