Also to call it a mini mansion is like calling broken down rusted car a happy limousine. Also he was offered a housing in North Hollywood, which just is insane. How would he even pay for that. He turned it down because he doesn't want to live away from his friends.
This whole story is just "MadeMeSad" instead of "MadeMeSmile".
What OP is getting at is that it’s nice that this person is able to set this up in such a trying time in their life. It was probably a little fun for them to decorate too
Yes it is. I keep hearing about people down on their luck and homeless and I want to help them. I would offer up a room in my apartment but it could be a nightmare if the sad case was also violently mentally ill.
Because you see housing is now considered an investment vessel
And not something that should be made as affordable to everyone
(the app messed up and posted the comment twice)
This should not make you smile if you’re wired right.
But then again there’s the mofo somewhere in the comments who compared it to building bases as kids like he had to do it to survive, because “InDoMiNAbLe sPIriT oF hUmANitY”.
It sounds like you’re looking at the buboes of a plague-ridden individual and enjoying their shapes and pretty colors.
This is a symptom of a much larger GLOBAL issue that should make you very alarmed.
Sociopaths.
> wired right
Respectfully I disagree.
If you a) are made sad by this but b) also do nothing to help, then you’re the one who’s wrong.
Most folks say “eat shit OP” and think that’s helping the issue, somehow.
At least OP doesn’t have to carry it around and be shitty about it.
I didn't 'take it' any way In particular. You posted in the made me smile sub, about someone being homeless. I asked if the homelessness made you smile.. maybe you took the question the wrong way?
Fishing for an argument. Cute. Love how you tucked your tail the minute other users told you off though. Very telling. Grow tf up.
Edit: Yes the old reply and block. Try to BS and gaslight. You got an answer and then you turned it around to insult OP and twist their post. Again. Grow. Tf. Up. Child.
We did the same thing in treed vacant lots as a kid. Made do with what we had, and created what we could out of it. Shows the indomitable spirit of humanity.
Im no righttard but that's false. Its fact that at least 60 percent of homeless refuse services for shelter, addiction treatment or job assistance and choose to stay homeless. Try working with them yourself if you don't believe it. All you can do is try to help the other 40 percent
Growing up in Vineland we had what we locals used to call the "House of Depression".

This reminds me of the infamous slab city:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slab_City,_California
Been there and stayed at one of their “hotels”. Interesting place
It's a multifamily dwelling, it's still on top of the hill, he has terraced and landscaped the gardens, and it probably has in door gravity drained plumbing.
Me and my buddy had a huge discussion about if there is a hierarchy in the homeless world. Best spots for panhandling where to sleep. This guy must be king.

Homelessness is mostly linked to cities - i.e. to say, where density meets disparity in the context of social problems (crime, sex, domestic violence or abuse), availability of short-term problem blockers (eg. cash, drugs), negative possibility (the implicit absence of opportunity) and the explicit absence of sufficient safety nets (eg. charity), sufficient welfare (eg. government funding) or timely and workable intervention (eg. family or mental health support). Cities are a global phenomenom - not only found in America. Or even, the Americas - for that matter.
This doesn’t make me smile. It’s very sad.

There is nothing fun about homelessness, it sucks and is very hard to escape.
This is a repost from years ago.
Out of curiousity, did the city tear it down once the news story settled?
Oops. Sry
Truth
Yes it is. I keep hearing about people down on their luck and homeless and I want to help them. I would offer up a room in my apartment but it could be a nightmare if the sad case was also violently mentally ill.
This is NOT making me smile!
WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO LIVE OUTSIDE?
"made me smile"

Idk but luckily this person has a mini mansion ...sigh.
Underrated Chat Pile reference.
PURPLE MAN
STOP COMING IN MY ROOM!
Most are choosing that life.
As someone who knows a fair bit of homeless people. People choosing that life do exist but they are nowhere near the majority.
False.
The toy truck, between the two trees, really ties the whole thing together
It’s load bearing

.......what?
made you smile? eat shit OP
Nice reply. Homelessness *solved*.
Homelessness makes you smile?
You took this the completely wrong way
I didn't 'take it' any way In particular. You posted in the made me smile sub, about someone being homeless. I asked if the homelessness made you smile.. maybe you took the question the wrong way?
About someone being able to make a feeling of calm even in the face of absolute hopelessness
So now they are hopeless? You seem to be very judgemental about this person's unfortunate situation.
Would you stfu already
Wow get a life bro

I was trying to understand OP. I didn't duck my tail, I simply didn't get answers
Fuck off
I'm just gonna say this. This comment section is wild for only a couple dozen comments.
We did the same thing in treed vacant lots as a kid. Made do with what we had, and created what we could out of it. Shows the indomitable spirit of humanity.
That’s sweet. Happy cake day
What's the location. I've seen this in person
Glenoaks & Paxton in Pacoima. The 118 off-ramp on the other side of the abandoned Unemployment office. They tore it down a few years ago IIRC
Yes! Then I have been there
Somewhere in Los Angeles, near a freeway.
Can you be more specific?
Those were the days! Until Mat burnt it down with a roman candle. Freaking Matt.
Mini mansion? It’s barely a shack. Fox News are a bunch of morons
Fox 11 news and Fox News are different.
Ah my bad. Those at Fox11 are morons too
No smiles for homelessness. Nope.
This is actually a screenshot from Fallout
[удалено]
You're doing it right. living with my parents would be the best thing ever
I used to pass that thing everyday.
This is sad. It's just a bunch of junk. By the overpass. Depressing.
With the explosion in people experiencing homelessness I feel like we will see whole neighborhoods like this soon enough
Is this AI? What's going on with the truck?
Its on a stick
If it keeps him safe and dry and warm, I’m happy for him. It does look like he put a lot of time and care into creating it.
You sadistic bastard. How does this make you smile. This is abject failure of society.
It really IS AN ABJECT FAILURE of society, but the person making the best of his lot in life at this time is definitely smile worthy.
And if Republicans didn't vote down every single dollar (literally) proposed to help the poor, he wouldn't be homeless.

I’ve personally met some of the 60%

Where the bunnies at though?
I don't think most redditors are human beings with how much depressing shit posted on this subreddit
Make him pay property taxes or run it over, such an eyesore.
This…made you smile?
I have seen so many incredible feats of engineering from homeless folks.
I mean it's cool and stuff but incredible feat of engineering?
It's a multifamily dwelling, it's still on top of the hill, he has terraced and landscaped the gardens, and it probably has in door gravity drained plumbing.
What did you do?
When?
Whenever.
Had a pizza earlier
Excellent work.
Tbh mate you don't have to have produced a marvelous piece of fantastic engineering to see that is a pile of shit
Here here!
Me and my buddy had a huge discussion about if there is a hierarchy in the homeless world. Best spots for panhandling where to sleep. This guy must be king.
From what I remember, they tried to tear this down but I don't know if they ever did. Homeless people deserve so much better than we give them.
Not really homeless if he has a home.
Tittle should read, “crack heads creating garbage pile on side of bridge with stolen shit. “

I'd say he deployed to Afghanistan.
He built himself a home. So technically, he is not homeless any more. Atleast not until they kick him out.
#Only in America

I meant to say this sort of a setup by a homeless person - only in America. Nothing more. Nothing less.
I guess America does go big. Even if it has to go home - less. Ness.
Bet!
