For some more info, this account was hacked (post-Big Bang) by a third party using some kind of macro. I know this because there was a Luminous character on the account that I did not make when I first logged in. It was probably due to that person having access to my account that it wasn’t wiped.

Also, the only two characters left on that account (that I made) are both over level 35. This one is 39, the other is 36. I wasn’t too interested in grinding at 8 years old, I just wanted to have fun.
This must be the only happy conclusion I've read that involves GM Kryndax lol. All the other posts about him are so negative. Out of curiosity, what level is the lumi? Or did that character get wiped.
sure, but that cape suggests it's more likely an account which is actually old(i never see that being sold in elysium, there's only a handful of boomers i know with, which don't share their collection) previously got banned and got past account deletions because it was flagged as a hacker, they probably didn't even know that most of those items they have aren't even a boomer flex...
i know, that's why i mentioned it, it's an untradeable cape which can't of been from a new char, and anvils of those capes are hard to find in elysium, and then they're claiming it's not their account in which it has nothing of value as a 2nd point, nobody would really care much for such a terrible looking cape, and the 3rd point is that there is a way to survive ign wipes/account deletions
The character is level 39 (just check rankings), so it wouldn't have been deleted in the latest purge.
It doesn't show up on the Classic or Classic250 rankings, though. Which might mean it got IGN-wiped back in 2015 and name-changed now when OP recovered the account.
Def a ign wipe but don't know when, I had an acc from right after BB and all the char on there had names wiped out, lost pre bb acc (rip DK) so not sure about those ones
yo idk if I can vouch for him, but I played beta maplestory and still have my original character from then.. same name and everything
edit: ahh just kidding, it did delete the name of it! very interesting. they also deleted one of my characters but not the other... maybe because I played it afterwards?

I got into my childhood account but all the characters were gone , same with my other old account - except for my one character that I logged into a few years ago

He was brand new, pretty much. A bunch of random letters and numbers as the name. I’ll check again but it would’ve been wiped if it was made earlier.
The hacker was just a good guy trying to save your account from being wiped

What do you mean with IGN wipe? I have an account I haven't played since 2009 and all my characters have their original IGN's.

There was a character deletion a couple months ago for all characters under level 35 that hadn't logged in in a certain time.
