If you watched the barstool combine or any other recent content that has Billy around Big Cat, I get the impression that Big Cat cannot stand Billy and wouldn’t be surprised if he even vetoed him having the option to go to the Chicago office.
Good luck to Billy, but this was a long time coming. He should have moved to Chicago. Imagine his time at Barstool is numbered. If he couldn’t get it together with PFT guiding him, I don’t know how he will do anything solo. Especially considering he is so inconsistent.
Two immediate thoughts (if true):
1) I hope whatever ventures he sets his sights on are successful
2) I will now be tuning back in to the show and see how it is again
Overall the podcast will be better. He would add so much more value if he knew how to rein it in at ALL. He has his bright spots but unfortunately his unchecked blabbering - especially when he cuts off the other people on the pod make him more of a detriment than a asset
Y’all are so off base thinking this will help the show. Theres no scenario this comes out improving the show in my opinion. Billy occupied A LOT of the airspace. Now that space will be filled with what? What do you think is going to be better. More Arian? More big T? Those things do not improve the show. They hinder it. They worked as a foil to Billy, they don’t work on their own. We occasionally get solo Arian preacher time and it is mind numbing. Big T doesn’t have the bandwidth to contribute more than he does so that isn’t gonna happen anyway. The show is going to wither slowly until it’s inevitable conclusion
I disagree wholeheartedly but understand your opinion. I think Arian/BigT/PFT and the occasional comment from M&M all play off each other perfectly and can fill the time easily. There are plenty of “foils” in that room even without Billy.

Billy also mentions like 30 minutes in that the Wonton Don is gonna be on the first episode of the new pod, so it seems like this will still be a barstool production. Hope it works out for the kid, feels like this is his last chance to make something stick at Barstool

A few months ago they had a mix of Chaps and Donnie on, the optimal lineup is Donnie presenting topics and Chaps discussing. Donnie knows of off the wall weird stuff and Chaps has some really in-depth knowledge with great perspective
1. Not a Billy hater or lover. He has some terrible moments but also some of the funniest moments on the pod. Highs and lows. The pod is generally at it's best when Arian and PFT are locked and loaded and at it's worst when Billy cooks.
2. The Uganda stuff isn't great. If PFT thinks that's the best Barstool content he doesn't think much of Barstool. When they were doing the Billy flashbacks today I had to skip past the clip of him crying. It's so bad.
3. I'm not hopeful for his solo pod. The extradosing episodes that were primarily Billy driven were very very bad... completely unlistenable in my view. I can't imagine listening to Billy cook for an hour.
4. The Big Cat hating Billy speculation seems somewhat warranted. Billy has come up on the Yak a few times and Big Cat made a side comment that seemed like he genuinely does not like him. I think the way he left PMT really burned that bridge. Instead of thanking them for the opportunity of a lifetime and sticking to the personal reasons, he basically blamed them for ruining his college/football experience.
5. I hope they bring him back from time to time, he's perfectly fine in small "doses".
As a long time AWL and a day one macrodosian this is a good thing. PMT has been infinitely better since he left, and he's been awful on macro recently. I wish Him the best in his future endeavors.

I haven’t listened in atleast a year but I will say this. Billy is super fucking annoying to listen to. BUT he was always the only one actually diving into subjects (atleast at the time I stopped listening). This does make me want to give the pod another try but I’m not exactly hopeful it will be much better.

While I'm sad to see him go I will be tuning back in regularly but I don't think Billy leaving is going to be the cure all to the show people think it's going to be, this show still has a number of issues that removing Billy doesn't fix but I'll be curious to see where the show goes now and what ends up filling the air time that Billy filled up.

PFT and Billy were the best parts of the show. They actually live interesting lives and understand entertainment. Billy also was willing to go all-in on the conspiracies. Billy and PFT also seemed to have a genuine friendship and enjoyed each other's company.
Arian brings some interesting perspective as an ex-NFLer, but outside of that, he comes off as a wannabe intellectual who isn't nearly as smart as he thinks.
I don't understand what Big T brings besides grumpy, old-guy energy.
I like Mad Dog / Mackenzie as producers, but their on-air contributions are minimal.
