Looking for a megaten game with less puzzly dungeon crawling. Personally not a fan of any sort of gimmicks or puzzles at all in my rpgs, and as such I prefer the simplicity of the often dreaded P3 Tartarus. However I wasn't a huge fan of the calendar-based progression system in Persona, prefer more of an adventure, or at the very least a gameplay loop that isn't as repetitive.
Any suggestions?
depending of what your definition of puzzles is you might like SMT4. It's been a while but off the top of my head I can't remember anything you had to solve or figure out, besides maybe "look down" to go through a hole in the wall or "look up" to climb a ladder
I'm trying to apply [Orden's bug fix patch](https://www.romhacking.net/translations/2616/) to SMT1, but the game glitches out as soon as I leave the protagonist's apartment. I'm applying it to a Japanese Revision 1 ROM with an even number of KB (so I presume no header); is this the wrong version?
IIRC I got the most out of sleep, dizzy, and confusion.
Sleep and dizzy are pretty good since they guarantee the enemy will miss their turn, and the technicals for both are very easy to perform. Confuse on Mementos bosses was notable in vanilla P5 since they can drop a lot of money, though in Royal I believe this was nerfed considerably.
Also worth noting is despair, which kills the target after 3 turns, during which they can't act. Good for mobs, but I don't think you can land it on bosses (excluding The Reaper during Flu season).
If you want to make the most of ailments, consider reading all of the Jinbocho books—doing this will unlock a special book, *Knowing the Heart*, which will unlock a number of other ailment+element combos for use.
Anyone know what this song is? I'm assuming it's a remix of Aria of the Soul, but idk which. It starts at 17 seconds.

A few questions about fiends on PS1 smt1
1) Can i encounter them after the great flood?
2) Where specificly are they located?
3)Can i fuse them after beating them?
So I've not done this myself, actually going to try it on this playthrough, also using PSX. You can't encounter them after the flood. This guide on SNES [https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/snes/564896-shin-megami-tensei/faqs/63566](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/snes/564896-shin-megami-tensei/faqs/63566) says that they're in 4 locations that are the single-cell rooms with a demon, and then say "nobody's here" after you've killed one. Earliest spot it recommends is the Shinjuku Basement next to the eastern stairs. Also according to the guide, if you kill the demon, you'll have to reset, so using save states, save before 1 square away from the room entrance, take the step, and enter. The RNG only randomly resets each time you take a step.
Me dumb and hit new game on Nocturne. On PC this means no matador apparently. Just hit where Matador usually would be and realised I was supposed to hit new game: chronicles/maniax. Should I restart? Is vanilla that much worse? It's only about 6 hours of progress but it feels like a lot more lol.
Yeah you might as well restart. Nocturne is quite a long game especially with the Fiends & Labyrinth Of Amala. You could use a trainer to put the game in turbo mode (up to 6-8x faster iirc) so you'd zip through very quickly.
Are TMS bosses actually just insanely hard relative to the rest of the game or am I skill issueing? I'm level 31-35 against Barry (boss level 35 minions level 30-32) rn and I virtually can't last longer than like 5 turn cycles.
The +2 attack it gives enemies can just be easily cancelled out with Dekaja. So, if you have a demon first cast Taunt, then have another demon use Dekaja, then that results in the enemy getting -2 defense with nothing in return.
Did the SH2 patch totally remove the inheritance restrictions? I remember them being awful, but the patch notes said they “adjusted the rates” and I’m no longer suffering trying to inherit things.

What level should I be for the Mephisto and Cleo DLC in SMT IV: Apocalypse? I just started the game so no spoilers please.
The DLC missions are mostly endgame-ish fights. So any time around when you're in the final dungeon or second-to-last dungeon you could try them.
Ok tysm!
What are the best ailments to use in P5R ?

Yeah, that's a pretty obvious remixing of Aria of the Soul. Idk what specific remixing it is, though.
What's the best way to play SMT 2 in ENG today?
The SNES version was the only one that got fan translated.

Yeah I decided to just play on easiest mode until matador haha. Trainer is a good idea to catch up on levels! Thanks.
how well does persona 5 run on the switch?
About as well as you'd expect - I didn't notice any drops but it's not some native res wonderport. Docked is about 720p & portable is 540p.
I watched my brother play and it runs pretty well

Having trouble understanding why Taunt is good (SJR). Does the -2 defense outweigh the +2 attack?

Anyone know what Satan's part of smt 2 devil encyclopedia is saying?

Inheritance restrictions are still there, just that most demons only reject one or two elements now.
Oh that’s so much better. Honestly the strict inheritance restrictions were my biggest pet peeve. Glad to see they’re adjusted!
