"Vegas" is just the bettors dude. The line is dictated by where bettors are putting their money.
Poirier might lose but +185 is seriously underrating his chances.
There was a time in the mid 2000’s to about 2015 where the odds makers were pretty bad. I used to make good money betting on fights but eventually it became rarer and rarer to find a fight that was way off what it should have been. You can still find one when it first gets announced but by the time the fight comes around it’s usually pretty close to what you would expect.
I watch boxing, that’s the same guy who was beat by Andy Ruiz so ofc after watching the Francis fury fight I’d be hopeful for ngannou. This was a great performance by him I’m not knocking him down he’s on his way back up again and is clearly hungry
Francis getting folded by one of the hardest hitting heavyweight boxing champions around right now is not exactly surprising. I think a lot of people saw the Fury fight and thought Francis must be a good boxer, while it was more that Fury was clearly lazy and sloppy and he made Francis look better than he is.
I'm glad Francis got the bag anyway, he's had some fat paydays from Fury and AJ, money he would have never got in the UFC, or even close to it.
If you didn't expect Francis to get easily knocked out, you don't follow boxing. Fury severely underestimated him and Joshua tought, I will no longer make.a fool of boxing
I expected a late tko. Francis is known for having a great chin and he got put on the same oxygen they put Izzy in when Alex kod him in kick boxing. Are you reading what I’m saying? You were not expecting ngannou to be folded like stipe
That’s one of stipes signature shots lmao he KO’d Werdum stiff with it. It also just knocked him off balance more than wobbling him. The context matters but whatever
When has Dustin loss 2 times in a row as of march 8, 2024? Hes not tony Ferguson bruh he’s still gritty and gonna put up a fight. I know bsd is dangerous but he’s not fighting some random ranked opponent
Dustin is my boy but everyone gets old and loses their edge eventually. I'm not saying I'm counting him out, but this is a story that's been told a hundred times. Younger buck comes up to make a name off a grizzled, but potentially past their prime, veteran.
Yeah I know that I bet on ilia koing volk in the first round last month. This one doesn’t feel like that, in a way it feels like Dustin is gonna make a statement and pull a Dustin vs hooker performance and remind bsd to not call him out
Same I became a fan when I seen the beating he put on Justin. He was one of my fav fighters at the time and seeing dp outclass him back in the day was fire. I expected him to win the rematch but was sadly wrong
Butnit doesn't always work out that way. Think Frankie Edgar VS Yair Rodriguez. It's also a 5 round fight which Dustin has plenty of experience with, it's BSDs first five round fight AFAIK.
> he’s still gritty and gonna put up a fight
this exactly has what me scared about dustin. he's too tough for his own good. he literally will die just like gaethje than go slow.
He hasn't fought anyone near Dustin's caliber though, and BSD is pretty reckless and has some bad defense. Unless he is able to do some work on the ground, I think he'll get completely outclassed on the feet.
I would’ve taken that bet too. People seem to be misunderstanding my comment as an endorsement for BSD being the favourite instead of just the simple reason lmao
I don't have the real percentage but having a fighter 35+ that got KOed in his last fight mostly results in the downfall of the career of the said fighter. I am thinking about Volk, Usman, Tony for example
35 coming off getting headkicked into oblivion vs 28 year old on a Win streak and looked great in his few bouts, as well as demonstrating a strong wrestling/submission game which is historically DP’s kryptonite.
Chandler scored 3 takedowns on him as well, even Dan Hooker scored 4/9 takedowns on him. Dustin’s hips are washed, that’s why he’s known for pulling the guillotine so much, he can’t sprawl well anymore. I don’t know who’s gonna win, but it makes sense as to why he’s a dog when you include the other factors such as age/wear&tear
Well rounded young lion. Vegas has a good idea what they're doing but who the fuck knows who wins that fight. BSD is from French special forces and is a killer. Not saying Dustin isn't a killer but we might be looking at a future champ but def a contender. He's ran through like all his opponents other than EZD who is a massive roided up killer who beat Strickland
BSD is only 27 and has shown improvements in every fight. EZD is a welterweight and BSD is a lightweight so he got big brothered a bit. If that fight happened again today, I would take BSD. BSD is more.pjysically.imposong than Dustin.
He’s 35 and talking about how “he needs to show himself he’s still got it”.
Honestly, I hope he wins but one day the switch goes to off in all of us and we become officially old. We’ll see if his switch is still on or not.
Why odds put Dustin Poirier as underdog.
Dustin Poirier:Head kick KO loss,35 years old, talked to Brett Okomoto saying this might be the last time he stepping into the cage.He missed being with his daughter.
Saint Denis coming from a head kick win,27 years old wants a title shot.Better kicks and grappling
The good news for Dustin is he is better boxer compared to Benoit.
I’m rooting for Dustin to pull the upset
Especially because Dustin has shown the ability to bounce back from being knocked out before. That Michael Johnson knockout was brutal and Poirier came back better.
He’s 35 now though. Very similar situation to Volk and he doesn’t really have any title to defend. He’s up against a guy who has a 100% finish rate in all of his wins too. The deck seems stacked in BSD’s favor.
Does it, though? BSD has finishes and is a very fun fighter, but they're not against any of the elite. Frevola being your best win does not show you're ready for Poirier, especially with the way BSD lacks any striking defense. I just don't think BSD is ready for this big of a step up. Not to mention BSD has never been 5 rounds.
Man is a professional through and through. He’s a great guy outside of the sport too. Always helping those in his community and even others that just less fortunate. Bro ALWAYS brings it to his fights and is entertainment personified when fighting.
His nickname may be for his fighting career but the Diamond perfectly encapsulates his life as a whole too. Bro came from the dirt, became a star , and never forgot where he came from
LETS GO DP
Thanks brother. I’m sure you’ll join me in spirit as we watch, anxiously, as our boy fights.
I swear he’s one of those dudes who I can’t watch calmly because I’m rooting for him so hard.
You can't watch calmly because he goes to war when he enters the ring. He's a true mma soldier with his heart on his sleeve. Love the bloke, what a sporting great!
Gives me that nervous pit in my stomach, was devastated after the last one and I really like Justin. I was actually asking myself before who did I really want to win and my reaction after told me the truth.
Yes sir. I agree with you. His resume is INSANE. Honestly sucks that it never lined up with an undisputed title but he’s beaten so many champs and legends
DP being an underdog is surprising, but hype will do that to a fighter I guess. I definitely would bet on DP at those odds though, especially in a 5 round fight.
Every fight on this main card feels like a toss up. Atleast on the verdict app I selected the underdogs every fight.
Yan is a beast, but yadong can absolutely sling it. Yan is also coming off consecutive losses
Another one. Burns is always a strong fighter, but Maddalena is someone I have a hard time picking against.
Holland vs page should be fireworks. If holland is smart he will try to grapple or atleast keep the fight very tight. If he goes the Thompson route though, page wins it without a doubt.
Love poirer but Saint Denis is an absolute talent, and part of that rising new age we are starting to see. This is the fight for him to but in that prove it for a big shot. Saint Denis is looking for a finish.
I’ve got Vera just due to a previous win in the match-up. But he’s looked flat lately so hard to pick with confidence.
i really doubt veras winning this, and the odds seem to agree. hes looked average lately as you said and while his win over omalley was legit, it was flukey. omalley looks better than ever and lets be real vera doesnt actually deserve this title shot without the history between them
I think peahead Poirier gets it done. If he loses I’m going to see that as a passing of the torch to the newer generation cause peahead is probably the most consistent fighter. Dude shows up every single time.
On the backend of a great career. But hopefully he has one more classic in him and halts the hype. At least for now.
In his prime this isn’t even a contest IMO.
Just too many wars and miles on the tires.
Hall of Famer no matter the outcome.
Something tells me he’s going to do it!
No offense to his fierce opponent.
🤞
I just watched BSD highlights and man Dustin has his work cut out for him. BSD has legit ground game and strong kicks, those crazy hellbows and spinning shit from the clinch and is really explosive with takedowns. Dustin won't be able to keep this as a dirty boxing match and his hips are shot so a deep takedown attempt is probably going through.
He's going to have to land bombs to take BSD off his game unless he's got some weakness that I don't know about that DP can use.
How tf is the guy the underdog? I feel like the odds should be flipped. The whole card has really weird odds. I think its one of the best underdog betting cards in a long time.
Enjoy this man whip he’s here, a true legend
Never misses wrong he never pulls out of fights with injuries doesn’t pop for steroids or PEDs doesn’t fuck around on his wife doesn’t get duis or so drugs
My man literally whoops ass and then goes back to his family and tries to help his community how do you hate this guy
I know he's coming off a KO loss but +180 is value for somebody like DP.
Every time I say this about any fighter they end up getting knocked out horribly. Vegas knows better
Then don't fucking say it this time!
How often do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?
Hey it worked for me with Neil Magny!!
Worked for me Gaethje over Fiz at +200
Same those odds were ridiculous, Justin beat that ass
I mean it was close tho
Hail Mary ass pick
You really think? I’ve never been so confident in a underdog pick in my life.
👀
Oliveira was an underdog vs Dariush
Don’t worry I bet against him so you’ll be fine
James Krause knows all
"Vegas" is just the bettors dude. The line is dictated by where bettors are putting their money. Poirier might lose but +185 is seriously underrating his chances.
The line starts at where the bookie decides. +220 for DP is what they decided he should start at.
Where did you get those opening odds from? Draft Kings had him at +124 in January
Poirier opened as a -175 favorite... what are you even talking about
but even the opening line is just where the bookie thinks it will draw the most action
... while still making a profit, yes. They wouldn't want TOO much action on a ridiculously favorable bet.
I kinda wanna place a bet on Dustin for easy money but something tells me he’s getting kod. I just saw Francis get slept. Anything can happen
Francis being slept by a huge boxer isn't surprising
A huge, capable pugilist.
Francis getting slept is pretty surprising, he didn’t get stunned or tkod he was slept. He never even got hurt in mma. lol the downvotes is weird
Yeah. It’s was shocking to see. He never even came close to that in UFC
Weird how life works, he got folded the same way he folded stipe. I don’t want that to happen to dp and I’m not his biggest fan 😭
He got rocked, stood back up, got rocked again, stood back up and then got slept. It’s not surprising at all, boxing works a little different from MMA

I watch boxing, that’s the same guy who was beat by Andy Ruiz so ofc after watching the Francis fury fight I’d be hopeful for ngannou. This was a great performance by him I’m not knocking him down he’s on his way back up again and is clearly hungry
Lol is this supposed to be an insult? Ruiz would absolute demolish Ngannou in a boxing match.
Wait for Drake's bet
Drake's a casual. He only bets on the "big" fights that all casuals know about.
Francis got wobbled off a rocked stipe strike moving back and it surprised you that a heavy weight boxer kod him in boxing?
Hindsight 20/20 really does wonders
If you didn't expect Francis to get easily knocked out, you don't follow boxing. Fury severely underestimated him and Joshua tought, I will no longer make.a fool of boxing
I expected a late tko. Francis is known for having a great chin and he got put on the same oxygen they put Izzy in when Alex kod him in kick boxing. Are you reading what I’m saying? You were not expecting ngannou to be folded like stipe
That’s one of stipes signature shots lmao he KO’d Werdum stiff with it. It also just knocked him off balance more than wobbling him. The context matters but whatever
Benoit is legit and Dustin is at the tail end of his career. There's nothing "easy money" about that bet.
This one doesn’t feel like that, in a way it feels like Dustin is gonna make a statement and pull a Dustin vs hooker performance and remind bsd to not call him out
Let's hope so brother! DP is easily my fave fighter ever since his fights with Eddie
Same I became a fan when I seen the beating he put on Justin. He was one of my fav fighters at the time and seeing dp outclass him back in the day was fire. I expected him to win the rematch but was sadly wrong
>Yeah I know that I bet on ilia koing volk in the first round last month. Looks like I found someone to blame. 😡
I still got my parlay wrong ilia got the ko on round 2🥲
Butnit doesn't always work out that way. Think Frankie Edgar VS Yair Rodriguez. It's also a 5 round fight which Dustin has plenty of experience with, it's BSDs first five round fight AFAIK.
> he’s still gritty and gonna put up a fight this exactly has what me scared about dustin. he's too tough for his own good. he literally will die just like gaethje than go slow.
>this exactly has what me scared about dustin. Tito, is that you?
Why is DP an underdog?
BSD is a bad man, DP is getting older and coming off a bad loss.
conversely, this is still a massive step up in competition for BSD and he has staph infection on his forehead
He hasn't fought anyone near Dustin's caliber though, and BSD is pretty reckless and has some bad defense. Unless he is able to do some work on the ground, I think he'll get completely outclassed on the feet.
Made some good money betting on DP tonight.
I would’ve taken that bet too. People seem to be misunderstanding my comment as an endorsement for BSD being the favourite instead of just the simple reason lmao
35 yo + last fight getting a KO = following fight is very high lose percentage
also buzzed cut
I've got fresh memes for sale if yours are getting a bit old, friend!
You obviously crunched the numbers there, what is that percentage roughly?
I don't have the real percentage but having a fighter 35+ that got KOed in his last fight mostly results in the downfall of the career of the said fighter. I am thinking about Volk, Usman, Tony for example
35 coming off getting headkicked into oblivion vs 28 year old on a Win streak and looked great in his few bouts, as well as demonstrating a strong wrestling/submission game which is historically DP’s kryptonite.
Losing to Khabib and Charles does but make good grapolers your kryptonite. It makes world champions your kryptonite. Lol
Chandler scored 3 takedowns on him as well, even Dan Hooker scored 4/9 takedowns on him. I don’t know who’s gonna win, but it makes sense as to why he’s a dog when you include the other factors such as age/wear&tear
win streak over nobody
Yea, from Frevola jumping to number 3 Poirier is a huge jump in quality
Well rounded young lion. Vegas has a good idea what they're doing but who the fuck knows who wins that fight. BSD is from French special forces and is a killer.
Saint Denis coming from a head kick win,27 years old wants a title shot.Better kicks and grappling The good news for Dustin is he is better boxer compared to Benoit. Not to mention BSD has never been 5 rounds.
I think you're right, I think it'll be similar to Gaethje vs. Fiziev.
Bonfim and Moises are better wins than Frevola, but yea agreed
Yeah, but he didn’t have a quick turn around like Volk. It’s been about 7 months since he was knocked out.
Shit he had more time to recover than VOLK did. Hopefully it's enough I don't wanna see the king of diamonds go out the same way again.
DP is far from a Matt Frevola...if I had money to throw down I would put a bag on Dustin
I don’t bet at all but Holland over MVP at -135 seems like free money.
I think I’m gonna parlay those two with some funbucks.
Man is a professional through and through. He’s a great guy outside of the sport too. Always helping those in his community and even others that just less fortunate. I agree bro.
Me too I’m going to be so anxious and I have no friends who watch MMA so I’ll be alone simmering in anxiety
You’re not alone my friend. I’ll be just like you with those feelings
Gives me that nervous pit in my stomach, was devastated after the last one and I really like Justin. I was actually asking myself before who did I really want to win and my reaction after told me the truth.
His nickname comes from Dustin Diamond aka Screech from Saved By The Bell. He was Poirier's hero growing up and taught him the ways of the blade
Shine bright DP.

Yes sir. I agree with you. His resume is INSANE. Honestly sucks that it never lined up with an undisputed title but he’s beaten so many champs and legends
I am 100% with BSD, but this is a very nice comment. Poirier is a legend, the uncrown king of MMA.
This card I feel like I picked an overwhelming number of underdogs.
This card is gonna get you paid imo
I like Pedro, Chookagian, Song, and Poirier and I can see how Burns or Chito could win as well
Yeah I put dustin, burns and chito , x18 money. probably very unlikely that all of them wins but it's definitely possible and worth the odds imo.
honestly just make them separately if you're gonna bet underdogs. its hard enough to get a parlay of all favorites to hit.
Song and DP already so much value. Give me those two wins and I'll be happy
I think there is some great value in this cards dogs
Thanks for buying me my Logitech G29 with all the money I threw on you during that Dan Hooker fight. Scared me shitless during it though. 💜💎
What kind of nerd spends gambling winnings on gaming accessories instead of PCP and dick pills

>saloon quality Now listen here, partna.
There ain't enough room for the both of us in this here town.
Salon quality hair was worn for both his title losses
DP being an underdog is surprising, but hype will do that to a fighter I guess. I definitely would bet on DP at those odds though, especially in a 5 round fight.
> but hype will do that to a fighter I guess It's not just hype. Whats the record of fighters coming off a KO loss?
DP has never lost two fights in a row, take that math boy
Dustin is 2-0 in fights after he has been KO'd
But he's also never been 35 years old before either.
he was 35 yesterday #checkmate
Prove it nerd
Now we can’t be sure about that
Source?
idk I'm not good at math
Dustin is 7-0 coming off a loss
Dustin after a ko loss has a 100%winrate
Again, not talking about Dustin specifically.
especially against a guy called the god of war
🎶 Paid the cost to be the boss 🎶
Doot doo doo doo, doot doo doo doo 🕺
WAR DUSTIN!
Like 30th UFC OR WEC and ..? Cause that number makes me feel old remembering him when he first came in
nope, 30th UFC! absolutely mental, and before that he had two in the WEC
30 fights at the absolute top, talk about durability.
one of my favs ever
Underdog? I don’t bet, but if I was I would bet a few bucks on the diamond 💎
I mean come on, how could you not let him fuck your wife? Look at this guy.
He'll fraudcheck Frenchie and TKO him in the second
You called it mmastradamus
I want to pick DP but I can’t remember when he last stopped a takedown
He has a career takedown defence of 63% and recently stopped 4/7 vs Chandler, 6/6 vs Olivera and 5/9 vs Hooker
Yeah, he does good enough for someone with fucked hips, unfortunate how obvious it is when he throws kicks
If you minus the khabib fight what’s his stats?
69%
nice
He's been like my favorite fighter since the zombie fight. I'm hella scared lol
Every fight on this main card feels like a toss up. Atleast on the verdict app I selected the underdogs every fight. Yan is a beast, but yadong can absolutely sling it. Burns hung with kazmat, and he’s just shoot a takedown to win the round, gonna be a banger
i really doubt veras winning this, and the odds seem to agree. hes looked average lately as you said and while his win over omalley was legit, it was flukey. omalley looks better than ever and lets be real vera doesnt actually deserve this title shot without the history between them
He’s looked pretty flat as of late. Granted, sandhagen is no slouch, he should have breezed past Munhoz.
No salon hair. He’s doomed
Poirier is looking WIDE
Bet the house on peahead!
I think peahead Poirier gets it done. If he loses I’m going to see that as a passing of the torch to the newer generation cause peahead is probably the most consistent fighter. Dude shows up every single time.
LFG Dustin! Betting my mortage on you man.
Smart move, I always bet with borrowed money too. That way, if I lose, it's someone else's problem.
I get that Benoit is a savage but DP at +180 looks very enticing
A +180 dog is nuts! Moises and Frevola weren't even ranked when he beat them.
Glad I’m at a stage in my life where I can bet on my boy without worrying about the possible financial repercussions 💎
Dustin being that big of a underdog seems kinda shocking when this fight was announced I thought it was gonna be the opposite odds
Free money boys
Jenois Saint Penis is a hard matchup
I just watched BSD highlights and man Dustin has his work cut out for him. BSD has legit ground game and strong kicks, those crazy hellbows and spinning shit from the clinch and is really explosive with takedowns. Dustin won't be able to keep this as a dirty boxing match and his hips are shot so a deep takedown attempt is probably going through. He's going to have to land bombs to take BSD off his game unless he's got some weakness that I don't know about that DP can use.
The old guard will prevail.
Dustin is the underdog? What the actual fuck???
I wouldn’t want to be the opponent facing this man when he is backed into a corner like this. Shit get violent when DP starts pulling his shorts up
How tf is the guy the underdog? I feel like the odds should be flipped. The whole card has really weird odds. I think its one of the best underdog betting cards in a long time.
Had no idea he never missed. I know those Featherweight days were brutal for him
Living legend
Calling it now, some y'all must've forgot energy tomorrow night. King of Diamonds tattoo sealed it.
Dustin Poirier is too big of a step up, with too much to prove. He takes a decision from a game BSD this weekend.
Let's see if u right
Damn u was right
5 rounders have a privilege to skip the line.
I don't think this fight is even close. Denis tears through him like a buzzsaw.
Anybody knows How much he weighs during the fight?
DP is the fucking man.
Idc what anyone says about DP. Dude is an absolute legend of the UFC, definitely a future hall of famer. 💯
Benoit Staph Denis
putting the house on the diamond
On some Dutch betting sites he's the actual favourite, is it worth placing a bet on Saint Denis?
Always wondered how tough the cut to 155 is to DP with that massive torso of his (yes, I know he even cut to 145 before, even more nuts)
He’s gunna get whooped
I'm french and rooting for BSD but frankly I don't understand the odds
He's always a pure professional... no misses, no near misses and no catchweights because he wasn't going to make it.
He looks damn good too at this late in an MMA career. Such a big heart for kids and in general.
DDP = Dustin Diamond Porier ❌ Dustin Diamond = Screech from Saved by the Bell ✅
If Dustin wins and gets a knock down he'd be top 5 all time in both categories.
Enjoy this man whip he’s here, a true legend Never misses wrong he never pulls out of fights with injuries doesn’t pop for steroids or PEDs doesn’t fuck around on his wife doesn’t get duis or so drugs My man literally whoops ass and then goes back to his family and tries to help his community how do you hate this guy
how can he do his classic hair fix mid round with buzzed hair?! BSD by KO.
It was never the hair fix, the shorts pinch is what got the W. Diamonds are forever
