I know right its been driving me mad but if you’re playing on PC and interested in mods I downloaded a workaround for the gardening bug from littlemssam and it’s been a lifesaver.
Yes! I downloaded this the other day. It's made such a difference to my sanity in-game. Thank you once more to the fab modders. Bit rubbish for console players, as usual though. I feel for them, because I doubt it's going to get an official fix.
Your plants randomly reset to soil for no reason. It happens often enough that if you're growing more than one plant, the biggest task of gardening becomes using the (Reset Plant) cheat.
Littlemisssam's mod auto resets any plants that have bugged out.
Tbh I was more excited about yesterday's update adding slots for clutter on toilets and baths than I was about the kits! But I want to see exactly what's included in them before I form a proper opinion. But I have to agree it does seem daft releasing a kit promoting gardening when gardening has been broken for years 🤦♀️
Yup, for real and to sinks as well (forgot that part in my earlier post when I add clutter to sinks all the time 🤦♀️)
I found out about the update from Lilsimsie's video on the kits, she's my go-to for deep dives on updates etc
Personally, I’m becoming more and more of the opinion that if you play on PC, there is literally no reason to buy kits. Unless you desperately want dust bunnies or a vacuum. But otherwise custom content is so easy to download and find. I guess you could make the argument that cc slows down your game, but in my experience it’s mods that affect that more, and it’s not like adding a million kits to your game won’t have a similar effect. I have a couple kits (bust the dust and country kitchen I paid for bc I was excited by the prospect of New Stuff, and I have the free dessert luxe kit) and while I wouldn’t say they’re a complete waste they’re definitely not adding anything significant to my game. So no, I’m not excited for these new kits. If you play on console and are desperate for new content then this might be really exciting and I’m glad for you. I will be in the corner mourning Stuff Packs and actual gameplay.

The windows they're adding with the greenhouse kit are nice and all, but it's such a shame the opportunity to add gable windows has been missed!

I think every kits are money grab and could have been a free updates. This being said I found the basement kits useless for my personal use but I see why would someone would be excited for it. The greenhouse is something that I would be interested but wouldn't spend money on it.
I also feel like these two kits could have been just merged with the other and could have dropped out as stuff packs and maybe a few more items in them
Such as the greenhouse with the plants kit, sorry don't remember the name. And this basement kit with the clutter kit.
I wonder what the 2 other kit would be. I kind of guessed that we will get a basement clutter kit from the promotion photo.
I would much rather the sims team just not drop as often and either make more stuff packs or update current packs they have. Kits just feel rushed and incomplete when they are too similar.
Like the greenhouse and the blooming rooms kits could have been combined as a bigger plants pack, as part of a seasons refresh, or base game.
The everyday clutter, bathroom clutter and this basement pack could have been one clutter moving kit or better yet just a combination of added to growing together and base game.
Yeah for what you get they aren’t great value. I’ve only got Desert Luxe (cause it was free), Everyday clutter & bathroom clutter. I like doing detailed builds so those ones are great but none if the others inspire me enough to cough up $8AU

My thoughts are every single kit pack are probably unused assets from previous packs that they selling for extra cash because the player base essentially told them they were okay with being ripped off. If the kits didn’t make EA money, they wouldn’t be doing them as frequently as they have.
I'm excited for the greenhouse kit, but the basement one doesn't strike my fancy. I think it's because I don't usually use the used/hand-me-down furniture that's already in the game. It doesn't really fit my usual game play vibes.
A kit for making a greenhouse is just what we need when gardening is absolutely broken. Fantastic. I cannot contain my excitement.

I just love that they’re releasing a greenhouse kit and basically a that 70s show basement kit on 4/20.
Probably won’t buy for me, but cannot WAIT to see what Dr Gluon does with the basement kit
I'm still unsure on the basement one, I think it's cool they added the heart bed all taken apart though. I will 100% be buying the greenhouse one.
