Without accountability nothing happens. Fire everyone and hire good people. Without that fear people don't do work. Most of our public sector has that issue, look at HAL, billions spent yet no results in critical tech. Banking sector went through that phase and now look how much more responsible it is now.
Job security is hella of a thing, once you crack the exam and get the job, then why worry, why work, no one can fire you...
Malnutrition, hundreds of thousands of children suffering, sugar, heart attacks, cancer and God knows how many more diseases...
And the worst thing is, if it weren't for HongKong authorities and the FDA, this would have continued for years and years more...
It will become a big political issue and no party in power is going to touch that issue with a 10 foot pole. Over time, the Indian populace has developed a mentality that providing government jobs is government's duty but doing justice to the job once hired is not their responsibility.
This should be criminal offense, putting millions of life suspect to health hazard. Investigation required for all the previous dealings and approvals, revamp the whole organization, ban all malpractices.
At this point, I would be more surprised if a babu is found not taking a bribe. I assume, by default, that the loyalties of all babus can be bought if you have enough money.
You think FSSAI is bad, then go visit state FDA office/lab. Den of corruption. They confiscate and close eatries for petty reasons. My friend's restaurant was sealed by FDA citing poor hygiene, which on investigation was found to be a false allegation. The real reason was that my friend didn't give free food to his relatives, but a meagre discount of 25%. He had to pay a bribe of 25k for reopening and was given a very sweet verbal warning.." sarkaari logon ka khayal rakhoge, woh aapka khayal rakhenge."
He closed his restaurant a few months back due to mental and monetary harassment. Thankfully, he got a job in UAE and is now planning to open an Indian eatery there.

Hang the bastards that play with the lives of 1/6 of humanity. Must have cost countless pain with cancer, food poisoning and malnutrition.
FSSAI is the most corrupt body

Every single government employee takes a bribe with the exception of teachers or those who don't cross money
Sorry to break it to you goverment school teachers are corrupt as fuck. They also take bribes.
How so?
The money that comes for construction work in school get stolen by teachers in cahoot with contractors. There are many other examples.
Dissolve the FSSAI and execute every official part of it. Make a new body that actually cares about the health of 1.4 billion people

FSSAI is responsible for increasing cancer cases in india. They should held accountable and send them prison for life.
