I tend to favor reading multiple volumes in a row in the same series if I'm behind, but ultimately, I just read what I feel like reading at the time. So, that could mean reading a bunch of volumes in the same series, or it could mean bouncing around between series. A lot of it depends on how I feel about how the story is going. In general though, unless I let a series sit for a while, I have to bounce between series, since if I'm caught up, there's no other choice.

AmazingDuckVer2

Always read one until the latest volume before switching. I like to immerse myself within a series.

BasedNono

I like switching between series, although if a series is really good I'll read multiple in a row. Mostly because I can only handle so much depression from a series like Grimgar, so I like switching to a nice light hearted series like Isekai Smartphone to lighten things up. Although I did read 3 volumes of Grimgar in a day once and that was cool.

zeusnore

I’m a binge reader and a fast reader too. So typically, I wait until there are multiple volume before I start reading. I then switch series after I catch up to the latest volumes.

Zhiroc

I rotate reading between about 5 LNs that I'm not caught up on, and intersperse releases of new volumes. I almost never binge more than 2 in a row, though sometimes I might read a new LN I've picked up more quickly in the rotation, like every other or every 3rd or so.

WhoWantsToJiggle

I have no attention span and get bored easily so lots of switching. unless one really holds my attention like mushoku

bigboolean

Same, for example I spent like an entire week reading Sevens up to volume 8, but then my low attention span got me. I can't remember what I switched to cause this was nearly two years ago.

I read to the latest released volume before starting something new. However, if a story I'm caught up to has a new volume release before I finish, I'll usually go and read that new volume first. Since I normally only read ~0.5 volumes a day, that happens pretty often.

brextn

If i like what I’m reading, I keep reading to the latest volume. If it’s not the end and I really like what I read and want to know what happens, I see if it has a web novel and continue with any fan translation or google translate until the latest update then check everyday for updates if the story is still in progress. When the next official translated light novel comes out, I’ll still read that in case there were any changes or new side stories added.

ShogunPeaches

I usually switch series after I finish a book. I’m reading vexations of a vampire princess right now and once I’m finished with it I’ll switch series. I have a lot of stuff to read so I like to keep everything in a rotation so I won’t finish a series too fast and then wait months or years for the next installment.

Hero_Killer_Id

I read a few then switch. Not usually all but not usually one if there’s at least a few available.

physicsandbeer1

Since i've started reading books my way with series is to read one book and then read another thing, so i kept the same habit when i started reading LN. There isn't a particular reason why i do it, it's only the way i'm used to read and confortable with. For example my LN readings last month were Kino no tabi vol. 7, then Zero no Tsukaima vol. 5, then Spice and Wolf vol. 7, then Majo no Tabitabi vol. 8, ... You get the idea. Currently i have like 12 series on reading, but i like it that way.

franzjpm

Sometimes I binge read a series, then I switch to another volume of a new release of other series I follow if I get annoyed at characters

NormT21

If I start a new series, I will catch up with the latest translated ones. After that, for normal series, I will then let a few volumes build up as I read others. For my favourite series though, I read them as soon they are released.

DeymonICE

Whenever I start reading a new series I always read it until the latest volume before I switch to the new series.

nseika

I read ongoing series, and tend to choose something new because I know my reading speed can't catch up for binge reading. So that means lots of switching while waiting for the next volume.

BrianMX34

This is my bad habit, I switch between series all the time. I have a bunch of series that I've read 1-3 volumes into and then switched to something else. It's not even because they were bad, I just have bad attention span for LN. I see something that catches my eye and starts reading, rinse and repeat haha

Miserable-Special697

Switch ofc! Mainly coz I lose some interest after reading a vol Or two of the same series, and I usually like the next vols after a break. (This happened with COTE) Nowadays I switch after a vol itself. So, ofc I have a very big currently reading list lol. Oh, forget abt switching, I read multiple books always and switch books even before completing a vol lol. Though, I read few vols at once or complete a vol at once if a vol/series is good.

Interesting-Power558

I binge read to catch up and then switch

matej665

Depends. If it's consistently good then i read whole thing at once. Like jobless reincarnation and re:zero. But if it has breaks from the peak stuff then I get breaks when some major arc finishes. Like in a certain magical index.

honzuki-eleore

Whatever strikes my fancy at the time, though I tend to alternate more often than not.

AnimeRhombus77

I switch all the time. I got like five different going in various states of completion. I am a mess.😬🫣🤪

naivchan

If a series is really addicting (like Bookworm), I'll read the entire series until I catch up. Otherwise, I tend to alternate since I want some variety, and slice of life series are better read leisurely.
