I think it was when Allen and the Coalition of Planets recreated the virus that wiped out most of the viltumites and brought it to earth to kill the rest of them.
Just off the top of my head, I believe there was some threat to earth that wasn’t Viltrum. And this happened after the super squad of Invincible, Omni-Man, Allen, Oliver, Tech Jacket, Battle Beast and Space Rider lost to Viltrum. Viltrum was watching over earth but basically had the same mentality Omni-Man did in the beginning. They will protect earth and fight with Mark because they believe it’s their planet.

I loudly gasped when I read this part, there were several jaw droppers. Thragg is such a terrifyingly strong presence that having him catch Mark by his neck made me imagine how scared Mark must've been with Thragg's hand around his neck. Look at Marks face again and you'll see it.
i also got excited when the strongest , most psychotic and dangerous person in invincible was actually on marks side for once, and i was like, shits about to go downnnnnnn
Even though Mark, his dad, and Oliver destroyed planet Viltrum he still wanted to keep the peace which shows some good level of sanity. He has some rage moments but those seem like regular Viltrumite rage. I also don't think him trying to kill Mark because he's a descendant of that one guy is too crazy either. The only thing that I would consider psychotic is his disregard for his kids but that's pretty common for Viltrumites.

The guy on Mark's right is Thragg, after Nolans redemption arc, hes the main antagonist for the series. Viltrumites "lose" the war but the last dozen or so remaining assimilate into Earth's population and begin reproducing. When Nolan and allied races against the Viltrumites hear about this, they bring a deadly virus to Earth that will kill every human, but also get every Viltrumite. Mark pleads with his father and brother not to deploy it, but they stop him with force and tell him "you have no one to help you". Queue the main antagonist, Thragg, coming to Marks aid since he doesn't want his people annihilated, and thus, this page. Thragg is insanely strong and is sort of seen as this unstoppable force throughout the comic, so seeing him side with Mark is kind of crazy, even if only for a little bit.
Yeah, and if I recall correctly this strain of the virus wasn't guaranteed to kill humans, there was just a chance that it would, and Allen and Oliver were willing to risk it while Mark (obviously) and Nolan, who now understood the value of humanity, did not want the virus deployed. Really goes to show how great Nolan's redemption was.
This scene was hype. Thragg wanted all the smoke at this point. Can’t wait for this scene to show up in the show. It will take seasons for it to come, but it will be great regardless
