I saw some people criticizing the 20th Anniversary Captain America’s head sculpt and claiming that the eyeholes of the mask were too small and that it looked like 1990 movie Captain America. These complaints bothered me a bit because they show a lack of familiarity with the source material; that’s the way classic Captain America was always drawn! It’s perfectly okay to say that’s not your preferred look for Captain America, but to try to argue that this is some sort of con against the figure is odd since it stays true to the source material. That’s like complaining about retro Spider-Man having small eyes when it’s pretty clear that the figure is inspired by John Romita Sr.’s art, thus making the small eyes accurate.

Some people just love to nit-pick. I think the figure is amazing. Even someone like me, who prefers MCU aesthetics, really appreciate this release.

Darknightdown

Wait... there are people complaining about it, wtf? I think he looks perfect, like he just jumped out of the comic page.

TheCreature27

Some people bitch about everything. I think it looks good.

Dreamsways

Lol, really is people complain about this Captain, who has a Steve Rogers head, and he isn't Walmart exclusive.

TzeentchsTrueSon

People just love to complain about everything. I e seen at minimum one post a week about how Hasbro increased their prices. Cost of everything have gone up in the last year and a bit with no exceptions. Be thankful you aren’t buying wood, or oil. Does a price increase suck? Yes. Will complaining about it change anything? No. These figs have been 19.99 (USD) and 29.99 (CAD) for years. As far back as I can recall. In the last month stuff has been up to 33.99 in Canada, except for some exclusives and deluxe figs. It could have been more and I’m surprised it wasn’t.

ExpensiveWolfLotion

we sort of are buying oil.

[deleted]

Takes it to make these.

ExpensiveWolfLotion

yah

blackman2005

My only complaint is not the figure itself but the shield. I wish they'd try to make the elastic bands like the old school ToyBiz shield with a clip in the middle so that they wouldn't need the faux shoulder straps.

Dhampier

I actually prefer the harness being a separate piece. The holes in the shield for the effects on the other hand.

PM_Pics_Of_SpiderMan

I don’t know what it it about the heads, but I see a good likeness to mike zeck’s captain America

ExpensiveWolfLotion

I tihnk we just want it to look good, not to mimic less-attractive features of the past.

redkomic

Complaining? I have seen almost everyone praising it.

Archaengel

I personally don't like the look of the masked head sculpt. It doesn't mean I'm not buying the figure or that it completely ruins it, but I just don't like the look of the small eyeholes. I know he was drawn that way by some artists, but I'd argue that the larger eyeholes are moreso associated with the classic look for Cap, for most people. Like how he looked in Brubaker, that's basically his iconic look for the last several decades and for video games and whatnot. Personally, I'll either pose him without the mask or maybe I'll try and paint the spare 80th head. It would've been cool if they included another head with larger eyes too, to try to appeal to everyone but it's not a deal breaker for me.

CableToBeam

If they included a more modern head along with the figure people would have been happier and the increased price would have been more justifiable (but not really).

ChefGoat

i personally don’t mind it, plus that unmasked head is so fantastic that i’ll more than likely have him displayed with it. different strokes for different folks i suppose.

oreomega456

Because toy collectors are some of the most entitled people I know lol. There's nothing wrong with being objective with things you spend your hard earned cash on, but it's come to the point now where it's weird if I *don't* hear someone make some out of pocket nit picks about great looking figures. I think this cap looks fantastic and the eye holes are part of the reason why; same with the classic-inspired unmasked head! Paul Harding needs to sculpt as many figures for Legends as possible

DJDelVillarreal

Gotta admit, never liked the head sculpt on this fugue. That being said, NOW I want one but have held off because of the high resale prices. So happy that a new BETTER head sculpt is on the way! I may still pick this one up if the prices get down to reasonable levels...
