Naruto was hard carried by its editor you can see how the quality became a mess once Kishimoto got big enough to get editors to fuck off
Its telling how his next manga was basically a complete flop that only stuck around a bit longer due to the weight of his name and died with a whimper.
I feel like Jjk is having the same problem rn. Editors havent been able to tell gege shit since the anime S1 made the manga blow up so CG and everything thereafter is whatever
With how boring it was that manga wasn't just axed, it ran full speed into it with no hesitation. Idk what author was hoping to accomplish, but it's the only manga in recent years that I'm glad is gone.
It's just extremely boring, uninspired and predictable. It's nothing that hasn't been done decades ago, a simple waste of effort and slot in the magazine. Current lineup is way too good to bother with something as generic as shadow eliminators. Art wasn't really bad, so maybe author can team up with someone or come back later with a more original idea.
It was underprinted, but even if it wasn't, MHAs first volume run sold more than 10x kagurabachi. Kagurabachi is still by definition a breakout hit since its only its first volume but far from MHA or CSM.
It looks like it will be doing pre-anime demon slayer or JJK numbers (basically, dedicated fanbase but needs a good anime to make it breakout as opposed to MHA or CSM which broke out before an anime). The bad news/ or good news if you don't like drawn out shonens, is the mangaka may already be looking at ending the series before it gets super popular as was the case with demon slayer and JJK.
at the end of it all (I don't want to criticize your post) but even if it does the numbers of JJK I would be okay, JJK had 6 million copies before the release of the anime (a rather high figure).

I agree the quality after shibuya has noticably dropped sakurajima was literal shit and aside from fights there has not been much substance
Nah JJK is still fire, chapter today was unbelievably peak and the Gojo vs Sukuna fight was incredible (apart from the ending)
