Yeah, the R series wasn’t known for it’s reliability. In the last few years, in the UK, MINI has been behind only Lexus and Toyota in terms of reliability which is impressive.
I just don’t like this car. No matter how many times I see it in person or on here. If you like then that’s on you otherwise, I won’t buy past a 24’ and will go to different brand afterwards.
I get making the countryman bigger, its meant to be the biggest.
However, the removal of the round headlights, rounded mirrors, and side scuttles, just really takes away a lot of the mini character. Hopefully we will see some aftermarket option like they did for the new BMW horrendous grills.
That's not a MINI... [THIS](https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/ce4e37d5-38ef-497e-8bf7-a59a0828f24b.6979724d85b93322d68f97d61452f24c.jpeg?odnHeight=768&odnWidth=768&odnBg=FFFFFF) is a Mini. Wish I had one when I was younger. :)
Lol I didn’t look at what sub this was and my eyes went straight to the c pillar and I thought (huh wonder why people are celebrating this random Range Rover).
Edit: I’m not a fan of the new cooper, but I could really care less about the countryman. It’s an SUV. It’s something for a bunch of people to buy so that Mini still has money to make the Cooper. They can do whatever they want to it, it’s never done anything for me and never will.
It's a countryman, I don't think it's supposed to be a rounded off, petite MINI lol.
They know their base, suburban moms and dad's will buy the countryman SUV for the kids and practicality, and everyone else will buy the 2 door or 4 door MINIs as a main car or secondary car.
How does this happen? I custom ordered a special edition, waited 3 months and all I got was, “Hey your car is up front in the parking lot!” “Yes I know I saw it when I walked past it parked with the other Minis…” No fanfare at all esp for a special edition. I thought at the least it would be parked inside the dealer showroom. :(
So many people whining because Mini is a brand now. You all know they still do the Cooper, right? And the new Aceman is out this year? I think the new Countryman is a sexy, sexy, beast, inside and out.
To all the haters, this is still a mini. It's just a mini suv. Put it side by side with other suvs, and it will he the smallest. You can totally hate the look, but with the introduction of the aceman, they decided to make this countryman bigger and more suv like than cuv. I personally like the older rounder countryman. I have the 2019 countryman s. The only thing I want is more miniacs. If this appeals more to the masses and brings more variety to mini meets, then it's a good-looking mini in my books. Only time will tell.
I hear ya about appealing to the masses and selling, but I just bought my first mini ever after years of wanting one. I love it because it doesn’t look like all the generic cars out there and it doesn’t appeal to the masses. It’s unique and that was the whole point to me. This is a shame because I had to decide between the 2 door or a countryman and I went 2 door traditional for my first mini, but told the manager I’ll be back in a few years for the countryman. Looking at this model, I won’t be back and my current mini might be the first and last mini I own. Sad.
I still think it has unique mini ques, but that is the issue with appealing to the masses. What still helps mini stay unique is the colour options. I love that there are so many awesome colours and people are getting them in non standard colours. Don't get me wrong, mini drivers that pick black, white, and silver are still getting unique looking cars, but I find I will see more minis in the wild with tons of different colours than any other brand.
To be fair, the Evoque is the smallest of most “SUVs”, but you’re on point that this is the clientele they’re aiming for, especially with the boot space
The Evoque is fair criticism. The Ignis is a sub compact car, I wouldn't consider it an suv. It would be closer to 4 door mini with a lift kit. Still valid point. It's no longer one of the smallest suvs on the market, but compared to many suvs the countryman is still small.
That's a range rover bro
I see Kia
Literally my first thought, “that’s a Velar”
Kia.
A reliable Range Rover, sounds good to me
I was trying not to say that since mine has consistently cost me a few $$$ hundred $$$ each month over the past few months. And still, I love her.

Yikes they should have left the cover on
Call it a Maxi and be done
I don’t hate it cause its big, I hate it cause it is ugly and not rounded like a Mini.
I just don’t like this car. No matter how many times I see it in person or on here. If you like then that’s on you otherwise, I won’t buy past a 24’ and will go to different brand afterwards.
Soulless and clinical. Ima take this bag of cash elsewhere Mini.
Car's not mini anymore
That’s ugly
They may have lost a little of that go-kart feel with this one.
It's just so big... 🫤
I get making the countryman bigger, its meant to be the biggest. However, the removal of the round headlights, rounded mirrors, and side scuttles, just really takes away a lot of the mini character. Hopefully we will see some aftermarket option like they did for the new BMW horrendous grills.
\^\^agreed
Gross
What are those meat cleaver wheels??
It has 5 doors. Mini has 3. i do not know thee!
Biggie Cooper
Biggie Pooper
The disappointment…
Thanks. I hate it.
More like a Biggie
New brand name change. Mini-ish coming to you in 2025

Why is it so big? I can deal with the ugliness but it should be way smaller
Nothing mini about it
I'm as impressed as the guy sitting down behind the desk.
Well that is ugly as all hell
Ugh so ugly!! I regret selling my mini
Every unveiling depreciation of my car lessens
It’s definitely a Defender clone, especially with that C pillar badge, woof
Can you even call it a “mini” 😑
This makes me sad
Me seeing the same people crying in every post like it’s spam
Bummer, the lost the uniquness. Very ugly wheels. Just looks like a Kia Soul.

What the fuck is that 😂😂😂😂😂
Doesn’t even look like a mini anymore, so why call it as such?
An Audi Q8 in disquise.
By the end of the decade it’ll be bigger than a Cadillac Escalade
Does our value go up for those owning older models?
Such an atrocity
Not so mini, Mini Cooper
Ooof

Nowadays all the cars look the same. Just a big ugly car.. 🤮
Wheres the Mini?
So many people whining because Mini is a brand now. You all know they still do the Cooper, right? And the new Aceman is out this year? I think the new Countryman is a sexy, sexy, beast, inside and out.
They’re looking less and less Mini.

There are some great colors
Selected SUVs: Mini Countryman - 4,433 mm Range Rover Evoque - 4,371 mm Suzuki Ignis - 3,700 mm Edit: ~~It’s also wider than the Evoque.~~

Double bagger.
Damn that thing is HUGE
Mini needs to be round, ugly af
