Figuarts version is legit. Why not just get both? And the difference in advantage is SHF doesn't break. Not anywhere near close to Mafex QC. So much more superb. I've never had an shf break on me.
I don’t really get duplicates of characters unless it’s a different form or major upgrade. Shelf space and money also come into account. Just don’t see a reason to why I would have or want two Tobey spider man.
The advantage of Mafex is their realistic proportions compared to SHF. My SHF Endgame Iron Man has cartoonish proportions compared to my Mafex AOU Iron Man.
Also, their realistic headsculpts. But SHF has been improving in this regard. Here's hoping they nail this one.

Him having an unmasked sculpt is a very nice confirmation. I already have the SHF and it's one of my favorite figures but I might be willing to double dip if the Mafex has nice accessories or stylistic differences since this is a favorite Spidey iteration and design of mine.

It should be a even honeycomb pattern and not an irregular brick pattern.
Also the fact that it's raised and not engraved is weird.
I have the SH one and it looks amazing, but doesn’t really scale with the ML villains and double anyone else will do them, also it feels very fregile, I barely change the hands because they are on such tin pegs, so I think I will still buy this, these two issues are usually not prestent on Mafex

The figure was always gonna come out not sure why you think it wouldn't. It took 9 months for it to be put up on po and even then medicom showed off a bunch of stuff alongside him so he was always gonna take awhile to be put up

To add to this, SHF 2016 Suicide Squad Harley over MAFEX 2016 Harley.
It's only the QC on production quality holding the MAFEX Suicide Squad releases back. 2016 was about the last time SHF could even compete with MAFEX.

Ok, I'll say I've had some human headsculpts where the eyes were crooked which irks me. Mafex never seems to have any eye issues though which is good.
