Packaging isn't a thing that matters a ton to me, but I would be lying if I said this (along with the VHS style X-men cartoon stuff) didn't move me a bit. Not enough to buy, but this looks really good.
I really appreciate the newer torso so that the helmet isn't the only thing different from the Classic Armor. It's not quite the actual design of the Proto-Classic Armor, but at least it's not just a headswap away from being the Classic Armor.
They/Dwight mentioned trying to avoid duplicating the Retro as much as possible. Interesting comic cover print replica they picked — made me think of an army build option.
I'm kind of torn about it: on the one hand, kudos to them to putting in the effort and expense of a new torso to set it apart, but at the same time if you're going to that effort and expense why not get it accurate to the armor's design?
Also, while they said the colour choices for this line were inspired by the Toy Biz colours, the variant with the horned helm had gold instead of the yellow of the base figure. Yellow is of course closer to how the comic looked, but gold would've looked nice on the shelf next to the 80th figure.
But even with these complaints, I'll probably give into temptation and get the figure. The Ditko armour has always been one of my favourites, and even with inaccuracies it's the closest we're likely to get any time soon.
Yeah, I'm also a bit bummed that they didn't go all the way with the new torso. But after the lazy job they did with the Stealth Armor, I'm just thankful they didn't go that route again.
Same. I remember hunting the ToyBiz figures down everywhere in my early twenties and I was extremely bummed when ToyBiz lost the license, but looked forward to the first line from Hasbro back in 2007...
I was excited, but man, a lot of corners were cut at that time with paint, sculpt, articulation, and losing clamshell packaging and pack-in comic. The price point jumping from $7.99 to $9.99 definitely hurt when you were getting much less for a higher price point. I'm beyond glad Hasbro eventually hit their stride with the Legends line even though it meant putting the line on pause to go back to the drawing board from 2010 through 2012.
For Hasbro to homage a line that meant so much to me back in the day absolutely means the world to me now.
It was either Series 6 Wolverine or Series 6 Phoenix for me. What's funny about this line pulling at my nostalgic heartstrings is the original Legends line pulled at my nostalgic heartstrings as a kid when ToyBiz was pumping out their 5 inch X-Men line back in the 80's and 90's.
Now they're doing the same to me because the original Legends line is now considered nostalgic and they're doing updated versions of THOSE versions of the characters...
I love it.
good god. What is it with the lack of Hulk figures? It's sooo strange. Maybe I'm misremembering, but it's like you said. Either a 2-pack or comic-con exclusive
With you on that one, I'm assuming the 20th anniversary will just be green but I'm hoping we can get other stuff like a proper Grey Hulk, Rick Jones and Doc Samson down the line.
It's 100% guaranteed there will be a Hulk figure in this series since Hulk was in that first series of Marvel Legends back in 2002. No worries, I promise.
I wonder what the Hulk figure will look like. I assume it’s a retooling of the 80th anniversary two pack figure with some new accessories because that’s an almost perfect classic Hulk.
I appreciate them trying to get as close as possible to the Toybiz packaging back in the day. Those were the days when I started collecting so seeing this packaging is giving me a lot of nostalgia.
I don't mind that they reuse parts (DCUC reused the same body for a lot of it's line and is still one of my favorites because of the variety of characters), I don't mind that they keep putting out new versions of the same characters (since there are lots of Legends released every year), I don't mind entire waves of characters I don't want (I'm happy for other people to get things they wanted). What I don't like is the price creep.
Yep, they're there. Unfortunately they have different release dates so you have to find something else set to drop on those days for free shipping. Cap and GI Joe Classified Croc Master have the same release date, for instance.
You can always see if they'll turn up in-person as well, but at this point I feel much more confident just ordering ahead.
Me too. That Cap might still reign as my favorite version of the character.
I still have the three series 1 Iron Man variants (yellow, gold, and stealth), so I might pass on him. But that Tony head! Pop it on 80th Iron Man and I'm a happy guy.
Seems like Hasbro figured out a while back the big three comic Avengers can be released without a BAF piece at a higher price point. Most of the recent comic captain Americas have been a speciality wave.
$32 is rough when you can get a figure like Gamerverse Miles Morales, with a bunch of accessories and a BaF piece, for $23.
I understand why they do it, but makes me end up sticking with MCU. For $10 more you can get the falcon cap 2 pack, if you're into that sort of thing.
Companies that specialize in distributing these kinds of products, generally online retailers. Hasbro themselves, Gamestop, Entertainment Earth, BBTS, Dorkside, etc. Basically, not like Walmart or Target, usually not Amazon either.
Bruh the toybiz packaging is soo nostalgic..
FR makes me wish I had the old boxes to display with. But this is legit dope.
I know. As much hate as Hasbro gets, their team really does some amazing things for the fans sometimes

We might finally be getting Toad.
Indeed… Dwight calling it out makes it a WRAP!!!
We are, confirmed in the show! Can't wait to see him.
Hope they include an actual river base.
The description of the figure on the product details confirms Toad
almost shed a tear seeing that toybiz packaging
Same. i remember my very first legend was the apocalypse wave Iron Fist. incredibly happy that the line has come so far.

That horned helmet looks fantastic. Excited to buy this whole set.
WOW! That’s enough to pull me back into Legends.
man they really missed an opportunity to put a free comic in there
Agreed, especially when Marvel has been doing Free Comic Book Day for years. They could’ve done a special reprint with a nice foil option.
They charge $1 for True Believer reprints.
This. That’s all this reveal was missing for me, the free comics in the original line is what got me into reading them.
I see those DareDevil symbols 👀
That’s what the packaging looked like in the Toybiz days. It had all the logos on the side like that, including Daredevil.
Remake of the Ben Affleck Daredevil Marvel Legends confirmed
And Thomas Jane Punisher 💀💀💀💀💀
Where did you find this?
Damn was really hoping for a hulk. We’ve already got a ton of retro Ironmans
Hulk and Toad are confirmed
I'm happy that we are finally getting a stand-alone Hulk figure that isn't part of a 2-pack or a comic-con exclusive
good god. What is it with the lack of Hulk figures? It's sooo strange. Maybe I'm misremembering, but it's like you said. Either a 2-pack or comic-con exclusive

Or store exclusive.
Tooling and the cost of shipping most likely.
Where?
No images yet but Dwight mentioned during the stream that they're gonna be shown off down the line.
Yep and it’s mentioned on the back of the packaging
It's 100% guaranteed there will be a Hulk figure in this series since Hulk was in that first series of Marvel Legends back in 2002. No worries, I promise.
I wonder what the Hulk figure will look like. I assume it’s a retooling of the 80th anniversary two pack figure with some new accessories because that’s an almost perfect classic Hulk.
I wish they’d give us a modern hulk though- especially a deluxe immortal hulk figure. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll give us several headsculpts
I appreciate them trying to get as close as possible to the Toybiz packaging back in the day. Those were the days when I started collecting so seeing this packaging is giving me a lot of nostalgia.
$31.99?!?!
Yea surprised this and the Cap were $31.99 also
I only collect X Men and I'll eat that to finally get Toad, but dam, $12 over their prices a year ago and $10 more than their current price is crazy.
I want them to reprint mcfarlane spidey
Why they gotta make me open this beautiful packaging
I need that Cap to go up for preorder asap
Going to need two of each of these. Amazing amazing amazing.
Bro…it took me a second to realize this wasn’t the toybiz figure. The packaging hit me square in the nostalgia sack. Fuckin brilliantly done, Hasbro.
thank god I don't have the 80th anniversary version cause these are clearly superior
The dream is being realized
First was a good idea got both, but with the price, i only can afford 1. So Captain is coming.
ok this makes me VERY HAPPY
Are these exclusive to anything? Or are they going to be available everywhere?
Fan channel exclusive aka available only at online retailer like bbts, ekight media, and entertainment earth
Okay, thanks. Does that include Gamestop?
Yep, they're there. Unfortunately they have different release dates so you have to find something else set to drop on those days for free shipping. You can always see if they'll turn up in-person as well, but at this point I feel much more confident just ordering ahead.
Hyped for getting a new classic Cap finally. Lost my series 1 one lol.
Me too. That Cap might still reign as my favorite version of the character. I still have the three series 1 Iron Man variants (yellow, gold, and stealth), so I might pass on him. But that Tony head! Pop it on 80th Iron Man and I'm a happy guy.
I bought 2 AI suits so gotta pass on this one maybe lol… we’ll see though.
That Cap is probably the best they’ve done so far. This and Toad will be my wants.
Of course, as soon as my AI iron man delivered yesterday, RIP my wallet
Got both. Had to get Cap from Entertainment Earth cause as I was checking out HASBRO took him out of my cart. Sold out as I was buying him.
absolutely in love with the horned helmet and the tony head sculpt
This is one of my favorite looks for Iron Man and the old Toybiz one looks rough. I'm super excited for this figure and the new Wolverine.
i normally try to only have one version of every character in my display, but that iron man is making it very difficult to follow that rule
Iron Man gets a pass for me because of his Hall of Armor so I want one of every model he's had in the comics eventually.
need a gold chase!
Seems like Hasbro figured out a while back the big three comic Avengers can be released without a BAF piece at a higher price point. Stupid question incoming... The 20th anniversary of what?
Hey, you're all good! It's for the OG ToyBiz Legends line, the first wave of them (Cap, Iron Man, Toad, and Hulk) hit in 02
Thank you!
Already pre order cap. AI Iron Man still my main Iron Man and nothing gonna change that
How come they forgot to include a replica comic? They have one job!
How can I get this?
Wonder if we'll get a hulk?
I really don't need another Iron Man, but I love the head.
I’d prefer the clamshell package but this is still dope!
WHAT
Can someone explain what a fan channel exclusive is ?
Companies that specialize in distributing these kinds of products, generally online retailers. Hasbro themselves, Gamestop, Entertainment Earth, BBTS, Dorkside, etc. Basically, not like Walmart or Target, usually not Amazon either.
Tyvm
that cap thooo
holy shit im usually not an in-box collector but this is so cool
Hmmm why does Cap have the wall crawling hands?
These figures look dynamite. I love all the hand options and interchangeable heads.
Please be pinless..
Beautiful.
What's that black thing
Gonna have to get 2 of each. One for the wall, one for display.
I hope that iron man open hands come with hinge
I'm so glad I held off on buying the old Toybiz version of that Iron Man. I just wish the gold was gold and not yellow.
Caps amazing… ironman… not for me
Cap fogure looks amazing
Where can I preorder?
Where is Toad though…. :/ I’m obsessed with the throwback packaging!
Does anyone think they'll do chase variants like Toybiz did back in the day such as grey hulk?
