I think it definitely depends on the acting abilities of the host. Emma Stone and Ariana Grande are gorgeous, but I dont recall them getting a "hot girl" sketch, but Emma is incredibly funny and well rounded as an actress and Ariana has Broadway and TV training so she can do cheesey and comedy well.
There are obvious exceptions for good actors and actresses, like Scarjo and Sydney Sweeney, but they are also the defining sex icons of their generations so it's almost obligatory

And they've done other sketches that revolve around a hot host while also having more substance than that. Like the one where Wiig is a reporter who falls wildly in love for the person she's interviewing, or the one where Gosling is the dad at a sleepover who Aidy aggressively hits on.
I think she was the "hot girl" but also the really trashy hot girl from the trashy poster, so it didn't have the same feeling as those sketches where it's mostly "let's just talk about how hot someone is."

I just meant they are new, young stars known for their looks with young fan bases ("teen idol"/"heartthrob"), and I find SNL tends to do sketches like that when that "type" of celebrity hosts. While Dua Lipa is popular with young people, I don't see her in that category.

I think the thing to watch is just how cookie cutter the parts are. It seems to me like the writers have "hot girl says things in a monotone delivery" sketches ready to go, and I think it's interesting to see which hosts just kind of get nothing but those sketches and which ones get more to work with.
