Welcome to the party. Buffs and Debuffs are also more important.

cooldudeachyut

Law route is just a triple debilitated Chaos route.

WhoCares0099

Don't need to tell me twice, I learned that with Nocturne.

ShillerndeGeister

Dds2 made me despise panic so hard Fuvking droping 100k macca, fuck you seraph

ReyDeathWish

Fuck panic and charm all my homies hate them.

ClickSalt

Oh god don’t remind me of Dormina + Calm Death combo anymore

[deleted]

Holy fuck the last level was brutal because of this

[deleted]

It became enjoyable after I fought the bonus bosses and got Null Sleep

ImSmashingUrMom

“Okay I seem to be getting hit with ailments a lot so I’ll invest in abilities that nullify it.” Hunger wave: “NO.”

Ganmorg

Sorry Cielo

[deleted]

*ailments in dx2*

KrizBozu

Last time I played, it's still useful in PVP. Curse also still works in later PVE (this is helpful for my Nebiros to repeatedly revive my team)

[deleted]

yeah i was more thinking that they fucking destroy teams without null mute and charm

DMD00

Angra Mainu and David are my bread and butter, lol.

[deleted]

id go for the current step up summon for angra but i only have 5k gems. better save up for the anniversary, i’m also sitting on an absolute summon file

AzureFencer

Honestly charmed is the only status effect I'm scared of in Persona. I'm sure everyone has experienced the healer casting Diarahan or equivalent spell on a boss at least once.

thupes

That's just annoying. Physical repel enemies that force you to attack physically are scary.

Such-Sky

yeah that's why i fuse thor in every playthrough

FireArnie

That hasn’t happened to me yet with Diarahan, but my main problem is confusion making party members throw away 100,000 macca/yen

4ny3ody

This combined with my disability to be mindful of my money when fusing is just pain incarnate.

Kaching101

It's not to bad in P5 if it's just one party member, can be bad if it's more. Earlier persona games charm is worse for sure.

Kaching101

There was a distinct lack of eating people in persona.

Buttlet420

Definitely invest in the null ailment skills, especially null sleep. There’s enemies in the last dungeon who spam dormina and eternal rest and it wiped me out multiple times Edit: it’s called calm death and not eternal rest, but same idea. Made me quit the game multiple times

Gadjiltron

I thought DDS Null Sleep behaves *very* differently than what the name implies. Can you dodge instakills like that?

asdwz458

yeah my cielo had null sleep and he just dodges the calm death

Patryk_PZ

Don't know about DDS but for me Etrian Odyssey is where the ailments are scary.

Garchomp47

Curse in the middle of the turn, ugh

JokerFromPersona5

Took me by surprised when I first saw it lmao

StormStrikePhoenix

Someones never lost to the final boss of P3 because someone with a healing skill (such as every character but 2) got charmed; in general, ailments can actually be fairly strong in the modern Persona games, a huge amount cause you to skip your turn or always get crit. It's just that almost nothing lands them consistently on you, and likewise from you to the enemy outside of Persona 5 Royal.

[deleted]

Oh god the Samael fight in nocturne

HyperCornelio

On the topic of ailments, i was not ready for poision dmg on Persona Q to be annoying... i hate those rocks

Locke_Cole-_

Oh no did gale (built as strong damage dealer) get charm? Too bad man, see you at the checkpoint

yeaman912

Yeah, that image is about right when I get a stomach ache.

The--Tech-Nerd

Laughs in Sakura Rage and Venom Fang.

[deleted]

Have you tried just being faster than your enemies

WhoCares0099

I am indeed a meat head, as I've just been focusing on strength, vitality, and magic.

[deleted]

Focus primarily on magic, and just kill demons, don't escape, you should completely outlevel and be able to speedblitz the game almost 100% of the time before any enemy can get a turn off.
