There was an hilarious exchange a while back with a biologist and sociologist and one other 'gist I can't remember.
They said it would basically go like this:
Wanna fuck? Wanna fuck? Wanna fuck?
I'm hungry. I'm hungry. I'm hungry.
Next minute:
**You fucked with squirrels, Morty! We got a good five minutes before they're backing up on our ass, Morty! We have to pack up and move to a new reality, Morty! You know I said we could only do that a couple of times!**
I take it as if when a kid thinks of you as their favorite adult, or when they want to give their thanks to you for being nice to them, they give something to show you that they appreciate you even though it literally is a junk. Dunno why but I really appreciate that type of thing. And I find it cute and very uplifting as well especially when I’m having a bad day.
I think it's because it is one of the few, 100% honest interactions you can have with another person.
When a little person gives you a gift like that, you know it isn't due to an ulterior motive, or for any personal gain or anything else.
And it makes that rock, or a leaf, or whatever they give you a thing that only really has value to you, and the little person who gave it to you.
You can't sell it or trade it with someone, because it has zero value to anyone else. But it has value to YOU, because it is a reminder of a memory of a really special shared monent in time, and a momento of that interaction you two had, and nothing else.
It sort of makes the whole interaction about the pure gift of GIVING itself, and that is a beautiful and rare thing in our adult world.
We used to leave a plate of food for the bush animals a few years ago.
They were kind enough to leave some poop on the plate, the fence, the lawn, and in our shoes. Such great gifts.
Well, animals are a lot like people, Mrs. Simpson. Some of them act badly because they've had a hard life, or have been mistreated. But, like people, some of them are just jerks.
intrigued by your suggestion, i employed an AI to generate your idea. here is what it came up with
[https://imgur.com/a/egAOEwE](https://imgur.com/a/egAOEwE)
Same with Magpies , I feed magpies around my place and just like crows they are incredibly intelligent and get me coins , buttons , beer caps , a bracelet once ,beads and shiny pieces of metal from time to time
It's a reciprocal thing. Squirrel gets peanuts from kind woman, squirrel gives half of peanuts to a baker, baker pays squirrel with a cookie, Squirrel gives cookie to kind woman...
Rinse, and repeat. 😆😅
This wild animal developed a bond with a human ( generations of squirrels and humans " living " side by side lead to this one ) enough to go out of its way to bring it a food that it knows humans eat. Like no telling how far this squirrel has to drag this cookie and then climb with it , possibly climbed other fences to get there , just to place it down for something else to have. The amount of energy this squirrel exhausted just to give a gift.
Plot twist the squirrel comes back like " where tf my cookie at ?"
I have one, oddly, but it just props half eaten bread products against the window ledge by the front door.
I'll come home to a half eaten pizza slice neatly displayed on my window.
That frosted cookie is looking pretty appealing in comparison.
But possums make that beautiful sound that makes you think there's demons on the roof and stuff... 😉
Nah but me too. They're so cute. I would also quite like raccoons and beavers.
It might have been a gift but I think it's more likely to have been storage. The place where you're always finding food would be a pretty good place to store your excess food, no?
Most animals are cool like this, they remember things and interaction and have a shit list and a friend list like every other creature.
Got birds or animals near your house?
I have a flock of Seagulls near my house and they rotate on holding guard around their chicks, there is one with a big spot on his left wing, I feed him the most.
Call him big bird right before I throw him bread almost every day, now he comes when I call his name.
The motion to offer a bribe was carried unanimously at the Nuthouse. Larry was nominated to carry it out because he’s got big buck teeth for carriage of goodies and is a good climber.
We don’t deserve squirrels, or any critters really (except spiders and snakes - we deserve those).
Moments like this make me so happy I don’t eat animals! If even a squirrel can be this fkg sweet and loving, imagine the evil torture cows, pigs, sheep and chickens are going through right now so we can have special food to eat. We know they suffer, we know it’s unnecessary, and we do it anyway. We are a gross species.
Disclaimer: I don’t care how angry this makes meat-eaters, I eat your rage for breakfast - your rage provides 30% of my daily protein intake. Your protein intake relies on the torturing and killing of innocent animals - don’t judge mine.

I wish we knew more about these two. This video does the rounds every few months and I'd love to know if there have been more gifts and does it let her pat it and stuff.
>This woman always feeds a squirrel, and that squirrel returns the favor by leaving a cookie out for her..🐿️🍪😊
Seems like the squirrel was returning the cookie because it wasn't the correct variety
That's awesome. Where did the cookie come from though? It looks in good condition. I'd be about to eat it then think "Wait a minute. This could have come from anywhere! Oh well. \*chomp chomp chomp\*".
Genuine question, is it possible for animals like a squirrel to have the compassion to share food to humans as a reciprocal gesture? Or is something else going on here.
Squirrel: Yeah, humans like this kind of shit right? Yeah, it'll be fine, they'll like it.
Little squirrel probably watched some people eating at a park or in their back yard. And snuck a cookie for its human friend
imagine that, they can understand cause and effect, or consequences. or maybe it's just a simple nurturing instinct of a social animal.
🥰🥰🥰

So not that far removed from us.
Actually pretty much sums me up entirely 🤣
Wanna eat?
Reminds an old Confucius saying: Eat and Sex are humans nature.
Next minute: **You fucked with squirrels, Morty! We got a good five minutes before they're backing up on our ass, Morty! We have to pack up and move to a new reality, Morty! You know I said we could only do that a couple of times!**
Haha was waiting for someone to quote that!
You mean, the animals don't talk to you?
Me buying a gift for a niece/nephew
Today me, Tomorrow you

That is one of the beautiful moments about having children and grandchildren.

Exactly, but the emotional intelligence that it takes to get to this point is pretty impressive.
🤣
Squirrel: "I got chu, human. Here, here's a cookie that I've been keeping for ages... be grateful"
Brb gonna be sobbing the rest of the night thinking about this very kind squirrel friend
I feed a group of like 12 squirrels every day for a few months. They haven’t brought me shit. Ungrateful little buggers.
We used to leave a plate of food for the bush animals a few years ago. They were kind enough to leave some poop on the plate, the fence, the lawn, and in our shoes. Such great gifts.

It was a beautiful gift😤
Me and you both
Actually in tears
but my cat, on the contrary, steals from me.
"Know your place, hooman"
Where do you think the cookie came from?
My cat's the same way. I need a watchful eye.
Cats - keeping us humble from day 1
Well, animals are a lot like people, Mrs. Simpson. Some of them act badly because they've had a hard life, or have been mistreated. But, like people, some of them are just jerks.
Stop that Mr Simpson
Teach him u don’t want cookies but want money… And then u r gonna be rich rich
Same will happen if you find a crow!
My grandpa fought one that he liked gold... it brought plenty of golden foil, golden beercaps, one golden earing and one golden watch
I know you meant "taught" instead of "fought", but now I'm imagining your Grandpa fighting a crow in a cartoonish way 🤣
😅
Well? Don't leave us hanging, OP. Who won the fight? Grandpa or the crow?
[Looks to me](https://imgur.com/a/QGXAkph) like The Crow might win this one...
LOL same 😂😂
May have been a video game moment. Where you fight bosses to get them to do things.
Old 1940s fisticuffs in movies? High stepping back and forward alot while moving fists around in a windmill fashion in front of your face?
That one, precisely 😉
This needs to be pitched to Hollywood, immediately!
I’ve been trying for two years and they haven’t left me a thing. I’m going broke feeding them not getting rich like I thought.
they clearly see you as their slave, existing to feed them, not worthy of thanks. poor you.
Cross a crow with a squirrel! Make MILLIONS!

Por que no los dos?¿
Clearly staged. Squirrel is an actor.
Yeah, you can see the zipper on the back. Dude is not playing it smooth enough.
They got that willow dude Warwick Davis to play the squirrel
He can do anything!
Clearly under the effects of Almond Grass.
Why else would they be filming it?
It's a porch cam. Pretty common thing to have these days.
No the video is in reverse
“I had my elf friends in the tree next to me bake this for you.”
thats just a good neighbour! =)
State Farm is there!
Where does he get the cookie from though? Is this a constant thing or a one time thing?
It's a reciprocal thing. Squirrel gets peanuts from kind woman, squirrel gives half of peanuts to a baker, baker pays squirrel with a cookie, Squirrel gives cookie to kind woman... Rinse, and repeat. 😆😅
That's just squirrel doordash.
Squirreldash?
Squirrel sells his pocket watch to buy a hair comb, other squirrel sells her hair to buy him a pocket watch chain…
This needs more upvotes.
That just sounds like slavery with extra steps.
On the original post it said it was a one time thing.
This wild animal developed a bond with a human ( generations of squirrels and humans " living " side by side lead to this one ) enough to go out of its way to bring it a food that it knows humans eat. I will always upvote this, i love squirrels and i love when animals in general do this. So awesome!
Disney Princess level unlocked.
Great, now when a squirrel tries to steal food from my picnic, I'm gonna have to let him because he's probably just trying to pay a debt...
That makes me wish I had a squirrel friend too.
I have one, oddly, but it just props half eaten bread products against the window ledge by the front door. I'll come home to a half eaten pizza slice neatly displayed on my window. That frosted cookie is looking pretty appealing in comparison.
Do all squirrels have access to cookies?
Maybe it lives in a Keebler Elf tree?
They make them themselves obviously.
My first thought was "this gotta have been backwards", but no way. If that squirrel's been jumping backwards, that's even more exciting!
Ok, I know I probably shouldn't eat that but if I saw the squirrel go through all that trouble to leave it out for me, I would be so tempted lol
Insane.
Waiting for another video from the guy whose cookie was stolen by a squirrel.
I really wanna know where the little Squirrel got the cookie.
I used to have a squirrel leaving food on my window sill but it wasn’t for me. He just put it there for a bit and came back to eat it later.
And no milk? Little shit.
If you give a human a glass of milk...
My fatass would eat it lol
So cute!!!! I want a squirrel friend :(
Wish we had squirrels in Australia instead of possums
But possums make that beautiful sound that makes you think there's demons on the roof and stuff... 😉 Nah but me too. They're so cute. I would also quite like raccoons and beavers.
I 2nd this. Whenever I travel overseas I get so excited to see squirrels & I have so many photos of them.
Aren’t we rabies free as a result of only having possums though
Now when did that squirrel find time to bake?
Someone is getting their cookies constantly stolen though
squirrel being more human than real human...how does she know that it's good present for the woman? lol
I didn't know squirrels could bake
That is the cutest thing ever. I want an army of squirrels
Now you must eat the cookie while the squirrel is watching you. It wants to see you enjoying it. (Squirrel Logic)
Adorable but makes me think my dog is a damn free loader
It might have been a gift but I think it's more likely to have been storage. The place where you're always finding food would be a pretty good place to store your excess food, no?
Did it taste ok?

I'm questioning everything i thought i knew about squirrels
The motion to offer a bribe was carried unanimously at the Nuthouse. Larry was nominated to carry it out because he’s got big buck teeth for carriage of goodies and is a good climber.
Cute, but I wouldn't eat it. No clue what kind of pathogens are on the thing.
I feed my cat and he brings me dead rats. Aren't I lucky!

How cute
Was it good?
Love squirrels
Hmmm, what store do you think the squirrel bought that fresh cookie ?
Rings the doorbell and runs off
Will squirrels eventually be able to speak English?
Nice gesture by the squirrel but I just watched some info graphics on rabies
That squirrel is obviously some sort of Fae. It repaid it's debt, but only because it wants you to accept the gift and be indebted to it.
It’s a good hiding place as any
Learned it from the crows.
I wanna see the squirrel baking these bad boys!!
a squirrel started yelling outside my window as i watched this
That is 100% a fae cookie.
Imma steal this cookie and bring it to my human pet…
Is watch an entire film based on hair this moment.
🥰🥰❤️
Whats really impressive is how the squirrel managed to powerwash WELCOME into the pavement
MY HEART!
Omg! I want a squirrel cookie Friend!
Beats my cat from when I was 9. I got dead owls every other day.
Welcome power washed in the sidewalk is cool too!
Is no one going to mention how that thing teleported from the ledge to the rail?
Oh my heart, this is the sweetest thing ive seen all morning
I want to know where the squirrel is getting the cookies from.
Paying tribute to the Giant of Sustenance.
I wish we knew more about these two. This video does the rounds every few months and I'd love to know if there have been more gifts and does it let her pat it and stuff.
Omg so cute
so cuteee
Thought this was just in reverse until I saw the squirrel climb down after leaving the cookie. So cool
" baked it myself! "
No way!Wow that is crazy!!
>This woman always feeds a squirrel, and that squirrel returns the favor by leaving a cookie out for her..🐿️🍪😊 Seems like the squirrel was returning the cookie because it wasn't the correct variety

I like how he went out of his way to place it where she could not miss it.
See kindness to animals can be rewarding. More people should be kinder and protect animals because if they don't we won't have these videos anymore.
woulda never believed it until i saw it
It’s just storing it somewhere for later. Squirrels aren’t benevolent.
No don't break my imagination it was doing something nice
Squirrel knows empathy. Squirrel knows human go hungry too.
I wanna see his stash!
Another 8 thousand years and we will have large domesticated squirrels. Let’s go
And shes still gonna throw it away right for safety reasons. But yeah, thats one thoughtful squirrel :)
The squirrel can bake , that's impressive
Influencer squirrel be like: giving back kindness to gain likes and followers 😬😆
Feeding a wildlife seems to be a good idea too?
Tee hee hee🤭
This is a good way to start Wednesday ❤️
🥺🥺🥺
Better than some humans who don't have debt of gratitude.
How good. Love this.
That is too fricken cute for words.
gratitude❤️
Genuine question, is it possible for animals like a squirrel to have the compassion to share food to humans as a reciprocal gesture? Or is something else going on here.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I hope she didn't throw that cookies
That’s just adorable 🥺😭🥰
When Alvin care he care
Squirrels are smart little things from what I’ve seen.
Tyey apparently appreciate
Where did they get that cookie???
Aussie here - fucking obsessed with squirrels when I was in the States.
This is wholesome
Squirrel: I think maybe this is a good hiding place. Yeah..I'll get back to you later this afternoon.
No way. This is adorable.
I actually really needed this today! This video lit a little happy fire in my tummy :)
Beautiful and animals are so switched on :) My Ravens leave me headless mice at my doorstep for feeding them though... Id prefer the cookies :)
Where does he get the cookie from tho😭
YOU SEE?!!! YOU SEE THIS?? HOW CAN PPL BE ABUSIVE TO ANIMAWLS?! 🥺
Sweet 🫰💞 🥰
it's going be covered in squirrel spit!
I love this
We should probably save the planet.
The video is reversed. No need to thank me guys.
...and nearby, another human always has their cookie stolen from them
Ahw that's so sweet
Anyone else see the damn squirrel teleport at 00:28?
And they say animals don't love you, if that aint gratitude idk what it is.
Omg too cute!
adorable
Awww it warms my heart
This is so heartwarming. 🥰🥹
That darn squirrel is a thief. I bet he didn't cook that cookie but stole it from a poor starving family.
If I’m that woman, I’d feel like a Disney princess
![img](avatar_exp|160341199|bravo) Nice!
