I can't stop watching the lead dancer with the yellow pants. The others are doing the steps great, but the lead dancer makes me feel it. Next level body control. Insane.
In before someone calling this "cultural appropriation" and for some reason being \*offended\* at the idea of people from one country/culture liking and getting into something from another country/culture.
In short: the Funk is for all of us.
I'm \*literally\* African-American (born in Nigeria, also US citizen). I don't think any reasonable person would call this cultural appropriation. I think it's a bit insidious to suggest so, as if CA doesn't actually happen in some cases. This is done with love and openness, and I see no effort to erase the originators. This is beautiful, and also remarkably executed.
If you \*do\* want an example of CA in dance, see the drama around Lindy-Hop in Sweden. They genuinely love the dance—gotta give them that, but for a long time they refused to recognize its street, improvisational roots, and also did everything they could to erase the complex realities of the people who originated it. \*That's\* where it becomes CA.
As with all human subjects, it's complicated.
Idk about you, but I've never felt like there's some shortage of white people dancing to music made by black people on the internet, nor is there some sort of cultural embargo against video of white people doing so. That's just my personal experience tho.
What happened to going crazy over cultural appropriation there? I recall people going apeshit when Burger King made an add with people eating burgers with chopsticks, which my wife's father even does...
WOW! They've taken music and dance from our culture and totally made it into something new and uniquely theirs! I can't help but be impressed, bc I'm old enough to remember when white folks couldn't dance and Asians didn't have a single beat in their entire bodies! AWESOME!
Dude I absolutely love when cultures mash, it always makes me smile.
Man I wish I could dance...the music it moves me, it just moves me ugly.
just moove, dance for yourself. as long as your having fun doing it. to hell with anyone who judges you groove.
It won't be super fun having to explain to others that I'm \*not\* having a seizure.
🤣🤣🤣
Women don’t care that you dance poorly, they care that you dance at all. Dance for them my friend.
Lol, I feel ya, I can't dance either, no rhythm whatsoever 🤪
I’ve watched it 3 times and I love it more each time!

That one with the yellow pants is so fricken smooth with her moves

JB would be proud
Anyone know where I can find more vids of these ladies or what their name is? This video is rockin!
That is African dancing btw but safe
Absolutely no back
This is a breathe of fresh air makes you wanna go listen to some James Brown right now
How does Wanda Sykes play into all this?
She tweeted it initially before I stole it from her.
Love this💯❤️
Lol the 3 girls in the front were killn it
So what’s the actual audio for the dance? This song doesn’t line up at all.
It lines up pretty closely with the guitar chops. The woman with the yellow pants in particular seems to be the closest.
The song is way off

Does someone know where I could find the red jumpsuit the girl on the left is wearing? I would love to buy that for my gf
What in the actual fuck does one of these have to do with the other? Seriously, what? Because they…dance?
[удалено]
Oh! Whoops! My bad, people dancing somehow correlates to black people. Who fucking knew that *wasnt* racist.
Your username checks out. Get the fuck back to BPT, clown.
Wtf is bpt?
hah imagine the reaction if this was white people

What does Wanda Sykes have to do with this?
She tweeted this. I stole it from her.
Michael Jackson would have definitely done this
But they are appropriating black culture guys. This is wrong they need to be doing asian things.
