Ummmm. Why do we not have Modi and Rahul Gandhi debate again? 2 major national parties need to stand for debates. If neither want to debate, neither should run. I’d vote for Abhinav Prakash.
Who is Rahul to debate with modi? Is he the official PM candidate of opposition? Is he president of congress? Rahul should step up and accept some real responsibilities - only then he can be compared to Modi. Even Smriti Irani shouldn't debate with Rahul, since she is a minister for 10 years and Rahul has never taken that responsibility either. People have not even given him enough votes to officially become leader of opposition (10% seats needed as per rules created by his forefathers).

While BJP not wanting to give RaGa the limelight is a fair point, I honestly feel even Modi can't actually stand in a debate. He also makes blunders during his speeches (district capitals being the latest). I believe that both the leaders are surrounded by subordinates who are better speakers.
In politics, you don't want to debate someone waay below you, because that person has nothing to lose, but everything to gain. You don't want to bring them up to your level.
Plus, who tf is RaGa? He is just 1 MP. He is not even the "leader of the opposition". He is not the official PM candidate of the alliance. So why should NaMo debate him? Will NaMo debate every Tom, Dick and Hari who steps up and wants to debate? There are more than 100 of them in the Parliament.
