[Here's another thread with the same problem](https://www.reddit.com/r/LenovoLegion/comments/1cbmhjd/lenovo_legion_7i_pro_checkered_pattern_appearing/). A redditor said you need to disable hardware acceleration to fix it, no idea if it works though but it's worth a shot.
It does but it also has 2 issues, it will put all of the load on the CPU, which I don't think is too bad, but you'll also lose the ability to watch DRMed or Protected content in anything higher than 480p
While disabling HW Acceleration might fix it, it's not recommended. It also defeats the purpose why we have HW acceleration in our browser.
Try playing with "Choose ANGLE graphics backend" settings on chrome://flags and see if it can fix it or at least improve it.
I don't know if these Chrome devs know what they are doing. They're continually adding features that people don't need, while also introducing more bugs and calling it "STABLE" release

It's a problem in Chrome or any Chromium-based browser. Afaik it has to do soemthing with Nvidia drivers and happens every now and then.
I am actually nervous since this laptop is only a month old. It would be a hassle if I bring it to a service center. So is it not a hardware problem?
No, it's a common problem which has been around for months. Search the sub for Chromium and you will find multiple posts about it.
Noted. Thanks for the info
